Mountain View Diner

I was very pleased with the huge variety of things to eat and the very friendly service and the wonderful environment. The only thing that I wasn't so satisfied or pleased about was the prices of the food on the menu but I was figuring out they were that price because it was right across from Hollywood Casino and race track where people probably have a lot of money to spend.

Having now visited the Mountain View Diner on 4 separate occasions, on different days, and having ordered a few different meals, I can confidently say: it's a diner. (That's a good thing.) Portions are excellent. Food is flavorful. Options are more abundant than usual, to include: fried food, steak, seafood, Greek, daily specials for lunch and dinner, and of course - a whole list of sandwiches along with two full pages of breakfast options. Service is friendly and prompt. Prices are reasonable, especially giving consideration to portion sizes. Get a gyro platter and a piece of baklava, you won't regret it.

Delicious food. Very large portions. Daily lunch and dinner specials. All day breakfast. Homemade desserts. Large dining area with tables and booths. Very friendly and helpful employees. Reasonable prices. Large parking lot. Customer restrooms. Recommend the baked salmon.

Went there today, Saturday morning with the family and had a great experience. Home cook country style. We enjoy the simple dining experience. They’re short on staff but the servers are at their best to accommodate everyone. Thanks to them and I can’t complain. The portions are more than great. Eggs are real, not boxed. Abundance of coffee and our server checking on us if we need anything. Thanks! Will go there again.

Oh my God! This place is haven for comfort food! Absolutely the best home made Breakfast you'll eat!

The dinners are big plates of yum! Not to mention their desserts that you can pick from in their clear case when u walk in.. Huge fresh pies, cakes and just pure joy of happiness!

I highly recommend after a long night of gambling or anytime u want home made food.. you won't be disappointed, I have not had one meal there that was bad!

They hit all the high points for a diner. Solid menu, coffee mugs, huge portions, friendly service. What was impressive was the use of Lox in many of the dishes. Next, I would try the deluxe bagel. Had the NY Benedict. The hollandaise sauce seems to be made fresh based on how it seemed to break. It's worth the stop.

I love this diner! I was so impressed, everyone who stops in Charles Town should make this their part of their visit. First, I'm going to give high praise to our waitress, Dani.
She was so kind, polite and attentive. She was sweet, patient and fun to chat with. The staff is hospitable, and work together to get hot food out to the tables, even if it's not their table. The floor manager kept things moving and got her hands dirty, too. Now let me share about the 8 page menu! There is an expansive selection for dinner, something for every taste, and a modest Greek menu. They have an appetizer, breakfast and lunch menu, as well. Finally, dessert! Save room for the bountiful selection of cakes and pies. Homemade cheesecakes, decadent layered cakes and fresh pies. There is outdoor and indoor seating. I'll try the patio next time, and enjoy the beautiful view. Go to this wonderful spot during your stay in Charles Town. I have no luck with gambling, but I hit the jackpot at this diner.

The food and service here are awesome. The soups are amazing and the breakfasts are the best in the area hands down. The waitresses make you feel right at home. They have lunch specials every day that are very economical and just downright good food.

Really good food and excellent customer service. Thanks to Betty made us feel at home. Ordered fish and chips and broiled stuffed flounder. It's really tasty and fresh.

We go here often and usually have a great experience. The omelets are my favorite & the potatoes are always a good choice. Mostly great service!

Great Diner! Staff is always happy and friendly with great service too. The food is great! We always eat there when in WV for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So if you love home cooked meals you have found it and you will never leave hungry. We love it!

This place was great. My wife and I were looking for a good breakfast experience before our trip home on a Sunday morning and ended up here. This place was absolutely packed. It's easy to tell that this is a favorite with the locals as well as travelers.

It may have been extremely busy, but we were seated immediately and service throughout was great. We had the usual eggs and bacon and had the house specificialty French toast, all was great.

Stopped in for Eggs Benedict. Really tasty! Enjoyable atmosphere. Well be back!

We love their breakfast! Waitstaff is super friendly. Food is always wonderful and the portion sizes are great! Definitely recommend 👌

We eat breakfast and lunch there often! I have never been disappointed. If you're looking for country cooking, large portions and a great breakfast, this is your place! I highly recommend it.

Clean restaurant, wonderful quick and super friendly waitress. The tuna melt with fries was phenomenal. We usually go to the Frederick location but Charles Town has it beat by far!

Great place. Portions are huge and tasty and with a wide array of dishes to choose from you could eat here all 3 meals for a month and not eat the same thing twice. And of course I posted pics of the desserts. Those pies were heaped up. One thing for sure you will not leave wanting here. They have something for everyone here.

If you enjoy home cooked meals with large portion size, then this is your place! Friendly staff, clean and comfy atmosphere. The food was very yummy

Went in tonight 11-18 my daughter's birthday with visiting family we had Penny. She was great , very understanding with my youngest being a handful and giving us plenty of time to look and order and all, as well as having refills out with out even asking which was great ! unfortunately the table behind us was ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS ! I was truley disgusted with the behavior of a woman who was dang well old enough who shoulda have acted better ate half her meal running this poor woman to death then wanted to keep complaining and everything penny did everything she could for them ! I give her applause and praise because ive worked in the restaurant buisness on and off my whole life and it's hard but she was great ! She does great so go in and request her you won't regret it !

Excellent Food and Service; Ashley our waitress was absolutely incredible. Wide range of items on the menu; reasonable prices; first time visit and won’t be the last.
