This place is small but absolutely worth the stop! We sat at the bar with Jerri, and she was wonderful. Service was great, fast, and the banter between the staff was added entertainment. I was between the shrimp and grits for brunch and another menu item and the grits did not disappoint.

Best food I’ve had on a long time. Fantastic menu. I’m from Michigan and will come back every time I fly in. Definitely get the cheesesteak sandwich and their fries. So good.

Update: came here for breakfast again. Ordered the steak and eggs, bene bene, coffee and Mimosa flight. It was excellent. The service is always prompt and wonderful. Highly recommend!

We went here for breakfast. Service was great and the food was yummy. I ordered the pulled pork hash. It was a very generous portion and it was good. Would recommend!!

I did a quick breakfast here before I hit the road for a trip. This is a cute little restaurant right outside of Charlotte. The service was impeccable. I love the home vibe. The food and coffee were delicious. I had the basic flip side breakfast. Definitely worth a visit.

When visiting family in the area for Thanksgiving, we were looking for some place to eat the night before. This topped the list and I was told it was some of the best food that could compete with NYC and other large cities. My brother said they usually go on Sunday for the brunches that are crowded, so we called to see if we could get a reservation. They were not crowded and we sat down with 8 people. Started off with a hazy pale ale to go with the crab cakes and truffle fries. These crab cakes stand up to the ones I have tried in Maryland. For my dinner, I went with the Lockport NY Beef on Weck that was on a small bun, but came with a punch from the horseradish and a side of greens (one thing I miss about living in the South!). If you are not into greens, get the sweet potato fries that have a sweet brown sugar taste. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals and we had enough to take home to other family members that did not join us. It is some of the best food and I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. Don't be turned off by the strip mall feel, because you will be surprised with excellent food and service that is Southernly.

The good: everything
The bad: couldn’t finish eating it all

Stopped in here two days in a row because the food was so good. The Flipside breakfast is an easy go to. Try with wheat bread if you like to dip your build and egg sandwich. Eggs were great over medium, over easy and scrambled. The cheese grits have great flavor and so does the gravy that comes with the biscuits. The bacon was great and even it was overshadowed by the flavor of everything else. The quality of food here is that good!

If you have a sweet tooth you MUST try the cinnamon crunch waffle. Tons of flavor but balanced and not overwhelming.

Will be back to try everything else including dinner.

First stop in while passing through on a business trip. Stopped in right at opening for breakfast....

Up front, the food quality and ingredients are top shelf and the chef team are killing it!

I was impressed with the creative menu options (what drew me in) and the flavors didn't disappoint. I'll be even more adventurous next time and try the shrimp n grits or lobster omelet.... but this time I had biscuits and gravy and hash and eggs which are some of my favorite dishes.

The biscuits and gravy were stellar...top 3 I've ever eaten... that gravy!! Just bring me a bowl of it!! Surprisingly the ham tasso really perfects it ... well that and its well seasoned!
Yes the biscuits were good to of course! And fresh!!

The hash was really good too...pork was insanely tender, chock full of fresh veggies. The eggs were over cooked a few levels but it didn't detract from the taste even a little.

I love stopping in local places, not just because they deserve our support, but they can surprise you with their sophistication and excellence!!

The Flipside Cafe delighted us with a wonderful dining experience! My roasted chicken and risotto were perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and portioned just right. While the Flipside burger was slightly overdone compared to our "medium well" request, its taste couldn't be denied, and the crispy fries were an absolute treat. Even my daughter's seemingly simple grilled cheese and tomato soup were elevated to a surprising level of heartiness and quality. Overall, we were impressed by the delicious food, and I highly recommend The Flipside Cafe for a satisfying and enjoyable meal!

We went here because we had a coupon from one of those fundraiser coupon books. We enjoyed every moment of it, from parking to dining. Located in a convenient, easily accessible area in Fort Mill. A lot of spacious parking. We dined for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. We were greeted upon entry and seated by the hostess. A nice quaint little place that was clean. There were only 2 or 3 tables available but it didn’t appear crowded because of the setup. There was plenty of seats available at the bar for single diners. After being seated, we were immediately brought water until our server arrived. Rachel, our waitress was very friendly and made helpful recommendations as it was our first visit. My significant other ordered steak and eggs and I ordered the flipside breakfast. We both really enjoyed our meals. His came with crispy potatoes that were well seasoned. I couldn’t help but to assist him with eating them. He stated his steak was cooked well. My meal came with cheddar grits, eggs, bacon, and a gravy biscuit. The bacon was cooked perfectly. I rarely eat grits but the cheddar grits were absolutely delicious to me. I didn’t have to add salt and pepper to anything. I was not a fan of the biscuit with gravy. It tasted alright but I probably won’t order it again. The atmosphere was great! We were surprised to see they had a bar and a nice selection of drinks available. We both agreed that it is a hidden gem and will definitely return.

Food was great! I had the tomato bisque and the fried green tomato BLT with the truffle fries ($1 upcharge). I loved everything, but I could only eat half the sandwich - the portions are large. Also, you better like truffle oil (I do!) if you get the fries, it's strong on there. As it was lunch and I was driving around, I didn't get a beer but the tap selection looked really good.

great brunch! I’ve passed this place many times and never thought much of it but finally tried it today. The chorizo hash was very good and my friend got the artichoke avocado toast which looked amazing! Mimosas were also good but felt slightly overpriced ($10 for one wine glass that’s not even completely full) - the drink was nice but just felt a little pricey for what you get. The flight might be a better option…
Come early because it gets busy and I don’t think they take reservations. Service was also great!

Unexpectedly amazing! I discovered The Flipside searching for breakfast near Steel Creek. I am happy that I ventured a little further before returning home. The food and service are amazing. Observing the patrons, I didn't notice one frown to indicate displeasure.

It is a modest, family friendly, store front eatery with a good selection of wines to accompany delectable menu items. I elected for the mimosa flight consisting of 4 small mimosas (butterfly pea flower, pineapple, blackberry, and hibiscus). My meal consisted of fried green tomatoes atop a bed of lemon vinaigrette arugula salad subbing the bacon for vegan chorizo, pancakes, and a side of fruit. I was completely full, even lessening my portions; then having to take food to go. Breakfast is m-f 7 to 11 am, s 9 to 1 and Sunday brunch is 9 to 2 pm.

My server, Rachel, was accommdating after arriving a few minutes past breakfast, allowing me to select breakfast items. She was helpful with selecting items as well as exhibiting a great deal of professionalism and politeness.

The atmosphere is quaint with 2 sides for standard seating as well as the bar. The music was the icing on the cake. The playlist was the essential top 100 hits throughout the decades.

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this rich dining experience to the tune of less than $40, surprisingly. I will be returning and highly recommended.

I enjoyed my solo dining experience! I visited during “Celebrating Savor Charlotte” week, so I had the pleasure of purchasing 3 courses for $35. The salad was beautiful! So nice on the palate and not too filling, leaving you dancingly joyful to have finished it and moving to your next course. My trout was made to perfection, with a ever so pleasant crust all around. However, the risotto stole the show! I didn’t want to take a bite of my trout without my side piece (peace being what it brought me 😂). And for dessert, sweetness of cheesecake with donut crust of love, it was just what was needed to end my evening. It reminded me a strawberry with cream cheese toaster strudel. Hopefully it isn’t a seasonal optional, because fellow Googlers..you simply must try it for yourselves!

Oh my lanta! So glad we found find gem! All of the food was absolutely amazing! Presentation was on point. The staff were friendly and helpful. I normally judge the quality of a resturaunt by their shrimp and grits or fried green tomatoes- they had both and oh my word, SO GOOD! I recommend asking for a side of ranch for the FGT but I love ranch. BUT if you’re really wanting to elevate it, take a spoonful of the shrimp and grits on the FGT and be prepared to see stars!

Absolutely cannot wait for my next visit!

I tried brunch here one Sunday and went back the following Saturday! It is so good! The first day we had to wait quite a bit for a table but I found out you can make a reservation (if it's the day before not day of) so the second time we sat right down. The two servers I had were phenomenal. The food was fantastic and comes out so quickly. I will 100% be back!

First visit. Had the shrimp and grits and the truffle fries. Excellent! Hands down the best shrimp and grits I've had on the east coast. Truffle fries, just needed more of that truffle gravy sauce! Wait staff was friendly. Small wait time, but perfection takes time and it was worth it.

The food, the atmosphere, and the staff are all so wonderful at Flipside!

We stopped in for Sunday brunch and it was such a cute and delicious meal! I'm glad we got lost on our way home from Charlotte and stumbled upon this place.

We will definitely be making this a go to stop!
