Chicken Shack

This is a really cool place right off route 66. The food is excellent with plenty of options for chicken, pork chops and strips. Sauces are fantastic to accompany sides and chicken. Highly recommend stopping here if on route 66 or off I-35 area.

Today, after a long time desiring to try it, my bride, her mother, and good friends of ours converged at the Chicken Shack in Arcadia to break bread..

Situated on the east side of Arcadia, along Historic Route 66, it offers a wonderful departure from the typical brick and mortar restaurants found in OKC and its suburbs..

Two large dining rooms combined with a large outdoor dining/entertainment area make this a pretty cool venue..

Our party sampled their chicken chunks, chicken strips, green beans, fried okra, and their jalapeño cornbread.. Everything was reported to be deelish..

I personally sampled the half bird, pressure cooked in peanut oil and the green beans..

The chicken was lightly breaded and seasoned and cooked to perfection.. The pressure cooking process delivered a delightfully crisp skin and juicy (not greasy) chicken within.. The pieces weren't overly large, so I was able to finish all four with relative ease..

The green beans are the best I've had in some time.. Wonderfully seasoned with bacon and onions and very tasty..

Aside from a few service-related hiccups and never receiving an ordered side of coleslaw and still being charged for it, we had a wonderful time. Menu pricing was reasonable, too..

All in all, we enjoyed things enough to want to make the 55-minute commute up there again and would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed broasted chicken in various forms..

They offer fried pork chops and a few other menu items, so we will expand our scope the next time around..

Tons of fun games and great food! I loved playing corn hole and in the sand volleyball pit with my friends! Went with a church group and service was excellent for the chicken we ordered which was also amazing. Has cool outdoor seating and all sorts of fun adult drinks inside! Recently went back with family and it was also a blast! Had a great waitress and no wait. Amazing mtn dew btw.

Looked and smelled great but smoker was broken the day i went in and their gluten free options are non existent without the smoker. Hope this is helpful for gluten free people

The food here is absolutely amazing. The siracha bourbon wings are very good! The barn door drink was my go to. Outdoor seating was nice, got to set next to a live band while eating and not far from the huge fire pit. I plan to return to this place, over all I highly recommend.

Definitely worth the stop!

What a fun venue to meet up with friends celebrate enjoy the open air if you choose. The music was great . The food was well prepared tasted delicious and filling. Drinks were cold and refreshing. The wait staff were friendly and efficient ...... Come out and enjoy yourself

Just down the street from POPS. Chicken was delious and so moist and tender. Due to the fact, after asking our waitress, the chicken is pressure cooked in fresh funeral oil at high temperatures, makes for a very juicy full of flavor very tender chicken.
Service was fast and friendly. They were very busy but still had room to seat us immediately, due to mostly it’s large inside dinning and it’s ginormous outside dinning experience. Everyone’s having a great time and eating amazing chicken l, the time we visited there were live music which was definitely a bonus, setting outside after the sun had went down making temperatures cooler. Definitely would go again.
Highly Recommended, especially if you’re a chicken person. You would not believe the massive amount of chicken coming out of their kitchen piled high. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that much chicken at one time, and I am a chicken lover.
It’s a must stop! Or call in a order Togo to pick up at their take out window. We had the chicken the next day and it’s was just as good and juicy.

Great place to bring the Family. The food is par excellence along with the service. The chicken is as described, to die for! I wish they would have had honey for my chicken, I will most definitely bring some next time. Thank you Chicken Shack for an outstanding experience.

What a cool place this is. A lot of dining area, inside and outside. A full bar, and a good menu. They even have live music quite often. If your alone or with a huge group they can probably take care of you.

I was with a party of 4, so we got the family meal. They gave us so much okra! It was awesome. The chicken is very good! Arrived nice and hot. Good variety of sauces to go with it. Potato wedges were good too. Service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and just all around awesome. I will definitely be back and recommend this place.

Amazing chicken, amazing catfish, amazing pork. Bonus for to try the pizza from pizza shack and it was awesome too. Owner is a great guy. And this place has a great vibe. We'll drive over an hour just to eat here

Great food. The back room is cooled by fans. Lots of room so no wait time for us. 1 pool table so put your quarters in quick. Food comes fairly fast.

Had the Garlic Parmesan wings and the family sized Mac and Cheese and both were amazing.
Our waitress was great as well as the overall experience. Definitely going to be back.

We come often and always enjoy our time here. Food is great! The chicken has the perfect amount of crunchy crispy skin to the moist juicy meat. The shack Mac is a favorite of ours as well as the jalapeño cornbread! Oh and the fries are amazing!! Until next time, the kids always enjoy when loose gravel is performing, they call them "loose gravy".

Best Chicken you may ever have! If you find yourself within driving distance from this place do yourself a favor and take that trip and enjoy a meal that will leave you wishing you had more room in your belly. I had a half bird with Mac & cheese mashed potatoes topped with chicken gravy and a piece of pecan pie. I practically slipped into a food coma I was so stuffed. I live in California but I would definitely come back to Oklahoma just for this place.

Atmosphere was great, I had wings with mild sauce and it was the perfect amount of heat, my husband had chicken strips with mashed potatoes and gravy everything was wonderful. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

The Chicken Shack lives up to its reputation as a go-to spot for fried chicken that's in a league of its own. Hot, crispy, and freshly brined, the chicken here is a culinary home run. When it comes to sides, it's hard to go wrong. The battered fries are a crispy delight, and the mashed potatoes with white chicken gravy are a must-try. If you're like me, you'll even order extra gravy for dipping. As much as I loved most of the sides, the jalapeño mac could use a bit less cheese to avoid a gritty texture. For those wanting a veggie fix—albeit fried—the green beans laced with bacon as well as the fried okra are excellent choices.

While the restaurant seems to be in a perpetual battle with Oklahoma's fly problem, they do their best under the circumstances. Situated just a short drive from OKC down Route 66, the rustic charm of The Chicken Shack makes it well worth the trip.

Loved the chicken, the waitresses were so friendly and helpful. You could tell they enjoyed their jobs. Fun atmosphere, very rustic. We enjoyed the whole meal. The chocolate fudge cake was just like the ones my Mom made when I was a kid, so nostalgic. We will be back.
