Elevated burgers in a college town burger joint. The beef is flavorful not too salt you and the patties are thick. Cooked accurately. The veggies are fresh and crisp. Bison is an option. They have lots of options for building your own burger as well as specials. French fries are crispy on the outside and light in the inside, like boardwalk fries. Sweet tea is okay but not sweet enough.

Great in every way! Burgers were great & the options to build em was aplenty. Atmosphere was groovy. Service was virtually just bar service & you handle the rest. Definitely going to return & highly recommend. Many options for allergies, vegan selection, etc.

Even though this place is known for burgers highly recommend the grilled chicken caesar picture and photo was a small. Great prices some of the best cheese fries we have had! Not sure who can eat a triple Patty but my son had a double Patty and could barely finish. Go check them out! Good sitting area and friendly quick staff.

Stopped in based on previous reviews and glad we did, food was great. It was my daughter and I after passing through town for a soccer game.

Environment was fun, had a college dive feel to it with 2 tvs and a self serve seating.

Staff was nice, they bring the food out to you but it is counter service ordering.

Food is great, the burgers are hand pattied and the buns are super good. Toppings are fresh and you can go the way of build your own or pick from a list of menu burgers. Fries are awesome and portion sizes are pretty good. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and a double Fire Roasted Jalapeño Burger. I could have done with a single patty burger but I had big eyes.

Highly recommend this place for great food with fair prices and good portion sizes.

Still one of the best, if not best, burgers in town. Fries are the best. Hand cut and fresh! Vegan options are not just for vegans too. They're delicious!

If you have a chance to stop at this place do not skip it. This place seriously took my family and I by surprise when we received our orders. These burgers are SO delicious and huge! I size and thickness of the beef patties were huge. And if you like sauces with a little kick you have to try the dragon sauce. We will definitely be coming back to Buns in the future.

PS - The customer service was pretty great too. Fast, friendly and funny staff.

Well guess what? You can find a real burger in Chapel Hill. Fun place hidden in plain sight. Park in lot across the street. Hand cut FF and fresh toppings. This is a $9+ dollar burger place so be prepared to spend.

Hands down one of THE BEST veggie burgers I’ve ever had! I’ve been a vegetarian for 3 years. This veggie burger was made out of actual vegetables and grains. No fillers or byproducts.

I usually stick with black bean burgers, or my own house made patties, because restaurants cannot seem to make their vegetarian options tasty, or they use fake meat like impossible and beyond. NOT these guys!!!

I’m so lucky that I randomly found this place. It’s also a 3 minute walk from my new job in Chapel Hill. I’m definitely going to be a regular customer.

Absolutely delicious!! I got the chorizo burger and it was so delicious and filling! The avocado was the perfect touch to balance out the spiciness of the burger!

One of the best places on Franklin Street. Loved it during undergrad and now as an alumni. Even during a pandemic, they had great service, food, sauces, and a short wait time for the food. I got the Yoko Ono - a retired burger that's savory, and fries with the dragon sauce.

This burger place is FANTASTIC.
I loved the burger, fries, and sauces. It was prepared in a really short amount of time for being such great quality. I got the Cajun burger with sweet potato fries and immediately fell in love. This is one of those burgers that you’d be okay with burning your tongue for.
The people that worked there were super friendly.

loved it, I am a large man who couldn't finish his burger...this has never happened before. This joint is a 5 guys killer, I asked my wife if we could move closer. Very nice and cool guys working, the quality and quantity of the burger and fries were amazing, the price seemed cheap when I got the food and said wow. (Don't go increasing the price cuz I said that)

The burgers and fries were both delicious! They were quick with my order ~2pm. Kinda bummed that sides are separate but we enjoyed the fries!

Jalapeno cheeseburger and fresh fries were great! Friendly service too. Hope a Buns comes to my town soon.

College town vibe, delicious burgers create your own or choose from the menu. Fries are freshly cut they also have cut fresh sweet potato fries. My burger was cooked perfectly and the customer service was great too! I didn't have fries, but my son did and loved them. Bison burger is also an option!

I did expect on having a great experience here because the ratings. The food indeed is pretty good compare to other American Style fast food. I like the loaded fries. I tried something similar at other place and they are too cheezy which is not good for somebody has stomach problems.
I ordered the salmon sandwich and the server recommends the toppings with wasabi. I not a fan of wasabi but it wasn't bad. Hope to try something new next time. Definetly will go back.

Today was my first visit to chapel hill after recommendation from my friend for “Buns”, and it was worthy to make the trip, Its not like any burger, its unique and the taste is amazing, i ordered a triple and the triple was big 😅, definitely i will visit it again and recommend my friend about it

Hands down the best burger in Chapel Hill! Lots of great burger choices and my Brie burger was cooked to perfection. The hand cut fries are to die for as well. We were so impressed at the great service and very family friendly as well!

Great food. My partner has allergies and preferences that limit her burger choices. They have various patty options and gluten-free buns. They have the second best sweet potato fries I have ever had.
