Chapel Hill Wine Co

I came to Chapel Hill from Japan in April. I'm a wine enthusiast, and I was truly surprised to find such a wonderful store in Chapel Hill. Even considering the depreciation of yen , the wines here are more affordable than in Japan. The selection is impeccable (although they don't carry DRC; correction they do!!!), and high-quality wines are sold at reasonable prices. I'll definitely come back to browse more thoroughly.

Long time customer for over 15 years. I really appreciate their special order ability and delivery. A great Indy wine shop in chapel hill and though I live in Raleigh they’re the only wine shop I use.

Went here looking for a wine that my wife loved in Kiawah Island. I searched a lot of places but was unable to find it I guess because it is a small vineyard in Oregon. They contacted one of their vendors and were able to get it for me. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Really cool spot with a ton of different wines and if they don't have it they can probably get it for you.

This is far and away my favorite wine store and the one I consider the best in the area. When COVID hit and there were shortages on everything thing my panicked wife said "what if there's a shortage on wine!?!" Which I took as a cue to build a small cellar and stocked it pretty much entirely with inventory selected and recommended for me by Chapel Hill Wine Company. They regularly introduce good deals on very nice wines, often those that are underappreciated and little known. They also carry a lot of "cellar defense" basic bottles you can buy by the case as daily drinkers. I get regular emails throughout the week and they often have enticing offers that I snap up. They host occasional tastings and will give you lots of advice if you need it or just point you in the right direction if you don't. Great folks here and at their sister store in Hillsboro. Highly recommended!

Chapel Hill Wine Company has been my go to wine store since I moved to the area over 7 years ago. They have consistently exceeded my expectations during that time.

I love being able to email them with questions, order online, and have my wine ready for pickup. Super convenient!

My parents live nearby and come here all the time-the wine selection is excellent, their suggestions are reliable, and the employees are always friendly and pleasant. The wine tastings on Thursdays are particularly fun (and free!). They also helped us pick out all of the wine we provided for my wedding-everyone loved it, and it was reasonable on the budget! Highly recommend this establishment if you want some great wine in the Triangle at a reasonable price.

This is my favorite wine store, even though it is a 20 minute drive for me. They have a well-curated selection, make very good e-mail recommendations, and they have great offers on futures. They have an overall "value" orientation: good-to-great wines at good prices.

I've not actually been inside the store prior to the pandemic era. I've ordered online (a first rate web experience) and picked up curbside (also, a first rate experience). The best thing is the period emails that I get, describing featured wines. I'm not a wine expert, so the emails are very helpful. Prices seem to be good, if you are looking for something better than the cheap stuff at the grocery store.

Nice wine shop with a nicely chosen selection. The enomatic allows you to try about a dozen different wines before you buy and they have some tables outside to enjoy your wine.

This has got to be the best wine shop in the state, and it would be hard to beat nationwide. I live almost 3 hours away and still buy most of my wine here! Great people, great selection, amazing prices. They won't steer you wrong.

I love this place. The emails are like reading best seller novels about wine! Always look forward to that. Stroke of marketing genius and has me buying way too much wine. They really seem to know red wine.

Regardless of your budget this is the best wine store in the Triangle. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable and the wine selection is great. Their prices are also the most competitive I've found so you get great wine for reasonable prices with a good case discount policy.
