Coffee here is always good and reliable, the service depends on who is serving you ha! We like their lattes, and they put out a pretty pretty good flat white. Prices are more than I’d like, but they have great breakfast sandwiches and pastries too. We love the London Fog scone!

Definitely, our favorite coffee place in Durham-Chapel Hill area. Nice coffee, great pastry, and calm place—everything you need to enjoy coffee and get relaxed.

If I could give 10 stars I would!! This place is so personable, lovely, full of epic sweeties who make great coffee! Try everything from the honey almond latte (magic vibes) to a simple drip coffee and a pastry. Wish I could come every day! 😎🤞and now they have a little troll to greet you behind the bar (zoom in)

I really love the warm atmosphere here, and the crucial thing is that the coffee from the male barista at Van Gogh tastes especially delicious. Got my coffee this morning, make sure to stop by on your way to work. You might fall in love with it.

So many reasons to love this place.

Their coffee is always delicious, and the space has a great vibe with fun art. They have a rotating menu of special drinks and eats. The staff are friendly.

For remote workers: the wifi is strong, they have outlets, and they used to have a printer (IDK if they still do).

TL;DR I love the hot lattes, delicious food, and fast, friendly service. Only downside is it's always full & hard to find a seat.

There are a lot of things I love about this place: their hot lattes are consistently piping hot, often with beautiful latte art. The staff is friendly, and the service is WAYYY faster than other coffee shops. I've rarely waited more than 5 minutes for my latte, even after waiting in line to order. The breakfast sandwiches and pastries are also delicious and served piping hot (bear in mind the food items come from another location that has a kitchen).

My only gripe with this place is that it's always so full that it's often hard to find a table. This really is my favorite little cafe, so it's actually kinda frustrating that it's so hard to find a seat - otherwise, I would literally be there EVERY day enjoying a hot latte "for here" (and that says a lot considering I'm on a graduate student budget). I tried for a week straight to go there in the morning and study, but each time was unable to find a seat. It seems like a lot of the tables are occupied by regulars who seem to be a tight-knit group. Don't get me wrong - I love to see the community coming together, but it does mean there's not always enough space for new comers. If your loyal customers are always packing out your café, then perhaps it's time to consider adding a few more tables or adjusting the layout so more people can gather. Hopefully, this issue will resolve itself once the weather warms up and people can use the outdoor tables.

My advice: get there before 8am on a weekday, or your dreams of grabbing a table to study and peacefully sip a latte are toast.

Friendly staff + consistent drinks + good assortment of baked goods = a great neighborhood cafe. Decor could use a bit of an upgrade & it’s in a strip mall, but still enjoy the vibes and that they have outdoor seating.

Total yum! Any place that knows what a real macchiato is is alright in my book, but JVG also knows how to make a tasty macchiato!

This is a great location. Easy / ample parking. Open / spacious interior. Modern feel. Friendly / knowledgeable staff. Plenty of seating both inside and out. Well kept (clean).

By the way, the pretzel roll is kind of amazing.

The cashier was charming, efficient, and knowledgeable. The space is a trendy decor, a welcoming and fun vibe. Music was topshelf. 10/10 would go again/recommend

Great coffee. Locally roasted beans and great group of baristas. The beans are from Café Femenino, whose coffee is sourced exclusively from coffee farms owned and operated by women. These organic, Fair Trade, coffee beans are craft roasted in Hillsborough, NC just a few miles away. I usually order a triple expresso and is always a great pour.

Great coffee! Great service! I especially love their seasonal peppermint latte. It's one of the few spots where you don't have to pay extra for alternative milk products, which is a big plus in my book.

They have some great coffee! I’ve always been a big fan of nitro infused cold brews and they have one of the best in the area. I also recently got a growler to make my own nitro cold brew, and have been using their beans. The red river blend is absolutely incredible for it.

Finally a great quality coffee house in the area... team is fast and gets the coffees out with priority. Scones are fresh and very good as well!

Nice coffee shop with their own roasted beans. Indoor and outdoor seating. Can buy bags of whole beans here and they are happy to grind them if you need it.

Still requires masks indoor when not seated at this time.

If Joe Van Gogh has 1000 fans in one of them. If they have 100 in one of them. If they have 1 it’s me. If they have none, I’m dead.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Chapel Hill! The baristas are all kind and cool people, and the coffee is consistently delicious. This is the only spot in town that I know of that doesn't have the upcharge for non-dairy milks, which is an extra plus for me.

Got an awesome cappuccino at JVG on Weaver Dairy Road today. McKenzie made it. The flavor was wonderful! I don’t normally buy coffee at a coffee shop anymore as I’m from Anchorage and we had wonderful espresso there. But this was fabulous. McKenzie really knows how to make an excellent cup!
