Worked for cat vets for over 10 years and I wouldn't bring my cats anywhere else! We moved to Burlington and making the drive because it's HARD to find really good vets Dr. S and Dr. E are both AMAZING! Very compassionate for both humans and cats but honestly it's clear your cat is their priority and when it comes to a vet I personally want it that way!!! They also deliver exceptional customer service so it's perfect in my mind

I love coming to this vet. Since it is cats only, it’s a much calmer experience for my little kitties because there are no big noisy dogs in the waiting room or in the back. All of the staff here is very nice, vets and vet techs and front desk staff. Everyone is courteous and helpful. They were even sweet and friendly after dealing with my very nasty young cat who gave them a hell of a time in the back! Dr. Szymkowski has seen us through three cats. She always gives us the information we need to make a decision and lets us know the costs upfront so that we can be informed. She doesn’t try to sway us to do anything we’re not comfortable with and explains the risks/expectations involved with all our decisions. She saw us through the loss of our precious Lenny and has helped us with MewMew’s various adventures and health scares. I recommend this vet to all of my cat mommy friends! Thank you Cat 🐱 Hospital!

Literally saved my cats life. I had been taking my cats to another vet and watching them slowly deteriorate. One cat was beyond helping but the other has been put on a special diet and is growing and gaining weight again. They also are wonderful with the feral cat that I adopted. Tiger doesn't object to going to the vets. They've managed to figure out a great way of keeping the clients healthy and safe during the covid epidemic. I can't say enough about these wonderful caring people.

me and my cat love it here. the level of service is impeccable. for example, they not only gave me travel medicine, but also gave a slew of helpful tips and suggestions for how to administer. they’re also really good with my shy, growly cat.

We love bringing our cat here. Dr. Z is great and front desk staff are friendly and attentive. They do have drop off appointments (bring your cat there in the morning and pick up in the evening) which may be convenient for some.

I left Durham a year ago but this is one thing I feel like I miss the most since my move. I wish I had someone like Dr. Szymkowski in the area that I live now--they'd always give me advice that I felt spoke to my cat's best interests. Looking at the patient history documents I can really tell Dr. Szymkowski and the staffs here care. Highly recommend.

We’ve been taking our kitties to the Cat Hospital for more than 12 years, and we love the folks there so much. In that time they have helped us through a lot, including end-of-life care for two elderly cats and emergency surgery to save another. Dr. S stayed until 10 pm to save our boy that day. She is a wonderful vet — incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, kind, and patient. Great at explaining in terms we can understand. The vet techs and office staff are always so helpful. I can’t recommend the Cat Hospital highly enough.

The Cat Hospital has attended to my cat's health needs for over 4 years. Every technician we've worked with has been very gentle while handling my cat (to the extent that my usually shy girl doesn't seem to mind being held during her exam). Dr. Szymkowski is incredibly kind and excels at clearly explaining health concerns. I appreciate the Cat Hospital team!

I'm so thankful to have found a place that truly cares for the animals they take care of. They treat my kitties with care and love every time we go in for a checkup.

Edit: Just updating this review to say The Cat Hospital is still the best. Over the years, I've relied on them for my two cats and they've always been so kind and caring. One time stands out in particular: My older cat, Harry, had an emergency over a weekend and had to be taken to a different emergency vet. We thought we were going to lose him, and I was very distraught. On the following Monday, I called the Cat Hospital to inform what had happened and to get a post-emergency game plan with Harry's normal doctor. When I called, Dr. Edwards-Seal had already reviewed the entire case (forwarded by the emergency clinic) and was ready to talk about it and how we were going to get Harry through everything. I was so thankful to have her there, it instantly made me feel like someone cared and was going to do everything possible to keep Harry with us. That was six months ago, and Harry is still here, as normal as ever.

I absolutely adore these people, and I've never felt anything but warmth and care from them when it came to dealing with my cats. I am getting ready to move across the country, and I am almost certain I will not find their equal where I end up.

We just love The Cat Hospital and their awesome staff! It is great that they only take care of cats so that our kitties don't get scared by barking dogs on our visits. We have gone to many vet over the years (due to moves) and The Cat Hospital is definitely our favorite. Dr. Edwards goes above and beyond! We recently had a cat with pancreatitis and the staff was so caring and proactively followed up with us to check in on her. They are a very professional business and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a place to take their cats.

This is the best veterinarian office I've been to with my kitties. They are so sweet and very very fair priced. I heard the word x-ray and just knew it would be outrageous but it was very reasonable! The vets and staff are so sweet and seem to really care about my kitty! They even waited for me after hours to pick up an anti-biotic my kitty needed to start right away. I am so pleased with our experience here and will be taking my kitties here from now on!

Dr. Edwards and her fellow staffers exemplify everything a dedicated cat guardian could ever ask for in a veterinary professional. She and the entire Cat Hospital staff are prompt, reliable, passionate, detail-oriented problem solvers who genuinely care for the well-being of their feline patients (and their human guardians). I have lived all over the country and utilized no less than eight different vets over the past decade. I can say without hesitation that this hospital is profoundly and indisputably the best veterinary practice I have ever used.

The Cat Hospital of Durham and Chapel Hill is a great place to bring your cat. I love that they don't have any big barking dogs in their lobby. They treat my cats like they're their own pets. I have one cat with a lot of health problems and the vet here came in on her day off to consult with another lead vet about his issues. She said she thinks about him on her long runs! They love my cat almost as much as I do and I feel confident that they're giving both of my pets the best care possible. This isn't just a job to them, it's their passion. So happy I found this place.

Wonderful. Dr. Mary Szymkowski is very knowledgeable and answers all questions a nervous/concerned cat owner has. I have two cats with two very different personalities. One of my cats was very uncooperative, but the team took very good care of her and carried on with the wellness visit despite my cat's objections. Thank you for your professionalism and perseverance! If you're new to the area and/or need an awesome vet, book an appointment here!

I am so happy to have found this wonderful hospital! I am extremely picky about where I will take my cat for treatment and who I will allow to handle him, but I could not be any happier with the services here. Every single staff member I have encountered, from the front desk to the doctors, has been absolutely outstanding. They are knowledgable, kind, patient, and though I always have a lot of questions, they never make me feel rushed during my cat's exam. The communication between staff members is excellent, and I always receive a timely response when I call or email. On top of all of that, I have found their prices to be quite reasonable. This hospital is by far the best in the triangle for our feline companions!

They have a very knowledgeable and caring staff! The Cat Hospital has provided primary care for all of my cats, which have ranged in age from kittens to super senior. I also use their boarding services when I go of town and feel comfortable knowing my babies are in great hands! Thank you!

Five stars does not even begin to describe how good The Cat Hospital is. We have taken our cats here since we moved here 11 years ago and they have been wonderful in every way in taking care of them. This included many regular checkups as well as a few out of the ordinary things, such as a broken hip and the rehab that followed, and much later a complicated tooth extraction. If you are looking for a vet for your cat, this is the place to go.
