Great, local eats. Try out the newer menu items that feature birria tacos. Burgers and fries don’t disappoint. Fries sprinkled with coarse salt.
Burgers are juicy and perfectly cooked. Plenty for kids and adults alike. The owners are expanding to the space next door and should be a nice addition for larger group outings.

Our first time here - delish! Great local craft beer, our orders of fish tacos and Sierra Vista hot dog with fried jalapeños were amazing, and I always appreciate a great handcut fry addition. We’ll be back!

Came here the other day and all I can say is Fiesta Fries !!! You have to try them, they were amazinggg. Our waiter was super sweet as well. I will definitely be returning to explore more of the menu

Great food and service, friendly atmosphere. They recommended a spicey sauce I fell in love with and was already in love with the truffle one. It's always worth the money and a must-have when im in the area. **please add jalapeños to the burger topping selection 😋 **

Our favorite local burger spot has new owners but same great flavor. We love the new menu items as well. Pictured are the fish tacos with mango salsa. Amazing!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Gov's Burger and Tap tonight! I had seen in a separate post that they have heated outdoor dining and I am always game to try a good burger. They exceeded all expectations! Best burger and fries that I've had in Chapel Hill! Before you ask, yes, I've been to Al's, Town Hall, Four Corners, Carolina Brewery, etc. Gov's Burger and Tap will be my go-to from now on. Despite the 43 degree weather, we requested a table outside. With a smile, they invited us to sit outside and immediately lit the heaters. The bacon cheddar burger was delicious! Perfectly cooked burger and extra crispy bacon. Even without dipping sauce, the fries were great, and I was shocked by the amount. I'm not sure what's in their house aioli, but WOW! 😍 I would eat that on anything! Beyond that, the service was fantastic. The owner, Carmine, came out to check on us multiple times and was so welcoming! I am disappointed that we waited so long to try this great spot. We can't wait to visit again!

Super yummy! Big, greasy, cheesy burger... yummy, healthy, robust salad... and the gluten free bun was delicious! My partner and I got Gov's as carryout for a staycation date night. We each got a burger, and split the superfood salad, and it was perfect. We will definitely be going back for seconds!

Creative, Crafty and Tasty burgers is what you’ll find here at Gov’s. I got the burger of the week (I think it was week) and it was so good. Cooked to perfection and cleverly designed. Coffee rubbed patty with mozzarella, sautéed onions and a Dr Pepper BBQ sauce. Plus their sauces for fries are clever and tasty as well. I will be back and I’m bringing friends with me!

We just moved into the area and I stopped in to check it out quick and look at the menu. It was very nice inside, A little smaller inside but they have tables outside as well. The staff was so pleasant and the people dining there were so nice, giving up and moving seats to make room for everyone. I did not try a burger on this visit but I had the empanads and let me just say WOW, they were excellent! I'm very excited to go back and try the rest of the menu!!

The pimento cheese and bacon jam burger is delicious, as well as the fried zucchini with the house aioli. There’s a great variety of beers to choose from. There were no dogs at that time, but the dog menu got my attention.

Excellent food, service, wonderful friendly staff. Dine in or out. Handicap accessibility and parking. Kid friendly. Great place to dine alone, with family, friends or large group. We enjoyed our experience completely. Be sure to save room for dessert!

Enjoyed a delicious dinner outside. The shrimp tacos were very tasty. The owners are new. Great service, will return.

UPDATE (July 2023): Another tasty meal. Enjoyed the empanadas and tacos al pastor. Great sweet tea! Friendly service and relaxed, inviting atmosphere. Taking the cheesecake chimichanga home. Couldn't pass this up.

The salads are so delicious. Great dressings. Got a hotdog for a family member, and they loved it! The chili and slaw set it off. Can't wait to go back and try other menu items.

I had a pineapple cider with boneless Buffalo wings, ( it was okay amongst the others I had there ) - the wings were bit chewy

This was a really good burger joint! I wish I had remembered to take a photo, but by the time my friends and I remembered, we had already eaten most of the burgers! The wings we had as appetizers were delicious, and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. The burgers were fantastic! The owner was really kind, and the outdoor seating was pleasant even in January. The portions were big and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this place. Plus, it's a local business!

Wonderful burgers and hot dogs. I like the Roy Williams, though the weekly special burgers are usually great, too. The pretzel log appetizer is awesome. The service is amazing! Everyone is friendly and treats you like a regular. Highly recommended.

This is one of our go-to places, last night we had burgers, both cooked perfectly, fish n chips, always great, and the ACP, which was really good. Chicken tasty & tender, good spiciness etc. Service was very good!

Walked in and asked the waitress what can be cooked up fast. She said 5 minutes for a hot dog and fries and 5 minutes later I had a hot dog and fries. Both were good and I made it to my destination in time! Friendly staff and tasty food. Can’t beat it!
