Plenty of desks, office chairs, and countless other items.

You never know what you'll find at UNC surplus. It usually includes lots of filing cabinets, bookshelves 3-ring binders, laptop cases, and office chairs, but I've also seen framed pictures, building materials, sturdy dorm-type furniture, dishes, lab equipment (including microscopes on occasion), medical office furnishings, bulletin boards, old electronics, Christmas trees, and even some new, *big* Nike cleats. The best way to shop here is to drop in occasionally and see what has shown up.

Prices are very low, as most items are used, though some are new. The folks who work there are nice as long as you are nice to them and don't make silly, unreasonable demands. This isn't retail, it's surplus.

Great deals. New stuff every week. Already bought two computers here. Tons of filing cabinets, desks, office chairs, etc.

I try to stop here every time I am in Chapel Hill. Awesome bargains are here especially if you are running a business of your own. I have found folders, labels, tape, a desk, a chair, bins and a file cabinet here. It is worth a stop.

UNC Surplus shopping is one of the things I miss most due to COVID. Al and Rose are amazing people who are knowledgeable and kind every time I go in. I sure hope that UNC is taking care of them. I've gotten so many things for my nonprofit photo booth and event management side gig here and two computers for my kids. There's always something I have to look up because I don't know what it is. I look forward to their reopening. There is nowhere better in the Triangle to buy filing cabinets, office chairs, desks, 3 ring binders, and misc office supplies.

First time here and will definitely be back! Great prices on everything in stock. A great place to check on needed computer equipment, desk, bookcases, etc. before purchasing elsewhere.

You need to give yourself plenty of time to go through all that the UNC Surplus Store has in used office equipment, supplies, & furniture. You should NOT expect to find the latest models of computers or laptops here, as most things here are several years old. Still, I can't think of any other office supply store where I can get a decent large paper stapler, stamps that say "COPY", "DRAFT", or "CONFIDENTIAL", and a 2-hole paper puncher for less than $5.00!

Similar to habitat restore, very cool things and low prices too.

Open to the public M-F from 8 til 4, but closed from noon til 12:30 every day. Lots of desks, chairs, etc. and sometime unique and off-beat stuff, visit often and bring cash......no cards accepted.

Awesome place to pick up used office furniture and technology. This place has great customer service and always has something new every week or so.

Great prices on a revolving inventory of surplus

I have been anxiously awaiting their reopening. The variety is a little low right now. But everything is cheap.

Very interesting assortment of surplus items! If you are walking from the overflow R1/R2 lot, or R1 lot there is an opening in the fence to the left, close to the nearby building. You can walk straight through to the surplus store without walking on the road.

Great place to find nice office and home furniture! Love the staff as they are always willing to help!

Friendly staff, great prices. Got 2 nice desk chairs for one dollar each.

You can get a good deal if you aren't too picky, the service is good, and it's good for the environment with the recycling/upcycling.
