I love the model that the Alamo Drafthouse brings to the modern cinema. However, I will say your quality of service will be dependent on your server. Which we’ve had mixed feelings on.

That said, if you’re looking for a pure, film lovers experience. I recommend the Drafthouse more than pretty much any standard commercial theater chain. Their cell phone policy keeps the attention on the movie, and not on other things. Too many times have I been frustrated with a movie where someone is just tapping away on a bright screen right next to me. I’ve even had people taking flash photography in a dark theater, who does that?

So the cell phone policy alone makes me okay with giving Alamo a 5-Star rating.

Beyond that, it’s more geared towards adults as patrons. Not to say bringing your kids to movies is a bad idea, families have every right to see movies too. But this definitely helps for individuals who just want an escape to a peaceful theater to watch in a high-quality setting.

Overall, it’s theaters like the Alamo Drafthouse that keep me wanting to return to theaters. There’s just nothing the home theater can match to seeing a movie on the big screen with the rumbling sound permeating throughout the room.

It's want to see a really cool place there. They serve alcohol to have huge theaters. The place is just huge in general and the people that work there are very nice and helpful. When you're in the theater they have a menu and pencil paper, a button to press to write your order on and it'll be delivered to you. I would say it's a little on the high side but it's very worth it to me. They have an option for a season pass for $20 a month before one free movie every week. If that's not a still, I don't know what it is. We will definitely go back again and explore the rest of everything there.

This is the type of place that deserves the highest rating I could possibly give. Comfortable leather recliners, great menus, excellent service at your seat. I had a perfect experience here and felt very welcome.

I love this place! It can get a little pricey (but not more expensive than other cinemas) but in my opinion, it is absolutely worth it for the experience they offer and how they seem to care for their workers (a built in 18% tip to pay their workers) and their customers. The “movie parties” are absolutely lovely and show that they know how to cater to fandoms.

I absolutely loved our experience here! It was really so amazing and it made the perfect date night for my husband and I. I actually had never heard of this place, I received tickets to the Barbie early screening though so we went and now we can’t wait to go back! I know for a lot of people it may be out of the way, especially when there is the bigger very well known theaters close by. But I 100% think that it’s worth it to skip the other ones and check these guys out. Right away when you walk in it just feels more like a personalized experience vs walking into a business establishment. They have a lot of little touches that really give the place a special touch. Inside the theater is really nice. The chairs are so comfortable, the temp inside is perfect, sound system and volume was perfect, screen was great. The service staff was amazing. They offer full service right to your chair with a full menu available. My husband and I ate before the movie so we weren’t really hungry. Of course we got the bottomless popcorn and drinks but then the person next to us got mozzarella sticks which made us want some so we ordered that as well, they were really good. Everything was so clean. The restrooms looked and smelled cleaned. The floors were free of any popcorn or trash from previous movie goers. It was really a great experience.

Arguably the best theatre experience in Saint Louis. Be ready to bleed your wallets on the food. You might end up paying more for the food than the ticket. The seats are recliners and the service is great

This is an absolutely awesome movie theater. Plush seating, delicious food, expensive- but you get what you pay for. Perfect for date night or family movies. They have an older movie in rotation which I love. If I don’t find a new release that I want to see, I can generally find an older movie that’s being played on the main screen. Yay for the addition of the Alamo! (Added pictures of the food menu)

Watched Violent Night here and had dinner. The hot chocolate (spiked) special was worth it. Not sure how they got it perfectly hot yet drinkable. Must be Christmas magic — I still don’t know how that works ;-) Chicken and fries were great. Pizza was fine. Hubby liked the pizza better than I did. Service was in training but it’s working! They tried so hard to squat out of view of the screen. They’re gonna have to be so sore from that! We’ll be back. I want to try the cauliflower!

I've been here multiple times since the place opened. They have a huge food and drink menu. Everything is priced well or comparable to other franchises and the menu items rotate. They also accommodate many dietary restrictions.

They have accessible seating for anyone with disabilities and the chairs are comfortable and are electronic. They lean back really far and the aisles are huge so you don't have to squeeze by people.

There is no physical concession stand, all food is brought to your seat so you don't have to miss out on the show. There are multiple bathrooms close to each theatre as well. They have always been clean and private.

The servers and staff have are quick and I haven't had a bad menu item or experience yet.

The website also has a movie pass program where you can see 1/day for 20$ a month.

St. Louis has an Alamo Drafthouse! My wife and I were looking for a good place to eat and decided on going to the foundry. Just so happens there was an Alamo Drafthouse there. We decided to eat there instead. Turns out it was its second opening night. If you haven't been to an Alamo draft house yet, you're going to love it! You can order food and drink during the movie from your seat. Just write it down on a piece of paper and press the button to let your server know, they'll bring it to you. Delicious food and draft beers. Comfortable seating and inviting environment. We are excited to catch a flick here in the near future.

Was just noticing some of the negative reviews on here. Alamo Drafthouse is new to this area and it is going to take the employees a while to get all the kinks worked out. The same thing happened when they opened one up in El Paso Texas. Give it a couple weeks.

I have been wanting to visit Alamo Drafthouse since I heard of it back when you had to go to Austin to see a movie there. I loved it. Great screen and sound. The rules are a gift to movie lovers- no talking or cell phones or late comers and they are enforced, you will be asked to leave. The menu has a lot of selections from cocktails to burgers and pizza. Bottomless sodas and popcorn. The seats are fully adjustable and convenient ordering right to your seat on adjustable tables. I will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our first time visiting an Alamo. Very unique decor in the hallways. We had a great server. We appreciated being served our drinks and shake in reusable drinkware, rather than single-use cups or bottles. The seats were comfortable and reclined very low to give us a great viewing position of the screen, which seemed higher up on the wall than usual. The Food Hall and shops at the Foundry gave us plenty to enjoy prior to the movie.

Joshua and the team working last night’s Taylor Swift movie provided outstanding service. They took care of us from the time we sat down until we left. Our food
and drink orders were served in a timely manner meaning our food was delivered hot and our drinks cold. This is my favorite theater in the area but last night’s service was , by far, the best yet and it helped make for a fantastic night. I would highly recommend Alamo Drafthouse to everyone and I appreciate Joshua and the team’s professional and welcoming service.

This is my fave theater in STL because of its location and amenities. Super nice inside. The food service tends to be a little slow, and it's hard to order beverage refills or a second round of cocktails but outside of that; no complaits.

It has been 10 years since I have been to an Alamo Drafthouse and it has only gotten better with age. The decor has stepped up, the seat quality is top tier, the food is restaurant grade, & the service and film presentation quality is well worth the cost. In the Cinema contraction to come if this world is fair Alamo Drafthouse will like the Highlander be the last one standing.

Best movie experience I've had. The entire setup is geared to the movie experience.

Great variety of local and popular beer, good food, fast service, and a great setup.

We are lucky to have a chain that will play great movies and not just the super hero movies.

My mother and I went to see Fast X thid past weekend. I loved arriving early to see the curated clips before the movie and the staff were all so kind from checking tickets, to the bar to the staff waiting on us. Isiah was helpful and tentative. I loved the atmoshphere and the quality time seeing a franchise that my mom has loved for years. I did have one mishap in forgetting that there was a step down from the seats and landed my knee into the railing so there could be a watch your step marker but that was also my own clumsiness. For anyone not wanting to walk up stairs there is an accesible garage to the theater. We are going back in a few weeks for Champagne Cinema.

My friend and I had a great experience at the Alamo. Everything you would want from a paid movie experience. The seats felt clean and comfortable, the dining service was prompt, beer and snacks, and parking was actually pretty good, too. We saw a 9p show. We stopped over at the Foundery prior to the movie. Everything worked out well for a good evening.

Such a great experience! The movie wasn't my favorite and someone brought a baby to a horror movie which was...a choice. I only mention this because despite the dumb movie and baby crying I still had a great experience. Staff was nice and took great care not to disrupt the show. The theatre was very clean and bathrooms were very clean! Food was great and it's got a fun location! Will definitely go back.
