High Ridge Park

It's a hidden gem!!!!

Cons: Gets crowded a lot and needs more basketball hoops. The bathrooms aren't ever open or seem that why as I've never seen them open and I've been coming here since they first built it. The water fountains I have only seen work a few time but water has been hot.

Pros: Has a covered playground which is awesome for hot days and light rainy days. Has a few trails that are beautiful to walk in the fall and spring. Trails have lots of trees so summer time it's very shaded and cool. Trails are also paved so it's stroller friendly which is a huge plus if you want to walk or jog with babies/kids that are still in the stroller. There is a tennis court that is rarely used for tennis lol kids play in there more. Lots of parking and always a space available even when it's crowded some how. A fair amount of handicap parking also. Lots of open field for football, kite flying, picnics or anything else you want to do in an open field. There is a pavilion with lots of picnic tables and grills. Also picnic tables scattered around the whole park even down the trails. Huge rocks to sit on and/or play on they are also nice decor. Lots of trash and recycling cans but not tacky. Scenery is very beautiful. Very well upkeep and friendly people who close the gates at sunset.
I would recommend this park for sure.

Excellent part for small kids, a big outdoor gym with tent cover on AstroTurf. Excellent restroom facilities, clean, and well maintained. Call the Howard County Parks & Recreation to reserve a gazebo. This is the second time we’re here, first for my daughter’s shower, and now her daughter’s first birthday. Also the grounds are very well kept, and a system of trails that go down to the river.

Very live an busy playground that is comfortable an it's a nice size to have a birthday party or any type of gathering with family or friends.

Great place for a run, with paved paths and lots to do for kids! Basketball court, tennis court, playground, picnic tables, and restrooms.

Used this as an access point to fish the Patuxent. River was hard to get to, but I was eventually rewarded with a 1 pound bass. Also liked how I didn’t have to pay to enter either.

Nice, clean neighborhood park run by Howard County. There are tennis & basketball courts, a kids playground, a large, flat open field for kicking/throwing a ball around, and a paved path that circles through the woods. There is also a good size pavilion available for rental

Great shaded playground with bathroom building adjacent. Benches and picnic tables for adults to keep an eye on kids at playground. Pavilion close to playground. There happened to be a big birthday party going on while we were there, and despite being crowded, all kids and adults were getting along well, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the park. Saw lots of people with leashed dogs coming and going from the trails, so looking forward to heading back to check out the trails soon.

This park is pristine such a rare find. I had to contemplate whether to leave a review so it can be my little secret. Tennis and a basketball court available. A small jungle gym for the kids on soft rubber playground mat. There seems to be a trail not entirely sure. Dogs allowed as long as you clean up after them 😉. There are wooden tables outside or under a tent shaped structure where my friend and I sat to have brunch from T&J Waffles.

This park is kept very clean and the play area is cushioned with some sort of cushion material. It also has a trail and a fairly large grass area for kids to run around and a large covered area with tables and BBQ area and it can be reserved for special events.

It's a great park and there is a huge jungle gym, walking trails as well as a pavllion to have events/grill. The women's bathroom was not horrible. Over all a great place to take your kid and tire them out :-)

Great for a run or to play ball. Very clean as well.

I absolutely love this park. It's a Howard county hidden gem. Outside the paved area there is some real wilderness to get lost in. Lots of of little streams, rolling hills, wildlife, and access to the Patuxent river. I can't tell you how many deer, foxes, ground hogs, birds, squirrels, etc., That I have seen here. I love going on these nature walks with my dogs.

Unfortunately, there is a decent amount of garbage sprinkled throughout the woods. I suppose no one complains about it, so the county officials are likely unaware of it.

I can't say enough good things about this park, a definite hidden gem.

Quiet, beautiful, serene, & secluded way back behind a suburban community.
Has a playground, ball courts & fields, public restrooms, water fountains, barbeque grills, gazebos, walking/hiking trails (paved & unpaved) into & through gorgeous wooded acres, etc.

To get to it this beautiful secluded park, you either have to already know where it is or will need to follow gps directions.

I'm here in this area for a few weeks on a work assignment, & the only reason I found out about this park was because I was searching in Google maps for nearby Howard County Parks to take my dog to for exercise & invigorating walks & hikes. So, THANK YOU Google maps for helping me to find out about this park & then for helping me to get there without getting lost.

Very nice park. Well kept, nice trails and large open fields surround by large mature trees. We were there for a presentation about birds by a ranger.

Awesome park with easy access on foot. Plenty of activities available - basketball, tennis, 2-3 lounge areas, also a big chunk of land that could be used for football and soccer alike.

First playground I took my 2 year old Grand daughter to. And cried not to leave. A year later and she always asks to go. Winter, Spring, Summer an Autumn...

Very nice how everything is tied together with the asphalt pathways in the woods, so literally you can enter at my neighborhood and exit at the bottom of HIGH RIDGE, at the 🏞 Park. So nice and quiet.....

Perfect for a short afternoon out with the family. Good for bikes, walking, basketball, tennis, good playground, and picnic area. Nice paved and shady path.

Great park. Bathrooms are in a structure rather than porta potties and they are normally very clean. Great walking paths and a nice field for soccer and activities
