We had Joe and Jose as our tour guides. They did a good job of piggybacking on each other and the tour was very informative. It was very interesting to see how care used to be performed. Jose was very knowledgeable on medical practices. Great tour for anyone.

Went with my daughter’s school for a field trip and I was pleasantly surprised how engaging and interesting this stop was. Celeste was our tour guide, she was very funny and informative. I would definitely recommend making this stop.

This turned out to be a gem of a museum. Tina (our guide) did a wonderful job in making the history super interesting. We learned so much in the hour. It left me wanting to know more details so I will have fun researching some of the interesting tidbits about the Spanish influence.

The “Quackery: The Dark Side of Medicine” was worth every penny! Extremely informative, interactive, and fun! I work in the medical field and this taught me so much more! It was an amazing learning experience and so much fun! Definitely would recommend for anyone who is interested in learning more about the “dark side of medicine” and how much things have changed! Thank you so much for an amazing experience!

We went with a couple of medical people. The tour was extremely interesting to them. I don't know about the other docents, but Jose was excellent. He's passionate about what he does and is extremely well prepared. Plan on learning a lot!

This was a great experience! The tour guide was so enthusiastic and that made it that much better. Really interesting learning about how advanced medicine was then. Lots of tools to see, and he explained about the apothecary and procedures they would have done during war time. Highly recommend!

It is one of the friendliest museums in town. The docents are so knowledgeable, and they all love pups!
Katie was incredible!
I highly recommend it. It is such an interesting museum. Oh, and take your pups!

I love this museum! I've visited twice and would most definitely go again. You sit in the rooms and the tour guides tell you the history of the Spanish hospital during the time it was seeing patients. Each tour guide gives the same history, but they have their own way of telling it. So you learn something new each time.

Day two of family fun summer vacation kicked off bright and early with breakfast and a boat ride. Following some typical Florida weather of scattered showers every few minutes, we ventured into the St. Augustine Hospital Museum. My family and I were welcomed by very personable individuals, and had a stellar tour guide, Katie. Katie is very knowledgeable of the hospital’s history, tools/instruments, and surgical procedures. As well as, Katie is great with children and making sure everyone is having a blast. She also informed us of many different surgical cases, as well as the medicine and operation of pharmacy. All in all, this tour is well worth it and there’s a cute garden and gift shop at the end. Much history, laughs, and all in all a great time. Thank you and much appreciation!

Our family had a wonderful tour of this location. It is very small but very informative to the time period. We were able to expand on our current knowledge of different topics. The history of the building is great too. We loved our guide and he was very interactive. This is a great experience and worth checking out. It’s also in a great location and quick enough if you’re waiting a crazy amount of time for one of the larger nearby restaurants.

This was a great tour. The lecture by the wonderful woman was informative and interesting. I work in the medical field, so it was especially interesting to me. A wonderful History lesson that taught us many things we didn't know. We'll be back again.

Great tour, nice staff and guides. It is kind of small, but it makes for a really interactive fun group tour. While I was there, I got to do a demonstration where I removed a bullet from another guest arm. Very informative and cool!

My fiancé and I did this tour after meeting in front of the building last night for The Last Ghost Tour (also highly recommend). I’ve never gone down Aviles Street before, but this building sparked my interest, so we decided to come back today to experience it. All of the staff was kind and extremely knowledgeable, and we got a super informative tour of some of the procedures and instruments of what they would have used back when the building was a military hospital, as well as a run down of medicinal herbs that were used at the time. Stuff like this fascinates me so I really enjoyed the whole thing. Highly recommend, especially since this trip of ours we got to experience more of the history side of St Augustine!

Probably my favorite thing we have done in St Augustine, and I'm not even sure I was remotely interested in going before it was suggested to me. Not being in the medical field, wasn't sure I would find it interesting - but I was absolutely fascinated, especially after discovering the presentation is done by a live person playing the role of a Dr during the time period. He absolutely made the experience, and taylored our show based on the questions we had. His knowledge was extensive (wish I'd gotten his name) and it wouldn't have been nearly as good without his personal touch and excitement for the topic. Highly recommended, even for those with Littles - even if for a reprieve from the SA heat. Put it on your to do list!

This tour was good!!! It was a quicker one, maybe 40 minutes...so it was nice to fit this in and it was worth it. Learned quite a few things and the woman that gave the tour was knowledgeable and humorous.

This little gem is tucked away in downtown St. Augustine. You will need to park around the square or in a public lot since there isn't any parking right at the museum. I am OR nurse and this was so interesting to me! The staff are very knowledgeable and kind. A small self guided area is at the front. All tours are with a guide who extremely knowledgeable of the history in the hospital, town and era. They were able to give great descriptions and explanations of the items on display. Tickets are just over $10 per adult and well worth it in my opinion. Don't miss this gem if your in healthcare or a history nerd like myself!!
