Staff in midriff, civilian attire and whatever shoes.‼

Picked up glass with bare hands. ‼

Where is bus boy? 🤦🏼‍♀

45 minutes wait
Rooster decor ❤🌈💫

No water dropped. ❌

Glass for OJ instead of plastic ✅

Soda bar with classic old “granny mugs” 🦋

Napkins must be too expensive to give to a mom with a child. And the bathroom towels that fall on the floor must be cheap enough to just throw in the trash without cleaning anything else first. 🫵🏽🪞👆🏻🧼🫵🏽

The floors are disgusting. Extension cords visible and she was more worried about my dog being a tripping hazard than the brick by the front door. 💸

The Food is Amazing! I can tell that the owner was trying to bring back some of Grandma’s cooking! The Biscuits are perfect as if they came out of my grandmother’s kitchen after a fresh batch of flour was just milled! The Pumpkin pancakes reminded me of my brothers own recipe in the early 2000s .

The potatoes were perfect as was the Quiche! I can see why the wait was so long! The food alone is work the stop!

Delicious and highly recommend! We’re from out of town and decided to stop here on our way back to Tennessee. There was a bit of a wait (we were given a 30min wait but probably waited only 15), definitely worth the wait! The food was incredible. The biscuits and peach butter they give you were amazing. I got the 2 chicken biscuits which were a large portion! You do have to pay extra for sides (eggs, home fries) but it was worth it. My boyfriend got the hash and that was great too. If you’re in the area, stop here!

Delicious, comfort food! We had the fried green tomatoes to start. Then we had "The Yard Bird" and the "Pressed Pastrami."

The fried green tomatoes had a perfect coating with subtle but excellent flavor in the batter. It had a crispy exterior without being overly greasy or heavy...just absolutely perfect.

The gravy for "The Yard Bird" had some very savory flavors within the gravy itself. If you are one who would want the chicken without the gravy, we feel you would still enjoy it because the chicken was fried just as well as the green tomatoes. We chose the collard greens for the side but wow...they were the main star of the dish!

The pastrami sandwich was filled with a wonderful, juicy, tender pastrami and press grilled to perfection.

We can hardly wait to visit St. Augustine again just so we can dine at The Blue Hen Cafe again!

The Blue Hen Cafe is such a cozy spot for a great breakfast! Their food is amazing! Everything we ate was delicious and had such attention to detail. Highly recommend the pumpkin pancakes!! These are the softest, most delicious pancakes I’ve ever had! We went twice, I got the 2 eggs meal with home fries and a pumpkin pancake, and the kings French toast. My husband got the biscuits and gravy both days. Also recommend the iced coffee (the ice cubes are frozen coffee!)

Located in the historic Lincolnville district of St. Augustine, this was a local gem I was happy to hear about. The small parking lot on MLK and Kings Ferry Way was full, but we were able to locate a spot in the street nearby. We were told the wait would be about a hour but were seated within 45 minutes. They offered to take our number and text us when the table was ready, but we waited inside. Decided to try the Guava Pint Glass Mimosa. It was a nice twist to a traditional mimosa. The Chipotle pimento cheese with crackers and cucumbers was a nice start to lunch and the BBQ pulled pork and grits was delicious. While they were not able to accommodate my request for poached eggs, the over medium eggs were the perfect accompaniment. A dash of Cowgill's Datil Hot Pepper Sauce added the right amount of spice to the meal. I was also excited to try the peach butter and buiscut that I read was good enough to make you slap someone and was not disappointed.

Fabulous Food 5+ 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Superb Service 5+ 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Reminded me of having breakfast at my grandparent’s home back in the 1960’s, but with my favorite 70’s music and fabulously friendly service… what else could anyone want for breakfast?!!!?
Great job Blue Hen Cafe!!!

Terrific spot to grab an affordable breakfast (yes there is an all day menu) and or lunch. Solid combinations of all time favs some with a slight twist. Good sized portions served by a very helpful staff as well. I had the Yardbird (crispy chicken tenders in a bed of creamy grits with onion gravy). Collard greens on side. Clean facilities and the wait on weekends not too crazy (30 min and under). Looking forward to a return visit.

Walkable to and from the touristy area of St Aug and the neighborhood itself is well worth walking around for the vintage architecture, nearby shops and museum.

Food lived up to the hype for me. I had been looking for a great southern breakfast and Blue Hen Cafe hit the spot. The biscuits are huge and fluffy goodness! There i
was a bit of a wait, but for us on a Sunday morning, it was only 20 minutes. It's a little bit expensive but you get what you pay for so if you are expecting great food for Dennys prices you might be disappointed.

This place rocks. I ordered the two chicken biscuttis. Best I've ever had. Even better than Chick-fil-A chicken biscuttis. Wonderful experience!
Oh ya, the pint size mimosa's are awesome!

Great place for breakfast!!
We weren’t expecting that the place would be full during opening hours. It was super busy, so we added our name on the waitlist. It was like 20 minutes wait.

Loved our breakfast plates. Very very reasonable price and foods packed with deliciousness. Absolutely a place to stop for breakfast or lunch. Great service.

We went out to breakfast at the Blue Hen in St. Augustine. We ordered The King French Toast and the Biscuits and Gravy with over-easy eggs and sausage. Everything was cooked perfectly! Not only was the food delicious, the decor and ambiance was adorable down to the the old-school cafeteria-style coffee cups. We enjoyed every bite. The service was also top-notch; everyone was friendly and attentive. If you are in St. Augustine, I highly recommend you stop in to the Blue Hen, you won’t regret it.

Just had the most AMAZING breakfast at Blue Hen Café in St. Augustine! The biscuits were fluffy and buttery, the grits creamy and flavorful, eggs cooked just right, bacon perfect, and the house fries? Pure comfort on a plate. It’s not just the food that’s awesome; the vibe here is so cozy and welcoming. If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor and drop by. Trust me, it’s a meal you won’t forget!

Not typically a breakfast type of person but dang this place was worth it. Service and food are wonderful. Portions are more than enough. Everyone was full and happy after eating here.

Nice atmosphere, Leigh our wait person was extremely helpful and so friendly. 😁She was very attentive to us and her other customers. The food 🍲 was really tasty 😋 and my brother 👨🏽 in law said he hasn’t had a burrito that good since Colorado. (That means a lot) this is a big yes 👏🏻 for eating 🥣. Don’t miss this unexpected pleasure.

My husband and I visited St. Augustine for our anniversary and while all of the food we had was amazing this was my favorite. I am not a breakfast lover (my husband is) and I honestly chose this cafe because of the name (I am a crazy chicken lady.) Guys. That blue crab quiche was killer, absolutely full of crab. Crab in every bite. The breakfast potatoes were on point, possibly the best I have had, and I am somewhat of a potato aficionado. The addition of the house made pickles was so refreshing. The Datil hot sauce was delicious. I would return to St. Augustine just to eat here and shop at Southern Horticulture.

WOW! If you are in the mood for breakfast, you GOTTA come here. Their iced coffee has coffee ice cubes. 🤯 The food was outstanding! The waiter did a superb job. Love the look of the place. Be sure to go early or you will be waiting. Will definitely eat here again.
