Awesome gilded age home built in the style of the Alhambra castle in Spain. Had an excellent time learning the history behind the home. They have an impressive art collection as well. The Egyptian room is a must see!

I was in a similar museum in Turkey and Algeria. This is a much smaller version. The house is not big but very nice and warm in atmosphere. I recommend visiting. I was disappointed by the lack of Ukrainian or at least Russian language in the audio guide

Amazing museum. Frank Smith’s, from Boston, built this beautiful winter home. He created a construction material using shells for his home that was later used in the most important landmarks in St. Augustine!

Don’t miss this beautiful building with unbelievable history. I can’t believe that I just discovered this incredible experience!

So back in the day, a very rich dude fell in love with the Alhambra in Granada, Spain and decided to build an opulent winter home in Florida to resemble certain aspects of the Alhambra and other places he liked. He then spent even more money filling the place with Spanish, Italian, Chinese, and Egyptian luxury items including a harem swing.

In all seriousness, it was a great way to enjoy one of the lesser known attractions in St. Augustine. The Egyptian room was the most intriguing but you can't take photos there. The house is very intricate and definitely feels like you are in Spain.

Amazing little museum that perfectly captures the late 19th century, and later transformed into a testament to Moorish Revival spearheaded by its second owner, Abraham Mussallem. The museum first started out as a winter home, then became a dancing and dining social club, a casino, back to a home, lastly, the museum you see today. Take your time, read the history, and don't forget to visit the 2,400 year old Egyptian Rug on the second floor.

Wow!!! Magnificent exhibits and audio tour. All was very well laid out. Had to climb stairs, so be prepared if there are any challenges. Truly worth the trip.

This was fun to walk through. It does not take long. The parking was free for like 75 minutes.

Oh gosh I felt like I was in another era of time when I was at the villa zorayda. I was even luckier to have photographed a gorgeous wedding here too!

Beautiful museum. Amazing art pieces, just the furniture is worth the visit. So colorful. It was built with the Inspiration after the Alhambra Castle in Spain.

Definitely worth the visit and great value for the money. Spread over a couple of floors with an open courtyard in the centre that the audio navigation device makes it easy to see everything without confusion. Although the building itself isn’t centuries old some of the artifacts on display certainly are .

Small and well put together museum with interesting exhibition. We visited it on a weekend and I wasn't crowded at all. There is a self-guided audio tour. No photos are allowed.

Absolutely worth visiting if you like architecture and history. Beautiful building and history that goes with it and the antiques inside is very fun to learn about if you're history goofs like we are. The attendants at entry are very friendly and knowledgeable, they really seem to enjoy their jobs. We highly recommend!

If you're in St Augustine you MUST check out this Alhambra inspired building with the most amazing relics. They provide an audio tour included in your ticket so it's like having your very own guide! The staff there is wonderful and you will Oooo and Aaaa the entire way through!

Unexpected visit as we arrived early for the night of lights. This museum was a gem. Small, but packed with many unique items. You can do an audio tour, a very small gift area, and wonderful staff
