This place is great! The donuts are made fresh when you order (or you can order ahead). You pick the icing, topping, and if you want a drizzle on top for each donut. They also have a selection of “fan favorites” and specialty donuts to pick if the choices are just too much … so thank you for that!

The shop is clean and cute! The staff was friendly and very helpful. They paid obvious attention to hygiene while making the donuts. Totally reasonably priced. I’d definitely recommend stopping in and trying an experimental donut of your own creation or two or six…

Such an adorable donut shop in St. Augustine!!!! You can smell the donuts from the parking lot and are tempted to run in! The Donut experiment makes the donuts fresh to order but you get to pick the frosting, toppings and drizzle. My kids loved being able to pick the toppings and loved the hot and fresh taste. The donuts were tasted great and were a nice experience since they were fresh and crispy. The coffee was piping hot which was nice since it was freezing today. We definitely have to return and try some more flavors and the iced coffee.

This place is awesome. I love the art and the theme of this place. I love that every donut is handmade right in front of you. The taste is not overly sweet and the vanilla cake donut itself is super delicious....thanks for not over-cooking the donut part. The only downside, which is also an upside for many, is that they don't charge enough. They should be charging $24 dollars for a dozen instead of $14....I would gladly pay $2 dollars a donut for handmade specialty donuts made right then and there....and then I can immediately shove them into my drooling mouth ...hells yeah I would pay more. This place was great and the people were super nice.

UPDATED - The most delicious donut I've ever eaten! The shop was adorable and it's fun getting to create your own donut from scratch. It was still hot from the fryer and super soft. They offer different coffee drinks, Gatorade, and hot chocolate. The only reason I didn't give it five stars (oroginally) was an employee (it wasn't) came outside to the patio dining area and smoked while I was eating. He sat down on the ground a few feet from me. I think there are some other places he could have done that. I know that I was outside, but he could have gone around the back of the building or at least to the other side of the (except for me) empty patio. If you're eating inside though, the food is definitely worth it.
NEW POST: Someone from the business contacted me and corrected me that was a customer who was told not to smoke on the patio. That was very kind of them and I greatly appreciate it. I can't wait to come back!!!

We left this place as the last spot before we went back home. NO doughnuts made it back to Orlando, they didn't even make it into the car. We sat outside ate each donut we ordered. They have some speciality ones and you can also customize your own!

I would love to have one of these shops in Orlando, it's Different than your average donut shop it's an amazing Experiment!

The most amazing Donut shop possibly in existence. They literally drop fresh dough in to the oil when you order your donuts. Literally cannot get any fresher. They have a few options of suggested pairings but if you're feeling creative you can make your very own. You can select your icing or glaze, topping and a drizzle. Super soft and sweet with a nice crunch. I highly suggest eating them warm. They're so good. We grabbed another box on our way out of town and even 2 days later they are still better than most Donut shops fresh. We stop in every time we are in town and are always looking forward to going back. Amazing staff, amazing donuts. Do your self a favor and give this place a try I garuntee you'll be back, maybe even in a few hours!😅 - also got their house iced coffee this time and it was also very good!

Great selection and the doughnuts taste great and are made fresh. The only minor complaint, they are small in size and they taste so good u want more. The coffee is also yummy, I got the Americano with almond milk and it didn't even news sugar, it was perfect!!

Hot, fresh donuts any way you want them! They're fried, dipped, and finished right in front of you. We bought a half dozen so we could bring some back home to our kids, but ended up eating the whole box 🙈🤣🤷‍♀.

The maple bacon was our favorite and their coffee is way better than Starbucks or Dunkin. Definitely a MUST-STOP on your way out of town for a sweet treat on the road.

The thing that sets this doughnut shop apart besides the incredible flavors is that they make them to order and have a ton of options so no matter what you can get the right one for you. The size are a bit more on the smaller size but the price you pay makes it one of the best values in doughnuts I've ever seen at a fresh made doughnut place.

One bite in and my eyes rolled back in my head and I was transported to heaven if only briefly.

They have a really cool atmosphere too and had a mini Nintendo to play while you wait.

Also their coffee is amazing and well priced.

We had a very unusual cake request for my daughters wedding that required a donut shop as well as a cake bakery. Joey, from the Donut Experiment not only worked with us and bakery and the restaurant but also made the best donuts any of us have ever had! They delivered and help set up and were such a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!

If you've never been to a donut shop that fresh makes your donuts in front of you, then you are missing out. The Donut Experiment not only makes every order right in front of you, but you get to choose your glaze, your topping, and even a drizzle for each one. When you walk in, take a minute to look over the menu, then grab a clipboard, pencil, and an order sheet and start making your selections. The donuts come out fresh, hot, and melt in your mouth. This was an instant family favorite. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area!

I’ve tried every new donut place in St. Augustine and this is my favorite! The owner is exceptionally nice, the donuts are always fresh and warm, making new batches every 30 min or so, and the topping possibilities are endless. My favorite by far is a donut with chocolate icing, Reece’s pieces and peanut butter drizzle. The vanilla cake donut is amazing by itself or with a topping. Love coming here to get a donut and iced coffee, brought my kiddos here a few days ago and they are hooked for life! Please give this place a try!

I traveled ALL the way from San Diego solely for these godly hand crafted donuts by none other than Josh himself. Great customer service, felt welcomed every second of the way. If a donut alone could take down a god, it would these donuts done by josh’s delicate touch!

Such a cool little shop! You fill out a form to customize your own donuts or order one of the specials, like the sriracha or key lime donut. Your donuts and coffee are made fresh to order, and you can color or play old SNES games while you wait. It is a fun and unique experience and the donuts are yummy!

The girl didn't care about our donuts. We just wanted a couple of maple iced donuts with vanilla drizzle. This is what we got. Pretty disappointing
However the owner reached out quickly to rectify the situation and that to me is enough to make this a 5 star rating!

This was such an amazing experience! Flavor combos like no other and the made to order donuts are top notch! I never thought in a million years that Sriracha and peanut butter would go together but they made it happen!

Alejandro, our donut master, explained to us on our first time how the "experiment" works. My wife created her donut with fruity pebbles, vanilla icing and a raspberry drizzle. I had a vanilla donut with chocolate icing, topped with coconut and drizzled with strawberry. Thee best donut I have had. All fresh made in front of you.

The donuts at this place were amazing. The donuts were extremely light and fluffy. The store had a pleasant atmosphere and everything looked clean. The prices for the donuts were surprisingly low for what you are getting. I love the feature that you can choose what you get on your donuts though. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place!

We just made a stop today because the little ones wanted a donut before our trip back home. They were delicious and tasted like grandma's donuts. The man working the counter was very polite. My husband and I also liked their coffee. We would definitely be back.
