Café Del Hidalgo- Ice Cream, Food, And Drink

The gelato and desserts are heavenly! You can't get anything better than the gelato filled crepes. They are very large so one order is enough for two or three people. There are many flavors of gelato to choose from. They have an assortment of beer and all kinds of hot and iced coffee drinks. They do serve food also. If you are on a budget or just want to have a sandwich or salad, this is a great place to go. It is less expensive than most of its competitors in the downtown Historic area. The staff is friendly. You order at the register and they bring your food out. They make fresh squeezed lemonade all day. I can't recommend it enough. It is worth a drive downtown just to have a coffee and some crepes here! The toasted marshmallow is my absolute favorite gelato.

Most AMAZING ice cream I have ever had. This is made fresh IN HOUSE!!! They offer samples of anything you would like to try.
Do not skip this shop if Ice cream is what you are looking for. You will regret missing this stop. I got a medium cup with 2 flavors, Coconut & Key Lime. Coconut has coconut flakes & little coconut bits. It is lightly sweet but sooo amazingly delicious. And the key lime, my eyes lit up as soon as I tasted it! Little kick of sour from the lime but it is so well rounded I almost felt like I was eating a key lime itself. Would HIGHLY recommend! Loved!

Delicious and quaint
My friend and I stopped in here to get out of the rain, and didn't expect much.
We ordered a Cuban sandwich and a Ruben, as well as some hot chocolate to warm us up.
There isn't much seating and its odd that you pay up at a counter, but it's a very nice place
The food was fantastical and much better than expected! The Ruben especially was exceedingly good (although we held the sauerkraut).
And the hot chocolate was the cherry on top, loved it here and will definitely stop by again!

Visited on a hot Tuesday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy. Got a table and got some delicious gelato as we waited for our food. The staff was super friendly and the food was amazing! They have a ton of different flavors of gelato (all of them fresh and amazing) and their sandwiches are just as great. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat or are looking for a place to rest in air conditioning

Stopped in for a quick sweet tooth issue. Glad I did. The crepes were very very good. Not too sweet and very nice texture. Love love love the grapefruit gelato.

We had a great time and great food + drinks at Hidalgo. Even though there were several other bars and restaurants and we stayed only two nights in Saint Augustine, we went toHidalgo twice. Right opposite of it is the Torture Museum for anyone who’s interested.

The gelato tastes really good. Very rich flavors and the consistency feels like the traditional italian gelato. If you are looking for a fresh and sweet treat, definitely check this place out!

Cozy and quaint little cafe. We went for decadent gelato but found they also offer paninis, coffees, and more. As we looked around, we could see everyone relaxing and enjoying their sweet afternoon pick me up! They have an excellent variety in the display cabinet to tempt most!

Very good collection of ice cream, wasabi taste is unforgettable 😋 you might try their frappe, very refreshing 👍 Recommend

Visited St. Augustine in a quick, fast-pace day trip. Cafe del Hidalgo has a great location in one of the busiest areas of the city, yet the service is great and food was tasty as chef prepares dishes from scratch. Family liked the sandwiches, crepes and gelatos. There is also a good selection of wine, beer and coffee. Will return.

The service, food & atmosphere don’t get better than this! Patrick answered all our questions about the menu and then made us the best wraps we’ve ever had! We had a party of 8 and asked a million questions- he went above & beyond for us! Everything was fresh & the wraps are huge! The restaurant has such a happy vibe that we danced while we waited on our food!! I wish this place was in my home town so I could go everyday!

Incredible food. Counter service is not great, considering the quality of the food. You need table service with a full wait staff not just customers handling in their order. Really.

Amazing place for gelatos and cafe. Right inside St George St in downtown St Augustine, FL. Great place to take a break after a long walk. Very relaxing place and decorative. Ordered a Stracciatella gelato in a small cup and mint gelato in a small cup. Decent price for a small cup but amazing gelato. I would definitely go for a bigger cup next time I come back (tomorrow since I will be here for a week).

All I can say is, WOW!! If you are ever in the St. Augustine area, you NEED to make a special trip to Cafe Del Hidalgo. The owner makes the gelato himself and it was really cool to hear of the awards they have won for three Coffee Gelato. I HIGHLY recommend the Coffee, the Lemoncello, and the Pistachio. They are AMAZING!!

Every time we go to Cafe del Hildalgo is fantastic! Sandwiches are great, service is amazing and the gelato is to die for! They have creative delicious flavors you have to try! I order a different flavor reach visit and I've never been disappointed. This time I got black sesame! 😋🍨
