I've been here a few times, the historical significance is amazing though. I retired from the FL National Guard and at one time was offered the SR Enlisted housing. I had too many dogs for that at the time, LOL. Anyway, if you have a chance to visit, it won't disappoint! The original foundation room is pretty amazing.
They even have a B-17 bombsight (which was highly classified, and pivotal to the Allied victory!)
Right across from the country's oldest house.
Across the street is a garage looking area that used to be the bakery.
Don't pass up an opportunity to visit St Augustine as a whole! You won't be disappointed!

I have been to St Augustine many times but never ventured to the south end of marine street. Really enjoyed reading all the plaques along the street. Seeing the cannons and reading about the rich history of the city and the barracks was something special. Thanks to all who have served and continue to protect our home land. 🇺🇸

The Barracks are a very cool place to visit. The problem is that you have to either be military or retired or have to be part of one of the many special events they host there. They have a cool little museum inside and the history is really interesting.

Take Care and Happy Touring

Me and my co worker Morris walked to the Florida National Guard to ask them if they would attend a surprise birthday party for one of our regular guests who turned 99 years old. Bill Manley was super supportive by sending an email out to the troops and showing up the very next day. It was a last minute idea and we appreciate you making it happen. Thank you for all you do!

I am a little jealous, but the Florida National Guard has the nicest headquarters of the 54.

From Spanish Monastery (Spanish Period), to British Barracks (British Period), to US Barracks, to H.Q. of the Florida National Guard.

Amazing men and women who serve this Country, can't say enough about how proud and honored to even be in the building, they put everything on the line for us. And the Historical lady is absolutely 💯 amazing, so much history and she knows it by heart, it was too listen to her tell us about the very ground we were standing on. Very thankful for people like her and our great Military personnel and their families. Keep them in your prayers.
