Best Richardson African Diaspora Literature & Culture Museum

Great place to read and learn about the African American, Black, and African and indigenous diaspora history, which is beautiful, unique, and fascinating before enslavement in the U.S., expanding freedom, and royalty and rich culture outside of western countries.

The owners are kind and welcoming people. They came from Tampa in October 2023. I recommend supporting them by spreading the word, checking the bookstore, and taking a tour.

I enjoyed the black literature tour that was offered.I learned a lot about the history of different black authors and literature.

Excellent bookshop run by a true gentleman. Wife found a couple books. Lots of titles and authors here you won’t find just anywhere.

Had a very good selection including some rare and no longer published pieces, although owner could not find the key to the glass case to sell me the books, nor did he know the price. No problem, he said write my name down and he would call me to come back and purchase them. Never called me, so I called a week later checking their hrs, no answer, called another day, no answer. I decided to drive there on open days and open hrs. It was 3ish and no one was there on an open day that says till 5pm, no biggie I live 30min away, will come back tomorrow. Went back the next day on open hrs and it was closed with a sign on door saying they have a church event and will be closed that day. Ahhhh,went back the next day parked in the lot connected to their store and a man screamed at my wife and I saying who are we and that he would get our car towed right away. Sorry, I'm just not going back, unprofessional, money wasted on gas and time wasted on travel with no courtesy of calling his clients. Sad as there are not many black owned bookstores in this area, puts a sour taste and bad name for black bookstores.
