Holiday Inn & Suites Virginia Beach - North Beach, an IHG Hotel

Bianca is amazing!!!! She is so friendly, guest experience oriented, and just overall fantastic! She ensured our experience was wonderful! I really appreciate her going above and beyond! We will return just because of her!
The hotel (specifically the room) does need some updating but you can't beat the view and experiences for the kids. No other hotel has an indoor lazy river that I'm aware of!! The only improvement I could offer is to PLEASE heat it:) my child loved it but his lips were blue and he froze! The hot tub has never been operable when we have stayed (3 years now). That would be good to replace!
Kids love the indoor theater too and instant access to the beach!
Food options used to be much better but assume staffing concerns have reduced the menus down. We really miss the old menu at the square whale! There's not much to select from now however the staff is amazing!!!
I would definitely recommend this hotel and especially Bianca!

I had the most relaxing stay here. It was nice and quiet. They kept the hotel nice and clean. All of the employees were wonderful and friendly. Parking was right across the street. Nice movie theater and pool area. But those views were EVERYTHING!!!! I will definitely return back and stay at this hotel. Hopefully I can return as soon as possible.

From check in to check out was wonderful. Front desk persons very warm, house cleaning crew very nice and accommodating. Was on a rest break and I was able to do so.

Great place for a weekend get away. The pool and hot tub are so nice and relaxing. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and have great views of the ocean.

Felt compelled to write a review since a lot of recent reviews were mediocre. We were on edge weather to book or not and we are happy we took a chance! We had nothing but great interactions with staff. We were ealier than check in time and only expected a parking pass and pool wristband until rooms were ready but they had rooms available and let us check in! Room was very clean and spacious. The hallway was hot as others described but I didn’t spend much time in hallway it wasn’t unbearable it’s just the sun beams in windows. The location on beach and boardwalk was so nice. The main pool was lovely and had live music Saturday and Sunday 4-8 which was nice! The kids pool with water slides and lazy river was perfect! The inside pool was even very nice. They also have a movie theater that plays different movies throughout day and a kids camp area where kids can play games. We didn’t eat at hotel restaurant. The trolley stops out front frequently to take you further down boardwalk if you wished. They also rent out beach chairs/umbrellas right out front if you wish. 7-11 across street and Dunkin’ Donuts a block away so convenient to walk of you need something! Beach playground also walkable to hotel!

Great location, amazing beachfront view, awesome staff... comfortable beds, clean room, will definitely stay here again! My go to hotel! Keep up the great work!

My wife and I booked this hotel for a small family reunion! Two families came from Pittsburgh,PA, one from Brooklyn, NY, and we traveled from North Myrtle Beach! Ocean front for four days was a real treat. I like to film the sunrises because it's the best part of the day, our room was exactly dead center for viewing the sunrise. A hotel this size should have better operating ice machines, after all people come here to get away from the rat race or daily grind! Having to keep climbing steps to get to an ice machine is ridiculous! The ice machine right outside my room was not operating, and the one on the 3rd floor was just shut down. People shouldn't have to go hunting for ice on their vacation. We dined at the square whale on Friday because two of our family members got vouchers for dinners, and the kids eat free. The restaurant didn't have much to offer for adults! There was no pizza due to someone purchasing every pizza, but there was no pizza the next day at all, either. Breakfast was good, and there was something for everyone on the buffet. You could order eggs anyway you wanted. Having to pack Bermuda shorts and a shirt with a collar just to eat at the Italian restaurant is ridiculous. You're supposed to be relaxing and comfortable considering it was hot as hell in the evening!

This place was awesome. We stayed a night here for our honeymoon wish we wld have stayed longer the pools and slides hot tub and lazy RIVERS are worth every penny. Breakfast was not as good as I wld have expected my husband got rotten milk from a carton in his coffee but the staff were all very friendly and fixed it quickly

This place was awesome. For the first time, we chose to stay on the northern end of Virginia Beach. We are so glad we did! The hotel looks like a tropical resort. The pool and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. And the beach there is not nearly as crowded as further south in Virginia Beach.

The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff was very pleasant, always smiling. We ate lunch at The Square Whale, which is part of the hotel and we were happy with the three times we ate there. I especially liked the carnitas tacos and double burger. Parking is just across the street and is a dedicated parking garage for the hotel. There is a shuttle stop directly in front, too.

If I had to think of any cons, it's the same as almost all other hotels I've stayed at...the electrical outlets barely hold plugs.

All in all, we were very happy with the hotel and plan on staying there again during our next trip to Virginia Beach.

Beautiful, the pools are so nice and the beds are so soft. The view is amazing especially on higher floors. From hot tubs and water slides to sturdy balconies, this place is amazing and neatly designed.

We had an excellent stay. Everything was wonderful and we will be back again for sure. Location was perfect. Staff was not only helpful but friendly and professional. Room was big,clean and great view. The pools were fun. And there is a lot to do in the area. Highly recommend

The engineering staff (Hamid & Nigel) went above and beyond to get my son's Xbox hooked up for our 5 day stay. So please with all staff, but they'll are special in my heart for caring so much.

This was my first time coming and me and my fam hadn’t booked anything since this trip was last minute. We came to this hotel trying to book a room and the lady in the front was so nice! Service was excellent and the breakfast, I can not stress this enough, SOOO good !! Their buffet was excellent, also have live music by the pool, great location, definitely recommend !!

The hotel was great!!!!! Minor things like restaurant flooding. Breakfast was exceptional 👌. Great activities for kids-my granddaughter loved the turtle and the movies. Especially the kiddie pool, she loves the water. Will definitely come back and recommend to friends. Sad part was my daughter's car was side swiped in the parking lot but a good Samaritan left a note with info.

Stayed here with a friend the weekend of December 16th. The front desk staff was very courteous and kind. We kept running into a maintenance guy which helped make the stay fun, he was a very nice gentleman and he even made sure we found everything we needed. We did not eat on site, however the hotel was at a great quiet spot with many restaurants within walking distance. I loved how big our room was and enjoyed the oceanfront balcony. If I ever go back to VA beach, I will definitely stay at this hotel.

Stayed here for a business meeting. The room was spacious and clean and the view was amazing. Staff were very friendly.

This is one of the better beach hotels on the boardwalk. I very much enjoy the amenities here including the 2 outdoor pools, the indoor pool, the small but fun lazy river, the fri-yay movie day, the kids club and the restaurants. The hotel is at the end of the boardwalk but it's a lot quieter here. The trolley terminus is right outside the main door so super convenient to go down the boardwalk to explore the city. There is also a 7-11 across the street in case you need anything. They offer complimentary coffee everyday. They also cary dove products (in room shampoo, conditioner, lotion...). All in all, this was a clean and conveniently located hotel with nice staff and great entertainment for all ages.

Overall a pretty good place to stay if you plan on visiting Virginia Beach especially if you have young kids or toddlers.

The hotel has a pool and a small water park with slides and a very small lazy river. This is perfect for kids.

Additionally, the hotel has playroom where young kids can play. They event have a movie theater where they play disney movies.

The rooms were nice. Some have views to the ocean. Notice however there is no kitchen, but they do have a small fridge.

The wifi speed is "okay". You will get about 10Mbps.

The hotel has a restaurant/bar where you can get pretty descent food and drinks.

Overall this hotel was a great pick.

Based on some recent reviews, I had some concerns staying here for the annual air show after a few year hiatus. I've always stayed here when in town and have found it to be a fantastic hotel. I can confirm after staying here again that it continues to be a great property. The front desk staff was very friendly and efficient and the house keeping staff was very friendly. The room was very clean and well stocked with toiletries and disposables. We had one of the two bedroom suites that overlooked the ocean/boardwalk. I did see a few signs of wear and tear around the facility, but nothing out of the ordinary for a heavily traveled beach front hotel. I think the past few years have been extremely challenging for the hospitality business, something they acknowledge in their welcome letter provided a check-in, but by all measures the staff of this hotel appears to continue to work hard to make it a desirable place to stay, especially for families with kids. Overall, I would continue to recommend this hotel as a great option for your stay in VA Beach.

Great service and clean rooms with a great ocean front view! Anthony, at the front desk, helped upgrade us to a king bed with an oceanfront view and was helpful throughout our stay! A lot of great amenities and restaurants with great staff! Would love to come back here! 10/10 recommend this hotel!
