DoubleTree by Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront South

This was a last minute and quick trip to the beach so didn’t have a lot of hotel options, was hesitant to book this one based on previous reviews but so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff, the hotel is very clean and updated. The bed is comfortable and the rooms are quite large with a good size balcony overlooking the ocean. Live music played right outside on the boardwalk, easy access to the beach. Absolutely no complaints about this place and will stay again in the future.

I always read reviews before booking a hotel so I was hesitant to book this when I saw some of the low ratings. I honestly don't know why it's But below a 4. Trust me, this hotel is worth booking. The hotel is newly renovated and the rooms and the lobby are beautiful!

Lester at the front desk was really helpful and gave us a high floor with a beautiful view of the boardwalk as we requested.

The lobby is updated with nice seating area and reception. Rooms are half hardwood floors and lighting is beautiful. Very clean. And you can't beat the oceanfront rooms. Only thing missing is an outdoor pool. Indoor pool is a bit small but not bad.

The hallways are not air-conditioned but they're still really well maintained. Elevators are also small but it wasn't as bad as the other reviews were stating.

I really am particular with hotels and I would stay here again!

Exactly what we needed. Mothers Day Weekend was a success. I love waking up to the beach and sunrise 🌅. Microwaves were in hall with ice maker. Had fun indoor pool. Breakfast is available with or without a package deal. Fitness center available. Room was plenty spacious.

Go Go Go!! I stayed in this DoubleTree on a recent vacation, and I just can't wait to come back here! The oceanfront view is gorgeous and the rooms immaculate. Clean, fresh and visibly well up kept. The service both for the rooms, and by the front desk/check in were both super helpful and courteous. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a fantastic vacation!

DoubleTree by Hilton is a very nice hotel. They have an indoor heated pool, valet parking, a nice restaurant attached to it, an oceanfront view and much more. The hotel rooms are very clean and the staff are very courteous. It is one of the nicest hotels in Virginia Beach. It is in a great location. I highly recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton.

By far one of the nicest places we have stayed. Front desk was extremely helpful. We have a F450 Super Duty that wouldn't fit in the regular parking, so we parked in the valet parking side of the garage with no issue. The complimentary cookies were delicious. The restaurant however was horrendous. We had to send our entrees back, paid and went to Zero Subs for dinner. For the prices you would think it would at least be edible.

Very nice stay.. the room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, being on the water was very relaxing.. Restaurant down stairs was A+ .. will definitely be returning for another stay.. oh let’s not forget the double tree cookie.. Yummy☺

Nice property, oceanfront. Sol houseman was a life saver with the extra blankets and pillows. Checkin was easy. Food pantry was expensive but a trip to 711 on the skateboard made it more fun. Will be back again. Thank you!

Very glad that I did not let negative reviews keep me from booking this hotel and a huge “thanks” to the person who recommended the breakfast package.The view is incredible. I wish I had their beds at home…so comfortable! The location is perfect. I did take a noise machine for sleep. I did not hear any loud noises at night as described by others. We slept as well as at home if not better.

Will you share the details of things such as umbrellas, chairs, valet service on the beach… etc Resort fee to cover such items or if they are put out each morning. No one mentions in reviews and we are coming next weekend Flying in

I'm not sure what happened a few months ago, but our stay was lovely. Yes the hotel is a little weathered, but it's also directly on the ocean! Service was great, rooms clean, fantastic location!

Fantastic and accommadating experience here. Hard to beat the Beach view, staff is friendly, and the indoor pool a nice touch.
Having Mahi's in Hotel not bad either.

First time here. Beautiful room with a great view from the 8th floor. Wish the weather was better but any day at the beach is better than none!

The many 1 star reviews have indeed set my expectations very low. So I am lucky that none of those issues happened to me. My room is clean, without molds and no cockroaches. The view is fantastic and the sound of the waves at night is soothing the soul.

We were hesitant about reserving here due to all the bad reviews. Personally I don't know what the other people were talking about. We had our room 30 minutes earlier, our luggage was kept for us while we waited. Room was spotless!! We ordered room service and it was quick and delicious. The view was breathtaking. Maybe they paid attention and fix issues because we had a flawless stay!

Staff was great. Very polite and helpful. Very nice rooms and right on the boardwalk. I would highly recommend.

Stayed for a business trip and I was a bit uncertain given reviews but it was one of few within cost so I took a chance. Room was a bit small but quite sufficient and all the important things were great. Seemed clean, bathroom stocked with 4 fresh towel sets, great view. Minor bummer that parking is an extra cost but self-parking is only half a block across the street and uses your hotel key (so you get unlimited in & out from the garage without extra cost). I think the worst thing I can think of was most breakfast places in the area weren't open as early as I'd prefer which made getting to nearby 8AM meetings difficult, but the hotel restaurant was good and opened at 7AM. Elevators were a bit slow and I was bummed I couldn't just take stairs (fire exit only) until I realized there were additional elevators farther down the hall closer to my room that were faster, less busy, and more convenient. I'd absolutely go again.
