The Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club, Autograph Collection

I had the most wonderful stay at the Cavalier Hotel this past weekend. From the moment I entered the property, I was blown away by the hospitality and service provided. Their staff didn’t even give me the opportunity to lift a finger. I was swiftly checked into my beautiful room where cookies and wine awaited. The atmosphere was relaxing, upscale, historic, and entertaining. One of my favorite parts of this property is the Hunt Room. We had the most fabulous time hanging out in that space. The 2 hostess working on 5/9 took care of our every need. There were even people staying at neighboring hotels hanging out in the hunt room and we convinced them to stay at the cavalier on their next trip due to our great experience. You can tell they care about their guests and work very hard to make each stay special. I will definitely be coming back as this stay was worth every penny.

This is our first time checking in at this fancy hotel. As a local, we want to get away for the 4th of July weekend and experience this world-class hotel in our neighborhood. It was a great deal and not as expensive as we thought it would be. We can do this every month for our little staycation. Becca's restaurant and Hunt Room were the best in the area. Their indoor pool was also a great setting and ambiance. If you're local to Virginia Beach I recommend this spot and experience this historic hotel 👌🏽

My fiance and I came down for the weekend and everything was amazing. The employees, especially Caroline, were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were luxurious and comfortable. The doormen and valets were courteous and so nice. All around excellent time. Highly recommend!

Me and my wife drove down for an event we spend the night had a great experience from the time we arrive. They offered to shuttle service to us to go to our event so we didn’t have to drive exit exit exit the doorman was fantastic. He was very helpful, very professional, Music was in the lobby, but it was the way one of the negative reviews. Explain that overall experience was fantastic. We had breakfast best egg Benedict I’ve ever had highly recommend this place.

It was our 7th wedding anniversary date night. The food, the sevice and the historic atmosphere were all wonderful. We live in Virginia Beach. But this is our first time inside the hotel since it was renovated.

The rooms are spacious, elegant, and comfortable, with all the amenities you need. The staff is amazing, they are friendly, helpful, and attentive to every detail. The beach club is a great place to relax and enjoy the ocean view, the infinity pool, and the poolside bar. The best part is the shuttle van service that will take you anywhere you want to go in town, whether it’s for dining, shopping, or nightlife. The Cavalier hotel and beach club is the perfect place to experience the best of Virginia Beach. I highly recommend it!

Love the hotel and beach club amenities. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Wish area of VA Beach was little nicer but if you stay on Cavalier property it's really nice. Easy access to beach, pool and restaurants on property.

We can't say enough about the Cavalier! As a wedding photo & video group, we have had the pleasure of partnering with the staff at this venue for our many of our couple's weddings - and each time we are blown away by the stunning grounds! It’s the perfect backdrop for any outdoor ceremony & reception, and the inside of the hotel is just as elegant. There are plenty of gorgeous spots for portrait sessions between the rooms and the outdoors. Couldn’t recommend The Cavalier enough for your wedding day!! Ig @paperboysweddings

Wonderful historic hotel. Beautiful lobby, flowers,tea room and restaurants. Stunning pool . Great spa . The best was the friendly staff including the managers. I can't wait to visit again.

Stayed for two nights over the Christmas holiday and couldn't have loved it more! The history, the beauty, the hard-working staff! Everything spotless and decorated beautifully for the holiday.
TIP: Make sure you make reservations for the restaurants in advance. They stayed super busy and we were glad we had done so for both Becca & The Hunt Room.
We enjoyed the Distillery Tour & Tasting, there was entertainment each afternoon in The Raleigh Room while sipping our drinks. The pool is gorgeous. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the history throughout is fascinating.

Our room was on the second floor and thankfully the view didn't matter to us as it was of the AC units. But the room was clean and comfortable. Nice shower. Everything terrific!

The Cavalier is incredible. Every employee we interacted with was wonderful, so helpful and friendly. Dinner at Becca was fantastic, the food and the service! Thank you for a great honeymoon!

While we didn't stay at the Cavalier, we did have lunch at their restaurant. Service was outstanding, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was classic. It is located off the beach but on a hill, two blocks away, overlooking the beach. It is a quieter option for a Virginia Beach stay. Close enough to participate in Beach activities while far enough away to have peace and quiet.

This is a gorgeous old building. It's hard to imagine it in it's heyday. All the rich folks sauntering around for the summer. From the pictures of the past, it looks wonderful. The grounds were 10 times bigger than they are now.

I have never booked a room here, so I don't have anything to say regarding that, but the Cavalier is a beautiful historic resort with a nice distillery on the bottom floor. If you're visiting Virginia Beach, there are two cocktails you must try. One is the orange crush from watermans. The other is the smoked old fashioned from this place. My only complaint would be the parking garage in the newer building across the street. The machine that prints your ticket is on a very steep incline, and I definitely roasted my clutch in order to avoid rolling backward into a very expensive car. I don't know who's responsible for the garage but it would be nice if they could consider relocating the pay station.

Beautiful property, it’s an oasis you don’t need to leave. Beccca, one of the onsite restaurants was very good - spectacular breakfast everyday and I’m not a breakfast girl. Very relaxing time, only place to stay if you’re in VA beach

We didn't stay here, but it was recommended to tour it before leaving Virginia Beach because of its history and beautiful renovation. We chose to take a peek to see if we wanted to stay on our next visit. I fell in love with the esthetics of this place!

Gorgeous hotel from the 1920s with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. Excellent service from the whole staff, especially Aaron and the valet team!

Wow. Don't know how to cover it all. And this is long overdue because I stayed there with my 78 year old mom from Dec 25-Jan1st. This place is exceptional. The hotel, he history of the many famous people that have stayed there, the restaurants, the food, the neighborhood it's in, the decor on every floor (I walked them all) but the staff. I'll just name some folks that I think are amazing at their job. If you're not named, it's because I forgot to write it down by the time I got to my room! I have to say that I was with my 78 year old mother that has water on the brain so she has balance issues. The staff was exceptionally aware and helpful. But my go-to girl was Jessita. I think every time she worked, I had to go to her and act like we misplaced our room key (it was my mom) and she made me a new one with no judgement. She took care of me just as well. Loved that she could make me laugh no matter what. And she had the BEST hair!

David, bellman has to be the busiest man in the hotel. He takes two carts of luggage up at a time." Bellman of the year in the US!" And always working!

Sophia hostess at Becca, Mia and Joshua helped me print stuff for my nieces bridal shower the next day, Bobby red headed bartender from Becca, Met Tori for a afternoon cocktail super sweet girl, Trent Petersen "jazz hands", Keith, Ray and Tim, Ceara hostess, Megan at shop, Jared and Bobby bartender,
Jeremy the waiter, Aicha waitress, Doorman/valet Thomas helped recreate the ghostly experience for my mom! But besides all of these lovely people, Kearra the girl who did rooms when my mom was sick in bed for 26 hours. She came in and changed the sheets and cleaned our room even though my mom was so sick (not covid!) And also Cameron Almond Junior or CJ! He helped me and my mom at Christmas, in the rain and anytime we got out of our families car to drop us off. Sweetheart.

All of the locations in the hotel are one of a kind to visit between the restaurants, the distillery, the gym was great, the gift shop for unique items and the spa.

You're crazy not to stay at least one night here. It's exceptional service, historic and an unforgettable experience.

I was concerned about being at the beach but not on the beach, but my room was perfect. i could sea the ocean from wherever i was in my luxurious room. Class was the order of the day right into the evening, turning down your bed and leaving fresh homemade cookies. Everything about this hotel inspires creativity! A must if you enjoy luxury!!!!
