I really enjoyed my stay at this quaint little hotel! The individual attention I received was exceptional and contrary to other reviews, it was very peaceful and quiet with no outside issues whatsoever! The management was extremely helpful and friendly roo! It was overall a very pleasant experience from beginning to end. Thanks! I'll be back in the near future!

If you’re looking for luxury, look elsewhere; there are some issues. If you’re looking for a very low-budget quick-stay with location-location-location, this is verily the best Virginia Beach has to offer!

Parking is a bit complicated. Towels aren’t the best. Some issues day/night. However the staff does well to help meet whatever you need. And wanna know the best part for me & my family??? Staying here is just two blocks to the Beach & Boardwalk!!! 🏖 {And did I mention the very low-cost??? Exactly! 😎}

Nice low cost place to stay for a weekend. I traveled by myself for a little mental health break. This place is perfect. Your only one block from beach you can see ocean from room 211. Also a rooftop deck just nice. Pool and room is clean. I would recommend for a short stay.

Pool was nice the room was great everything was clean there was a lot of space in room for me and my family had great time..

I stayed here Sept 23-25 with my two YA's and their bff..
Had originally booked the Queen bed with a kitchenette but when 2nd said her bff was able to come down I called Alamar and Yog, the owner easily switched it to two Queen beds.

The room itself was clean and inviting.
Comfortable beds and very low-loft pillows.
Nice accent wall and fantastic headboards.
The mini fridge, microwave, and simple coffee machine, all looked new and clean.

The only suggestions would be to putty over the holes and give the room a complete paint job. The baseboards need cleaning and bathroom door replaced, it's tired and showing its age.

Yog and Anthony (housekeeping) are fantastic with pleasant personalities.
I needed a lamp for the desk, bcuz a daughter had class assignments due and they quickly sourced one for us.

The location is FANTASTIC!!
Easy 3min walk to the beach and numerous top-rated places to eat and shop. We parked the car and just walked everywhere.
We felt safe and comfortable at all times.
I would most definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others, too.

The owner always goes out of his way to make sure we have no issues, whether it be with the room itself, the room key or other hotel guests ☺

I ended up getting stuck another day in VA Beach because my truck broke down and the shop didn't finish in time. I needed a nearby hotel I could walk to/from the shop and this was the closest. I went in with no expectations because I presumed going solo & based on cost I was going to get the equivalent of a studio apartment, and that's what I got.

TV, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, shower with hot water, king bed with 3 pillows (3 clean pillowcases, sheets were clean), clean but really average sized/feel towels, pretty much all I needed. I came in early in the morning since I had to check out from the other place I was in and the guy at the front desk was accommodating and held onto my bags until I came back at check-in time.

When I came back from getting dinner on the boardwalk (at night), I noticed every room has a bright light in front of it (looked like a stadium walking up to it), and there are cameras everywhere. I didn't see any reason to think something bad was going to happen. There's a 'flip it over the bolt on the door' additional lock on the door which was good enough for me.

For the cost and the crunch I was in, this place worked out great. I can understand why some people have such a negative reaction, it's definitely an old hotel that they're constantly fixing/trying to update things on (in a very hot/humid place), but it's a 2-star hotel and there are plenty of other ones pretty much anywhere in VA Beach.

This place obviously has lower prices, so it's not like you're staying at the fancy Marriott or anything like that. HOWEVER my fiance and I loved it here!! They remodeled in 2018 and they take great care of their rooms. Staff is super friendly and helpful. It's close to the beach. The pool is super clean and not crowded. Only down fall is there isn't an elevator. And I'm handicapped, but the owner was kind enough to put us on the first floor. Definitely will be staying here next year!!! He gave us a room on the spot even though it was already midnight when we checked in. The room was clean and the bathroom was nice. The shower presser was great and the soap made my skin feel good ( kept some for later ) lol I felt comfortable sleeping in the bed. He had a great value and location.

It was a nice experience to be near the beach to walk to it ! The owner is definitely a nice guy !

I almost don't wanna tell you about this hidden gem!

Alamar is a nice lil cozy nook of a resort. The rooms are a bit outdated, but I've been told that they are planned to soon be renovated. I will say that it is very 'homely'. By that, I mean this is a great place for people to settle down for a while during these difficult times. All of that to say, although a 'resort', there's some wear and tear from past residents' extended stays.

If you can get past that, then you're set. Of course, the location is perfect. You're a block away from the boardwalk, no problem. The staff are all wonderful! Melissa (front desk) has such a wonderful personality and George (housekeeping) is always around to give a helping hand. And the rest of the staff is always so welcoming. Just as long as you're not bout no riff-raff, you'll love them. Lol

Alamar may be small but it has a lot of heart. If you're looking for fancy, perfectly clean, glitz, and glamor, like I've seen many reviews complain about, don't go there. But if you want comfort, fair pricing, a great location, and amazing staff, THIS is your spot!

We have stayed here multiple times, it’s close to the ocean front, shopping and food. Great accommodations, with a quiet atmosphere, definitely recommend 💯

I will never stay at another motel after staying here when visiting Virginia Beach. The staff is amazing, the rooms are spotless, they are extremely kid friendly and let my kids stay in the pool for a good while after closing hours. Compared to the other places I’ve stayed down here it’s been a dream come true!! Carnival and main strip are right across the street, wish I’d known about this place sooner. If you’re on the first floor the pool is right outside your door. We paid a $25 pet fee and my dog has been lounging at the pool area with me all day, they’re extremely pet friendly too. Nice quiet clean family place!

Loved this place. It's a bit off the beaten path, and super lowkey which is exactly what we love. The front desk gal was so helpful with recommendations for local food choices. The saltwater pool was really clean. It was in a great location for the local bead shop !

Great service! We stayed in a 1 BR suite which was more like a 1 BR apartment! I was surprised at how large it was and while some of the furnishing and appliances are older, everything worked well, and we had a great time! It's 2 blocks from the boardwalk and beach! We'll be staying here again for sure!

Great rooms and had no idea about how fantastic this place is with their old school field but still new school look inside. Just wish again there could be some hospitality implemented in these hotels but I'll give this one out of a 1 through 10 on the hospitality scale A 3. And would recommend this to anyone who's just going here for business or even pleasure but doesn't mind not talking to anyone or getting service for the room.

For the price it's worth it! I stayed here for 3 nights with a friend and our children. The owners were always avaliable and helpful!! If you're looking for a brand new Inn with amazing new rooms then stay elsewhere or don't complain later! It's an older Inn but It's super close to the strip and beach, which eleminated parking cost. The only bad thing was booking in October and not being able to enjoy their nice outdoor pool. Hopefully I can make my way back there this summer!

Nice friendly staff, clean rooms, close to everything on the oceanfront as it's right in the middle. I would recommend!
