Residence Inn by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Fantastic location! A full kitchen in the room was so nice. The customer service was beyond amazing! Our first night we didn’t have A/C but Jeff the engineer came out at 1AM to fix it and when he couldn’t, Allison was our hero and found us a new room the next day. Every employee from the front to housekeeping was always so friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

We booked here for a few reasons, mainly the dog friendly part, and the side by side room layout including the window wall in the bedroom (which was amazing). We were there the week before Memorial day which I know contributes greatly to the level of service, cleanliness, and lack of issues in any hotel. We were very pleased with everything. We simply advised the valet ahead of time when we were going to need the car, so it was already sitting in a space out front waiting for us. It is very dog friendly, and there was no requirement to have a kennel or carrier, and I didn't see a single dog in one. It also only added, I think, $6 to our bill for the dog. The elevators both worked perfectly, and moved very quickly. The kitchen was really well stocked with pots, dishes etc, and had a microwave, toaster, stovetop, dishwasher, and even an ice maker in the fridge. The included breakfast buffet was really good, and the freshly made coffee in the lobby all day was excellent. The balcony is a wee bit shorter than some, but is deeper, and quite roomy. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The only complaints are the odd placement of the AC exhaust on the balcony (probably the only option), and a little bit of wear on the carpet edges. Everything else was outstanding, and those couple things didn't detract at all from a great experience. Our dog had the best time, and we would definitely return.

The Residence Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront was the perfect home base for our family vacation. The kids loved having their own space in the suite, and we could make light snacks / tea in the kitchenette. It was so convenient being right on the beach – we spent hours building sandcastles and splashing in the waves - Cabana really helped us cool from the hot sun. The pool was a nice break when the sun got too hot. The only downside was the breakfast crowd could get a bit crazy, but the food was good. Overall, it was a perfect family getaway!

This hotel is not bad....hear me out! The front desk upon check-in was a little shaky. We requested one type of room only to be told someone had switched our selection with no contact or messages. I found that super weird since I checked in 2 days before arrival. We ordered a 1 bedroom king suite but ended up with 1 bedroom 2 queens. Sounds simple, but we've been married 40 years and rarely sleep apart because I don't sleep well without the hubby. TMI, I know, but you needed to understand WHY THE SELECTION WAS IMPORTANT.

BUT!!! The hotel manager worked diligently to fix it the following morning! We were offered the original selection but declined because by this point, I was not moving 5 days' worth of stuff. In addition, after arrival, the room needed additional cleaning, so I went back out, purchased a few cleaning supplies, and made the room comfortable seeing we were staying 5 days. All of that happened, and now I'm going to tell you why I would stay here AGAIN...

Excellent team altogether and experience after a rocky start. But absolutely worth every bit of the 5 stars!!

The hotel is conveniently located in Virginia Beach. There is a pool and hot tub. Their breakfast selections are average - self-service waffles, eggs, meat, hard-boiled eggs, bagles, milk, and juice. My one concern was that there wasn't any regular bread or English muffins. The rooms are looking a bit old and worn. In the bathroom, one of the towel bars is missing. The pullout couch in the living room is sagging. The staff is nice. All rooms are ocean views.

The property was immaculate and looked as though it had just been updated. Staff members were friendly and helpful -- from the front desk (special shout-out to Alison!) to housekeeping to the parking valets to the folks taking care of the breakfast buffet. We will definitely be back!

As a dog lover I always appreciate places that allow dogs. My first visit here in a long time as I don't like crowds, but Virginia Beach off-season is much quieter and dogs are allowed on the beach. The hotel is right on the boardwalk and there were at least a dozen pooches staying here. The rooms were nice and the breakfast was good. The staff was wonderful.

The rooms for beautiful! Nice breakfast, although the hours were a little Limited. The hotel is dog friendly, which is okay just something everyone should be aware of.

And you absolutely cannot beat the location, you can walk right from the hotel onto the beach and to many restaurants on the boardwalk.

Not the most glamorous of hotels but was a great stay experience for my family. Breakfast everyday, wonderfully warm pool, clean amenities all around. We stayed in a suite and it was well stocked. Cleaning staff did an excellent job getting out all the sand we drug in every time them cleaned. Staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

All suites, clean room, pet friendly, great ocean view, on the boardwalk, friendly staff, complimentary breakfast with wide selection.

The price for the location is an absolute steel. The rooms are nice. You have a full kitchen with a large fridge and a bedroom with a separate area. Lots of big dogs. I have a Boxer so one of the few hotels, the text, larger, pets, right on the beach. It is an excellent location with the ability to walk to great restaurants. Breakfast was included in the stay in the hotel had a great spread available, including gluten-free options, which is a great place for myself and even had almond milk. Wow!

Again, at the price point parking in the garage is down the street but they do offer a valet service. The only other negative I saw was that these staff uses the elevator, and during my stay one of the elevators was down leading to longer wait times there, however, based on the price point, quality, and location I would stay there again and think it is a great find

The location is amazing; right off the Boardwalk. The rooms could use a refresh. The first night we checked in we had an issue with our room. The staff bent over backwards to make it right. Shelley, Justin, Polina, and the manager (I forget his name) all sincerely cared to help make the rest of our stay comfortable. Overall, everyone at the hotel (including valet and housekeeping) was very professional and friendly! We are looking forward to returning next summer.

Love, love this hotel. Staff is very friendly, helpful, dog friendly. Stayed here three times and will again. Every store and restaurants right outside the hotel door.

3. Free on property washer and dryer.
4. They provided a free wheelchair for my father. The staff was very kind to assist him to the room too!
5. They offer breakfast but I really recommend going early. 2nd day, I went at 9 and had half the options that day 1 when I went around 8.

Great location right on the beach, but a little off the super congested areas. Great breakfast; try the chocolate croissants. Great rooms; able to work while the better half continues to sleep. Nothing to complain about. Would go again without hesitation.

The staff at this hotel are top notch professionals, delivering a level of care that is tough to match. I had a fairly complex reservation involving a mix of reward nights and paid nights, plus the use of two Marriott gift cards. The staff made the check in and check out processes go smoothly for me, with no issues on my final bill. The accommodations are also very nice. It’s a very clean hotel with new furniture and fixtures. It has everything you need to make a great beach trip, especially for families.
