The Lake Motel

Had a great stay at The Lake Motel last weekend - extremely clean room with a recently renovated bathroom and comfortable mattress. The desk attendant communicated well ahead of and during check-in. The decks down by the lake have beautiful views, nice chairs, and fire pits. Only challenge was with the wifi, but it was a stormy weekend, which may have been part of the cause. I had decently strong cell service (Verizon) in our room, but my partner who has a different carrier did not.

My mom and I try to come twice a year and we always stay at your hotel!!!! I LOVE that there is a pool we can always cool down there. I always utilize the grills by making us some food!!!! I really don't have anything negative to say!!
The rooms are a little/alot out dated!!!! If they were rehabbed, you would have 100% satisfaction!!! Nothing major ❤

I traveled with my senior parents. My mom had a nasty fall a few days before we traveled and the service we received at the Lake Motel was 5 star!!! They were absolutely amazing and gracious and they felt like family. They helped us find a parking spot and helped us with our luggage. It didn't matter who was at the front desk, they always greeted us with a smile and were always pleasant and accommodating.
The motel is not large so you won't have trouble finding a seat by the pool or a scenic adirondack by the lake. The grounds were pristine and well cared for.
There are definitely stairs to get down to the pool and dock, so book accordingly. The 1st floor by the lake could be considered 2nd floor rooms because you need to go downstairs. However, you also have the option of backtracking toward the front of the motel, and walking down the walkway to the pool/dock area.
Parking was a bear but once we parked, we didn't move for several days. Everything is in walking distance or you can take the trolley.
I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed here memorial weekend and wow! This motel is amazing! I highly highly recommend you get the lakefront room! The view and the weather was amazing! We would go get breakfast nearby and enjoy it on the balcony. The staff is super nice! Steve(?), who I believe to be the owner, even offered to help bring our bags to our room. The pool is constantly being cleaned. Rooms are very clean and cozy. Overall, 100/10!

Have stayed here 3 years in a row. The rooms are super clean, bathrooms as well. Heated pool and the outdoor fireplaces are awesome. Don't hesitate book the room here!

Great location, good front desk staff. It was too cold to try the pool, unfortunately, but everything else was a great value. A short walk to Blue Thirty Two, which is a great spot

Our first time here, but a childhood friend comes here every year with her family. I was worried about the smoking TBH but they don't allow it in rooms, only outside on the balcony, but they should designate some part of the balcony for smokers so non smokers don't have to walk by. That being said I loved it so much and we had the best time. The family that owns it is lovely, welcoming and so helpful. We used their free kayaks, watched people fish on the pier-and sat by the fire pits. They also have activities in the summer (such as root-beer float night) , the rooms are not fancy but they are very clean! We also went nearby to rent a boat, and my husband and teen son went on the mini haha. I will be back !!!

When we entered around 9:30 at night to check in, we noticed a flat tire. Steve and his wife immediately helped us and by the next morning, our car was ready for driving. The whole repair was covered and taken care of.

The motel has wonderful rooms, a wonderful pool, a fireplace, grills, and a scenic lakeside area reserved only for those at the Lake Motel. S’mores kits, coffee, and kayaks were complimentary! Truly an unforgettable experience that justifies another booking for the next time we come ‘round to Lake George.

Family of four with 12 and 16 year old boys- we cannot say enough about how simply perfect The Lake Motel is for a quick 4 day weekend getaway. The staff operate as though they are all personally invested in the satisfaction of every single guest's experience. This motel gives a warm, welcoming, "You're part of the family now" vibe to all who choose to stay there.
**Call the front desk to book your reservations. You'll be pleasantly surprised to reach a concierge directly answering your call, not an automated service.
**Don't book through an online service, just call. You'll avoid added service fees, hidden charges, and you'll have the pleasure of meeting exactly who you booked with when you arrive.

We will happily revisit The Lake Motel for many summers to come, and our boys will likely continue the tradition as they get older, too.

Just spent 4th of July weekend here with my daughter. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed the nightly events. The beds are so comfortable. Complimentary coffee/hot chocolate in main office. The only ding was that our AC didn't work that well.

This place is a hidden gem, without question. Leaving out the ease of check in, the moment you open your room door you are greeted with an incredible scent of clean and comfort. Moving in to the bed itself, it was much more comfortable than I was expecting. Half of the time I didn’t even want to get out of bed to do the things I was there for in the first place. The bathroom was super clean and ample space to move properly. It was even sanitized as an extra layer of clean. Let’s move on to the amenities. There was so many things included for free that other area hotels charged extra for, kayaking, paddle boards, etc were all included at no extra cost. The fire pits, places, and bbq amenities were spectacular. And it doesn’t end there, there is also the nightly activities, s’mores night, root beer float night, etc was just awesome. Even more, this motel is perfectly located, a maximum of 20 minutes or less drives to attractions and activities, walking distance to the local tourist strip and a near infinite selection of things to do. Also a staff member name Andrew was just the icing on the cake. He went above and beyond to see us well taken care of. He has a great attitude and personality that made him that much more incredible. While we didn’t interact with too many other staff, I’m sure they are great based on my interaction with Andrew. I thank you again friend for making our stay that much more awesome. All around you wouldn’t find a motel like this one in the area, I guarantee it. I highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent motel that is well maintained and managed with a welcoming staff that is amazingly located smack in the middle of all the action at Lake George.

There's free parking, they have a pool at back, a deck to swim directly into the lake and free kayaking too.

Rooms are small, with rustic look. Washrooms fully renovated with a walk-in shower.

The room rates are very reasonable for a property on the lake.

The parking is extremely convenient as you simply leave your car on the property and enjoy Lake George without worrying about paying meters or paying $20 a day for public parking.

Will definitely be staying here again!

Location was great, room was clean. Had a pool a pier kayaks and paddle boards available and everyone around us was nice and really cool. The staff was awesome and the place wasn't super expensive either. I'd come here again our bed just sucked there was a huge dip and now that I'm a 31 year old Dino my back is not the same and hurts like hell 🤣.

Lovely little motel, perfect location, extremely friendly, happy and accommodating staff, great service, cozy and clean. It is within walking distance of almost everything to see at Lake George. Beautiful deck, and a perfect view of the lake as well. Had an absolutely perfect stay for 3 days during the Memorial Day weekend!

My girlfriend and I went here for a long weekend and we loved it! The staff was excellent and very friendly. The pool and deck areas with gas firepits and grills were very nice. Paddleboards and kayaks to enjoy. The bathrooms have been renovated. The location is perfect. The cost is reasonable. We will be back next year, for sure!!

We made a last minute trip to Lake George and found this place on a recommendation from another hotel that was booked. This place did not disappoint us. The staff at the front desk were very friendly, accommodating, and welcoming. We didn't realize there was a car show going on that weekend and the staff at the hotel were very nice with helping us park and get situated. Our Room was clean, comfortable, and there was a lot of space. We weren't bothered by our neighbors or any excessive noise. The location is perfect to walk right into the village. And I was pleasantly surprised that the Room rate was reasonable for Lake George, on a weekend, in the summer. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Staying at the Lake Motel was a throwback to staying at the roadside motels I would stay in with my parents when I was a kid. From the smells to the sounds to the decor in the rooms it felt a little like a timewarp back to the early '80s.

First, this isn't a bad thing. The hotel grounds and rooms were very, very clean. The pool area was great fun for the kids and its RIGHT on the lake. It's the kind of place that encourages you to meet new people and to chat with folks by the pool or on the dock over looking the lake - by the way, that's a great feature of their dock, it's two stories tall and provides a great view of the lake as well as of the ducks and fish in the water - instead of isolating you from others with less common areas or events.

One of the things we loved about the Lake Hotel were the nightly events that they planned for the families and kids staying there. Whether it was s'mores night or make your own sundae or candle making, we were there and the kids loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lake Motel and hope to stay there again next summer.

My family of 5 stayed at the Lake Motel in Lake George, NY for the first time on June 12-15, and it won’t be the last!

First of all, you can’t beat the location. Lake Motel is right on the lake, with unobstructed views of the majestic waters of Lake George. The owner, Steve, has taken full advantage of this by building a deck fully equipped with 3 grills plus a Blackstone flat top grill, ample seating areas by way of picnic tables and fire pits surrounded with comfortable Adirondack chairs. My family grilled burgers on our last night, and made s’mores over the fire pits the night before.

There is also a 2-storey dock with even more intimate seating areas where one can enjoy coffee, a cold cocktail, or simply read a book or stare out into the tranquil, clean waters of Lake George. My girls enjoyed looking at the lake from this vantage point.

Kayaks, paddle boards and a raft are available to guests, free of charge! We are by no means water sports athletes or experts but believe me when I say we all went on the kayaks and didn’t come back until 2 hours after! The lake and mountains compelled us to stay there as long as we could, and we had never felt more connected to nature as we did then.

The motel is right in the village as well, so throughout the duration of our stay, we did not find a reason to drive the car out of its parking spot. Everyday, we walked to the village, explored it, and made our choice of where to eat, which was plentiful, by the way!

The heated outdoor pool was a clear winner with all my 3 kids. I feel like I have to say that the pool REALLY was heated to 83F, because so many hotels claim their pools are heated, but you realize it’s a white lie once you take a dip in the pool. Lake Motel clearly believes in truth in advertising because my kids stayed in that pool for hours in sub-75F weather.

I would be doing the owners and staff an injustice if I didn’t mention in this review that the place was immaculately CLEAN. I am not a high maintenance person and do not need to stay in high end, expensive hotels, BUT I am a neat freak and will NOT stay in a hotel that has less than stellar reviews on cleanliness. It’s actually cleanliness and location that are my top considerations on where to stay, and Lake Motel gets excellent ratings on both.

Last but not the least, the owners and staff, particularly Steve and Jorgina, are the humblest, most unassuming, helpful, accommodating, friendly, hardworking people I have ever met. There is a lot of pride and dignity in their work, and their hospitality is one that I will never forget.

We had the most fun, happy, relaxing time that we have decided as a family to make this an annual tradition, coming back every year in June.

Stopped in Lake George for a quick vacation. The Lake Motel is conveniently located. Plus it is on Lake George. Room was spotless. Bathroom is new and modern. Would stay here again.
