Suffolk County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park

In honour and tribute to the service and sacrifice of all Vietnam Veterans.
Was driving by and decided to stop on seeing it.
There is parking available and then a brief walk through the park before you get to the monument itself, which is one of the highest points on Long Island.
This place is calm, quite and peaceful. It isn’t that big but that’s ok.
Definitely visit the monument if you in the area or passing by.

Lovely place, way back when the surrounding trees were shorter and you could look out across the island. Still a very nice park.

A beautiful monument atop one of the highest points on Long Island

Nice memorial for the Vietnam war. One thing I sound funny or or weird I guess was that nowhere on the property was there a plaque or mention of any of the people who died gave their lives or survived the Vietnam war. There are plaques thanking those who financially supported the memorial but nothing about the survivors or deceased.

This park is absolutely beautiful whether you are simply passing or if you decide to take a walk to see the sky high land mark. I was driving around and spontaneously decided to check this place out with my best friend, Marvin. We parked further away from the monument and walked through the park. It was very nice and relaxing and we were able to see the monument from almost every section of the park. We took a lot of great shots and the time in which we visited (around 5PM) the sun hit the monument perfectly. I highly recommend this spot for a nice picnic or mini trip to get yourself outside.

Nice park, and a great view of the South shore. I wish they would trim some of the bushes and trees to the North as well. I've heard there is a lot of sexual activity up here too recently so be careful who you talk to.

A very good Memorial dedicated for the Vietnam veterans in New York this is a good place for all family members and others to go to to remember and to honor those who have served this great for all age groups you will enjoy the scenery around here as well some good places for some photography as well enjoyed the day don't go when it's too cold cuz New York is a cold area this is a outside venue

A beautiful way to pay our respects to those who served in Vietnam. Even though the memorual sits in the center of a four to six lane highway i found it to be peaceful and a beautiful place to visit. I will visit this sitr again and would recommend that you visit it at least once. It is our history and a great place to learn about it.

Very well maintained. A beautiful place with great views Never too crowded which makes it a nice hidden gem.

This is a place of reverence, to reflect on the Vietnam veterans that made the ultimate sacrifice, and those that came home. Please keep this in mind when visiting.

It was an honor to visit and to pay my respects. This area is also a geocache virtual and has other geocaches at this site.

Always loved coming to this plus e even before they built the memorial. Highest spot on island. Nice views .

Beautiful, classy, and reclusive getaway spot. Here it is perfect for walks, or just some quiet time.

Small park dedicated to veterans

Had an extra 15 minutes between appointments and stopped to get some steps in. Enjoyable.
