Jay’s Cycles is a lovely shop with fair prices. Jennifer is kind, patient, and knowledgeable. We tried multiple bicycles to find a size that fit me. When the bicycle i wanted wasn’t in store assembled, they happily ordered one and once it was assembled i got a text to stop back in and make the purchase. Same price as you would get online or anywhere else, the awesome feel of shopping locally with the great prices people find online, an absolute platinum level attribute this store carries.

As i rode around town the last few days i realized things like “oh i need a kit to fix flats and a pump” stopped in looked over what they had, for the most reasonable price a flat repair kit with a spare tire. It was assembled onto my bike while we chatted. I got a kickstand today and talked with Rick about what locks he thinks are the best. All around i would rate this store a 13/10. Even if you live 45 minutes to 1 hour away and are an experience cyclist or someone looking to get back into it after a long hiatus - make the trip.

If you value an informed down to earth distributor with stellar products, get off google reviews and punch the address into google maps. Go check out Jay’s Cycles and see for yourself.

Excellent, friendly, knowledgeable service! We had a great experience purchasing a bike rack and a new bike. I believe the woman who helped us was named Kim. She was amazing

Bought my bike here about 2 months ago. And after about 50 miles of riding both front and rear derailers were shifting rough and occasionally the chain popped off. Brought it in and they were happy to make a quick adjustment while I waited. Good folks and good shop.
Thanks.

If I could give Jay's Cycles more than 5 stars I would. It's family owned and run. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, patient and extremely low-pressure. The bike that I wanted wasn't currently available but Jennifer and Rich made sure that I got it quickly. The shop's stock is extensive and if it isn't in stock they'll get it for you. After-sales support is great and their (terrific) mechanics service all makes of bike.

Jay's was great with my new bike! They ordered the style and size that I needed and it came in early. I bought my first bike here and had to come back to replace my 30 year old model. Ride on!

My friend and I rode in the mud and rain the previous day and had loaded our bikes into the car overnight which prevented it from being aired out properly resulting in minor rust and squeaky chains. We stopped by Jay's Cycle and Jennifer from the bike shop came out to take a look and offered to apply lube to the chains for us which fixed the squeaky chains immediately. Thank you Jennifer for the "free lube and free advice"! If I were local to Princeton, I would come here for any bike servicing needs!

Great shop! I rode into Princeton after a trip on Amtrak with an issue with my seat stem and they happily fixed it up (5 min before closing!) and didn’t charge me. Good folks!

I've been coming to this place for 10 years, since 2014. Over the years, I tried other bike shops, but they never were quite as smooth, functional, amicable, and creative as Jen and Rich from Jay's Cycles. There has never been a service too small to get the best service: Over the years, I would get my chain changed after the winter, when the salt had made it completely rusty; or I would get a few accessories to improve my commute; or I would use the compressed air they make available to the community. Eventually I got a bike from here, and I haven't been disappointed.

They helped me through a number of bad fixes, including getting my bike damaged by a car, and also — sadly! — me damaging someone else's bike.

Even now that I have moved 25 mins away, I often find myself coming here as it is the only place I know for sure I can often get exactly what I need.

Very good people, very good bike shop, and has been for a long time.

After visiting every bicycle shop in Mercer County, I’m so happy that I made my purchase at Jay’s. They were the most knowledgeable and helpful and really spent a lot of time making sure I got the right bike for my size.. Rory Was an exceptional salesman. Also got a great sale price.

Jay cycle shop is A number one. Excellent service, people who care and some 8 years later after my initial purchase they provided me with the invoice of my original purchase in 2015.

And despite the fact that my bike was stolen, they provided me with the necessary registration information and referral.

Because I rode a review about my experience at Specialty Sports in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the owner Jay reached out to me to find out how he could be of assistance since initially I wrote a letter of concern regarding a bad experiencing purchasing a Kona bike at Specialty Sports in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Jay reached out to try to discern who in his shop may have referred me to a sports store rather than a Trek dealer.

Jay was courteous, concerned, and offered his assistance to try to straighten out any situation that I may have regarding the purchase of a new bike. Customer service like this rarely exists these days.

Jay not only offered to advise me but offered his help in the future should I need support.

I've been a customer of Jay's Cycles for many years. They have a convenient in-town location and have always offered a decent selection of bikes and competent sales and repair advice, but they haven't always been known for friendly customer service. That's why I'm extra pleased to be able to report a great repair experience.

A couple of weeks ago on a Saturday, I brought my bike in for repair of a broken spoke. I also decided to have my chain, which was stretched out, replaced. When I arrived, I received a friendly greeting, and there was no wait to be served.

The service rep warned me that my bike probably wouldn't be ready until Wednesday or Thursday. Although I didn't look forward to being without it for that long, that seemed okay, and was shorter than the wait at another bike shop I had called.

On Monday, I got a text message saying the bike was ready! I went to the store, and sure enough, it was. Again, I experienced a friendly greeting, and was able to pay and receive my bike within minutes.

The cost was reasonable, too -- $30 for replacing a spoke and truing the wheel, and $40 for the chain, plus tax. That included parts and labor.

Kudos to Jay's for the friendly service and speedy repairs.

Had the pleasure of meeting Jay, the owner of Jay’s Cycle, while on a ride. He invited me to join him and we have had several fun rides together. Jay has lots of knowledge of the cycling industry and is eager to share. I had some mechanical issues (flat tires) and Jay luckily had a spare and CO2 and made the repairs roadside for me so we could continue our ride. Wouldn’t even take payment for the repair.
Jay is an honest and fair business owner. If in the market for a bike or service, I encourage you to give Jay a try!
