The Clinton House

Stay away from the king crab legs. At $105 a pound, you are way better off with the twin lobster tails with stuffing, as opposed to what seemed to be a pound of leftover scraps. The 6 oz filet was cooked to perfection. The lobster stuffing is to die for !!! Bartender was very friendly. The atmosphere is beautiful.

Yesterday was our second time visiting the Clinton House, and once again we absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is great, and the staff friendly and attentive. Our food was once again delicious and we never felt rushed at all. Our server, John, who is also part-time management, was excellent. We will be back.

This establishment was everything everyone told me it was and some. The atmosphere walking in was rustic and beautiful. We sat at the bar until our table was ready and had a drink. The drinks were well made and the bartender was very personable. The food was great, particularly the beef Wellington and prime rib. Our waitress did an amazing job making our special evening one to remember. Thank you for a great Valentine’s Day!!!

2nd visit. Excellent! Just as good ss the 1st time. Food was great, drinks were good, service was fantastic.

The absolute best! Great food, friendly wait staff, all around good time. Every meal at out table was cooked perfect! Def. Recommend visiting and trying their food. I got to try the beef wellington for the 1st time after seeing it sooooo many times on Hells Kitchen.

Coming back from a business affair in New Jersey and stopped in to the Clinton House based on other Google reviews. The building itself is from the 1700's, There is a cool vibe when you walk in that takes you back in time. We were seated right away for lunch without a reservation. Being a Monday afternoon the restaurant was fairly quiet. Our server Gigi did a great job of taking care of us, the food was excellent and the prices were in-line with the quality of the food.

Great history place with elegant setting by a nice fireplace, nice service and great food. Only comment is that the bread should be complementary. It took us a while to notice that it was not and by the time we ordered it, although fresh and delicious, it came with the entree.

The Clinton House is the perfect place to enjoying good company, delicious food and a great and friendly service. The environment en warm and relaxing, the ambient music is soft allowing conversation. The appetizer, a portobello fried was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The main dish, a roasted duck was moist and well seasoned, the sweet potato purée was very well balanced and a good match for the duck. Finally, the desert, a raspberry tart was the golden ribbon, a good balance between the raspberry acidity the cream and ice cream that brought memories for grandma cooking. The wine selection was good to pair these dishes.

Such a picturesque restaurant! Sat across from the fireplace, drinks came right out. Our server John was very attentive, gave good suggestions. Food was excellent (filet medallions, braised short ribs).
Highly recommend if you're in the area, Clinton is a nice little town for a weekend jaunt.

Very cozy, sat by the fireplace on a cold rainy day. This is a historic building in a great location. The food was excellent but yes, it is pricey, but we had beef Wellington and filet mignon, so there's that lol !
The service and atmosphere are perfect. Highly recommend if you are willing to spend the $.

We knew this restaurant best food. Come true taste Champion. Warm Baguette with side salted butter, Seafood Newburg, and French onion soup both taste grade A+. Baguette with butter taste alike heaven.

Excellent food served by a friendly staff in a quaint historic building. We were sharing all of our dishes so they brought extra plates and utensils to simplify the process. One note of caution, parking in the area can be difficult and they have only limited street parking available nearby.

We had not been here in years as the service and food quality had dropped off sharply. We were told it had turned things around and after a recent dinner we agree. I had the filet and it was great tasting and cooked to the correct temperature. The atmosphere was also improved in the main dining area. The service was top notch. We will be adding this back into our regular dining rotation.

Just had another incredible dining experience at The Clinton House! I’ve been going here for over 50 years and it just continues to get better and better!
The menu choices are outstanding, and the presentation of each dish is always impeccable. The prime rib, available from Friday to Sunday, is the best anywhere—bring your appetite for the King cut!. The traditional beef Wellington would even humble Gordon Ramsey😂 , with tender beef and flaky pastry that melts in your mouth. Always a go to choice for me on mid-week indulgences. The appetizers, like the burrata and crab cocktail, are absolutely delicious and a perfect way to start the meal. Equally impressive to me is what some might consider the vegetarian option - the eggplant rollatini is bursting with rich and creamy flavor. While I am by no means a vegetarian, I often share this main course as an appetizer (that’s a lie😳 - I don’t share it😜) Whether you're a vegetarian or not, their eggplant rollatini is an absolute must-try.

At the risk of making the fine dining establishment even harder to get into, I highly recommend dining here for one of the best restaurant experiences New Jersey has to offer! FYI, I am genuinely only a customer, But feel this restaurant deserves all the praise I can offer❣

Our first visit was excellent. We were welcomed at the front desk and seated at a lovely table by the window. Our server, Erica was attentive and friendly. The food is delicious. The building is beautiful,with features from 1743. Thank you for an incredible dining experience.

The best restaurant in Clinton, New Jersey. Beautiful and old construction where you can enjoy a warm fireplace, with incomparable service and delicious dishes.
I loved the french onion soup, portobello fried and raspberry tart.

I was early for lunch by 20 minutes but was greeted and seated by a welcoming host. Had a great corn-beef Rueben. The staff was attentive but not bothersome. I highly recommend The Clinton House.

Fine Dining, great atmosphere and attentive staff. I took my wife and my cousin to the Clinton House in late October for the first time and discovered this fine place. Our server (aka culinary director), Erika O provided such an excellent experience, that I took my business colleague there last evening. Luck would have it that we were served by Erika once again; and Tom and I had a seamless and delicious dinner while pondering the fate of the global economy....(ok, ok racing Porsche's at Lime Rock Park). Great Place....My new "Go2 destination".

Another great visit. The lump crab meat was moist sweet and on point. The veal porterhouse was cooked to perfection and the mushroom sauce accompanying it was delicious. Service was spot on. Definite return vist
