Been around for 40+ years. Still to this day call it Wagner's with my family. Excellent store, Family owned, Locally operated and always has been. They've been working towards making updates to machinery over the past few years to keep going strong. Personally I really hope to see the son come back and take over when the parents retire. Been using exclusively since Ideal on 27th burned down (cause I sure don't shop what replaced Ideal there). If you're not from the neighborhood then you won't understand this store's style and importance!

I worked at A Street Market for 6 years, I started when I was 15 worked all through high school and even through college. I attended college outside of Lincoln and Angela and Larry were always flexible and let me come back during breaks, which was extremely helpful and allowed me to come back home during those breaks. Working at A Street Market I always felt apart of a family. When I grew up at the store, I made some of my best friends. I cannot speak highly enough about the family environment and support I felt from the owners and other employees. Larry and Angela taught taught me great skills at a young age and that helped me grow as a young adult that prepared and gave me skills I can use in adulthood and for my career.

I worked at A Street Market under Angela Barry and Larry Baus for 7 years! I started off when I was 14 as a sacker, and was given countless opportunities for growth and success. I eventually made my way up to manager, schedule writer, and even did accounting weekly. Not only did Angela and Larry set me up for success, but they encouraged me and provided a great environment to work hard in. Each employee was given goals to achieve, and had several opportunities for raises, as they were earned. My schedule was able to be made flexible as I was involved in activities in high school, and they worked wonderfully around my college class schedule. I met several of my best friends because of this store, and was able to grow as a person and as a worker under their direction. I loved my time working there! Angela was like a mother to me, and keeps in touch with her former employees just like they are her own children. She has taught me some of the greatest lessons that I have learned in life, all by working at a family-owned grocery store.
Not only did I love working there, but I absolutely love shopping there. The produce is fresh, and Steve's meat is unmatched. Sadie in the bakery/deli made lovely trays for my bridal shower that everyone could not get enough of. They provide the highest quality in all of their products.
I highly recommend stopping into the store so that you can support small businesses and get to know the lovely staff that operate A Street Market!

I worked at A Street Market for three years during college. I came from out of state and felt immediately welcomed by the store owners Angela Barry and Larry Baus. I was given several opportunities to advance, I started as a cashier and moved onto produce manager, tobacco manager, and schedule writer. They were so accommodating with my class schedule and really helped me find a way to still get the hours I needed. The flexibility in schedule writing found here is such an anomaly in the retail world, and something that I greatly appreciated as a student. I sadly no longer live in town but like to visit when I am in Lincoln. The meat selection is always amazing and I love the local products that are ordered in!

A street market truly is a family business and when you work there you will feel like part of the family. Angela treated her employees like her own children and I remain in contact with her to this day. I gained several lifelong friends through my time at A street Market and am forever grateful for having met them. I often look back on my time at A street fondly and am so glad that I found this family store to work at and be a part of college memories. I learned skills here that I have carried into my career and will forever be greatful for my time at this wonderful store.

This neighborhood market has come in handy for last minute shopping as well as late night snack runs, and we really love that it's walkable for us. It's not the sort of place to go for a specific ingredient, but as it's not a major grocery chain store, that's to be expected. The store is always clean and well stocked, and the employees are helpful when needed, but otherwise always appear to be working hard. I've seen another reviewer state they were followed through the store, speculating that it was due to their tattoos, but my husband and I are both covered in ink and have never given it a second thought at the store, so I definitely wouldn't be concerned about that. All in all, A Street is a great little market, and you'll catch us walking the dog there for something at least once a week!

I've never been to this market before, although I've driven by it for years. Really cute little store. Inside it has an "old" feeling, but it's clean, well organized and has a personal feel to it. I didn't really pay attention to prices as I only needed 2 things, but I did get huge pumpkins there. They were half the price compared to most other places!

I went to this establishment last month and was helped by the nicest young man named Jacob. He helped me find all of the items I had on my list, gave me tips on how select the best produce, and even carried my 14 bags of groceries to my 1997 Honda Civic. Just a spectacular shopping experience overall! 👍

A St Market owner Angela and deli manager Sadie exemplify the meaning of superior customer service. We recently celebrated my Mom’s 90th birthday in an all day event and we hired A St Market to cater it. The food and the service was absolutely wonderful!!!

We have nicknamed this "The Little Store" and kindly refer to it as such when we talk about where we stopped to get something we needed. I'm not sure what we would do without it as we stop there 4-5 times a week to pick up things we need or even do a small shop for groceries. The staff is always friendly and willing to carry your groceries out for you. I truly hope they stay in business forever, everyone should have the opportunity to have a store like this in their neighborhood.

1. I bought a cantaloupe here last week, best cantaloupe I've had, and in the middle of winter no less.
2. Chandler's Sandhills Honey, and other local Nebraska products.
3. Had a great chat with the friendly cashiers.

I love this little store and the staff I've known Rachelle for nore than 10 years and shes always helpful and really nice to talk to. The meat is better than hyvee and they had fresh hatch chillies this year and I stocked up for the winter !

Nice little grocery store with good meat and produce. They often surprise me with some of the stuff I'm able to find there. Decent prices and good sales, plus local products if you're looking to support community producers. Very friendly staff, too.

Easy to get in and out since it is small but they have a great selection and are really fast to call up another Checker whenever needed. it is also in my neighborhood and they support Lincoln High School activities so I am a happy camper!

It's getting hard for me to cover all the ground in big stores like HyVee. It was nice to be able to get everything I needed without wearing myself. I even got a great deal on the #1 thing on my list, a pot roast!

There is nothing as convenient as having a quality neighborhood grocery store. A St Market has a great meat department and I appreciate being able to get artisan breads, fresh flowers, grab a cup of coffee with my newspaper and enjoy an extensive produce department.

One of my favorite little stores in town, great neighborhood grocer, I am 55 and have been going since I was a kid when it was wagners! Recently on a couple visits I was watched like a thief which I was very offended by because I am not a Thief and found it very disrespectful , dont know if I will be going back!!!!

I love this store only if they're a little cheaper at make life a lot happier but I really love going to a street the employees are friendly and you can find almost anything you need and if they don't have it they will do their best to get it in for you

There was an unfortunate misunderstanding, that had ended in some hurt feelings, but the owner went above and beyond to fix the situation. VERY happy with the superb service and personal care from her and the staff. They have new loyal customers!
