I had my hair cut by Pete and my son had his cut by Ryan. Great experience. Great cut, at a more than fair price. My son loved it, and Ryan was awesome with him.

We've found our spot, and are looking forward to going back.

If you're looking for the perfect cut, go to this location off Chicago. The other location is NOT affiliated with Chicago location (though they have the same name). I've been to both and this one is, IT! Everyone does an amazing job but Mike (who I consistently use) is top notch. Consistent, great cut every time.

I have never had a bad experience and have gotten cuts from several of them before booking exclusively with Ryan.

Ryan is a true master of the art! I have to give him a very special shout-out for going above and beyond with my hair! The cut itself is great; he shaves it down, lines it up and blends it to perfection. He even cuts a different design each time (not an easy task but he absolutely nails it!). These pictures do not do it justice (I am fresh from the cut before I have even gotten up from the chair in the 1 pic, and in the other, it was taken by myself without looking and does not truly showcase his work. I also want to point out that the crooked dividing line in the first picture was my own doing and he has since straightened it our for me)!

I also have to give a shout-out to Jeri. She is great with my son (who is still young, therefore adding complications to the mix)! I have never been disappointed in her results and he really enjoys the experience as well (this is very important). She has also done my hair and I could not have been happier with the results. She also does great facial massages (Oh so relaxing!!!!!)

I wish I could mention all of you in this review, but it has already turned into a book (kudos to everyone that has read this far and my apologies to everyone else).

I seriously need to invest in gold stars to give all them for jobs well done, but in the meantime, a 5 star review on Google will have to suffice.

Master Ryan is the man. Just got my first cut by him this afternoon. Meticulous attention to every detail, cuts as you want, but isn’t afraid to throw some inspiration at you. Trust.

Pete is my guy and always provides great service and quality cuts. They also have a beer fridge so you can enjoy a cold one while you get your hair cut.

Recently was on the hunt for a new barber.
While waiting outside at the veterinarian, located next door, I watched shaggy, scruffy men go in and sharp looking men come out. Been there twice since C-19 allowed them to be open. They are diligent in making sure all precautions are taken to insure safety without. I think I've found what I was looking for.

I've had cuts from Mike and others at Southside. My kids also go here for their haircuts. Everyone in this shop pays attention to details and are at the top of their craft. Combine that with great prices and ambiance, this is a great place to get your haircut.

Ryan and the owner Mike are my go-to guys!

I used to go to the chain haircut places thinking there was no big difference (I'm a balding white male), and then I decided to give an authentic Barbershop experience a try. The difference is clear cut (haha) - it is so noticeable! Mike is an amazing barber and is all about getting it right and taking his time. Awesome environment, cool music, and definitely old school barbershop feel. Check it out, I promise you won't be disappointed and will be back.

When I find a barber I love, I stick with them. Mike is my guy. His cuts are clean, precise, and he's just such a good dude. We have three generations in our family who go to see Mike. Plus, he just made some new dope t-shirts for his shop, and I definitely picked one up. Do yourself a favor and schedule with Mike!

I have been going to Ryan for a very long time and followed him from another shop to here. Both Mike and Ryan will give you the best hair cut you have ever had. I started going to Mike when he was at the Bloomington location and it wasn't a surprise that the new Chicago location was clean, organized, and equally as welcoming as the first one. The quality you get far exceeds the value and it's consistent every time. While in the shop, I have admired the work of other barbers there and it's equally as good. I have recommended Southside Barber Lounge to several people and will continue to recommend the Chicago Avenue location. Grade A. Its truly grade A!
