Great Giant Supermarket

I absolutely love this restaurant! I ordered here 4-5 times in the last six months from Uber Eats, and every single time it has arrived my food has been cooked perfectly and still warm! This is an amazing feat, because I live on the NE side. They take great care of their takeout packaging as well. They use tin foil to keep the food warm. I cannot speak very much on their supermarket, as I have not been there recently.

𝐒𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐬
I love, love, love their smothered pork chops. Every single time I have been here except for one, this is what I've ordered. It's two fried pork chops smothered in their beef gravy, which is made in-house. Absolutely delicious. Very flavorful. These will definitely make you hurt yourself from over-eating if you're not careful. Definitely like how mama used to make!

𝐌𝐚𝐜 '𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞
I'm very picky with most mac 'n cheese. It reminds me of Kraft Instant Mac 'n Cheese if it's not done right. This has not been one of those times. Their baked mac 'n cheese is made with cavatappi noodles, which is a perfect vessel for their cheese sauce. Also comes topped with bread crumbs. Absolutely delicious. It is definitely home cooked.

This is definitely a must-try dish! Honestly, between this and the mac 'n cheese, I would come here just for those two things. Their loaded mash comes with a house blend of cheeses and then it is topped off with bacon, and then baked in the oven! The mashed potatoes are creamy while the cheese and bacon is not overpowering. A great side to any meal they offer.

These were not my favourite, but to no fault of the cooks! The chicken was very juicy and it fell off the bone because it was so tender. I just think the seasoning isn't my forte.

I really liked this! It is made with house-made chicken broth and then toasted. The only thing missing from that is a side of gravy! Yum.

The portion sizes here are absolutely HUGE! I usually have one meal last me all day and still have enough for a second day if I can restrain myself from eating it all in one sitting. Their cornbread (which you get with every meal) is really tasty and it reminds me of having dessert. You get all of your drinks from a standard 12oz can, which I love. It's name-branded as well. For water, they give you some of the best; Ice Mountain Spring Water. If I had the money, I would totally buy from Great Giant Supermarket every single day. Hats off to the chefs, keep on cooking because it's some of the best soul food in Grand Rapids!

There food Excellent! Collard greens the Best! Soft tacos and rice need's pickle jalapeno 's in it! I like spicy food.

Ordered the oxtails dinner and fish dinner today for the first time and I can honestly say the food was excellent with huge portions. I'll definitely be back!!

I got the Sweet Chili Chicken Tenders, loaded mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese and one of the Smothered Pork Chops. All I can say is: wow. It was so incredibly good. Everything was fantastic. A+++ Definitely recommend.

I genuinely can't believe how good this place is. I ordered off doordash and am blown away by the quality and the tastiness. The chicken wings, the mashed potatoes, the baked mac n cheese. It's stupid how good this place is.

I wasn’t aware that this was an in-supermarket hot food counter until I went to write this review. I would have never expected this quality level of food out of a counter kitchen. Very, very tasty.

Definitely worth trying if you’re looking for an affordable meal, will have to try the more traditional soul food offerings next time!

Just ordered the Chicken Leg meal with greens & sweet potatoes. Literally the best meal I've had all year for a very good price. Do yourself a favor, order anything from this place.

I love this grocery store! They always have everything I need. And when they don’t, the always make sure to order it. Great friendly staff! And the kitchen has amazing hot food ready! I even sometimes come here for my lunch. Definitely a must try!

This store is awesome! Staff is friendly, place is always clean, prices are great and the food in the deli counter is delicious. I’ve been shopping here since it’s been under new management and I really appreciate that the shelves are always full! I highly recommend coming here.

I love what the new owners are doing with this store. Prices are starting to be more reasonable. Still needs help on a lot of items. Especially the frozen food areas. But the meat department is really reasonable now. Before i would never grocery shop here. Everything was way too expensive. Now i get weekly ads texted to me so i don't miss a sale. Even the fresh deli food cooked daily is going down in price. Suggestion: come down on the price of side dishes for meals and the deli should have a menu and price list daily because there is different food out daily. No one knows how much anything is unless you ask someone. My only complaints. Great job new owners keep up the good work.

Everyone is willing to help. If product isn't on shelf...someone will go in the back and get it for you. Also they don't just disappear into the stock room never to "return"😏. Looks like they're doing some renovations which is great! I hope to continue shopping there as long as it is safe and clean. It would be nice if all the store fronts in that strip did something to make it more appeasing to the eye. More trash cans would be nice...and a good scrubbing of the parking lot would really help. Overall though I don't mind shopping there. I have to add that I had a problem with item pricing so I talked with the owner and all I'm going to say is he made it right, although I was at fault after he showed me the error...which again was my fault, he still insisted on going above and beyond. To me that makes all the difference and I'll continue to do business with them. Thank-you.

Every time I've ordered it's been fresh, hot, consistent, and so incredibly good. There is love and culture cooked in with the food, everything tastes like my auntie made it. It really is food for the soul 💙

Ordered through door dash. It was fast and on time. The ribs were very good. The meat was falling off the bone. The sauce could be better. It's a corporate BBQ sauce like Gordon's or something. Still good enough to rate 5 stars.

The store was very clean and well appointed with popular items the is very convenient and practical to purchase for every day use. GREAT selection of many kinds of meats and seafood. The store has a lot of frozen meats and seafoods in bulk for purchase. They also have a hot and cold deli with many variety of foods to tantalize the taste buds. All summed up it's a GREAT PLACE to shop with convenience.

Store has been under new management for a while now. The selection has vastly improved (still could use more low sugar and diet options). The deli/buffet staff does an amazing, authentic job with their recipes.
