Hampton Inn McHenry

Check in was easy, I was given the type of room I requested when booking on line. The room was clean, beds were very comfortable. I really liked the shades on the window, really darkened the room as opposed to curtains that most hotels have. The room was supper quite both nights. The breakfast was a little better than a lot of other hotels. Coffee was available 24/7. The pool area was very clean, but the water was rather on the cool side. All of the staff were friendly. I would stay here again.

The best hotel in McHenry. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I usually get the king room with a couch and it is huge. The gym is very well equipped despite being small. My only complaint is that the restaurant in front of the hotel is closed so there is nothing to eat in walking distance.

The room was perfect for 2 adults and 3 kids. Would even work well for 3 couples. Spacious, clean and updated. The fro t desk service was nice as well as housekeeping, breakfast staff and the check out personnel. The location is great. Only a few mins away from home for a quick little staycation to kick start spring break. The pool was clean, warm and not busy at all. Plenty of towels to dry off with as well. We will recommend this location to anyone looking in the area. Can't wait to stay again!

We booked a block of rooms for my daughter's wedding and Julie made that process easy but she was hard to reach afterwards. I found that I needed to follow up any email with a phone call asking her to please respond to the email. In the end everyone was happy with the accommodations and the breakfast was good.

Our heater broke and it was peak winters. We decided to move to this hotel until it got fixed. The lady at the front desk was absolutely warm and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and had a nice stay. The wifi was great and my husband could do his office work without any issues. Value for money!

The room was clean, styled very nice and seemed somewhat recently renovated. The staff at the front desk were polite and attentive. The continental breakfast was your regular breakfast, nothing fancy. I will say there didn't seem to be enough seating especially when they are full. One really nice thing is the restaurant right next door. The Bulldog Ale House. Highly recommend it. Great beer/drink selection and great food and service.

For the level of hotel this is, it was great. My first impression walking in last night was that it’s clean. Going up to our room, the hallway seemed bright, not like the dingy interior of some other hotel hallways. The room was spacious with furniture to meet our needs. Bed was comfy.
Breakfast was free with scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes as well as fruit, muffins, oatmeal, etc.
Compliments to all the staff: front desk, housekeeping and breakfast area. All were friendly and efficient. When we’re in the area, we’ll definitely stay again.

Had such a lovely stay at Hampton Inn in McHenry. My husband and I were staying here to attend his mom’s funeral. The check in was so fast, and friendly, Bob was great to us. Had a personalized tv screen when we opened our very clean and cozy room. Breakfast was wonderful. Staff very friendly and location is great. Will definitely stay again

Very nice eating area with fireplace. Only small complaint was that TV faces couch and is 90° to bed. Can adjust some, but not ideal. Suite was spacious.

We were in town for my husbands mother’s funeral, and had such a nice stay. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like family. Breakfast was great, and the location was perfect. Will definitely stay again

Rooms were great! Emily was a great front desk person! Clean rooms, nice showers, and the breakfast buffet was just ok. The potatoes weren't cooked all the way and the bacon was a little r raw for me but other than that.... highly recommend!

We won a little weekend getaway that included a stay here, and it did not disappoint! Breakfast was kept open until 10am and was VERY well stocked and plentiful. LOTS of choices and hot foods. Pool was open and nice. Ample selections on the TV. Wonderful stay with plenty of access to McHenry hotspots like the Riverwalk, drive-in, downtown shopping, etc.

Everything was wonderful! The staff was extremely friendly. The room was very clean and came with a few essentials like body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and a bar to wash your face with. There was a great variety for the breakfast bar including red velvet waffles and sausage with breakfast potatoes. They had a large pool that I didn't use but the fitness room was great! I was able to keep up with my work out routine while away from home.

Best place to stay in McHenry! The rooms are comfortable, but the mattresses are little too firm.

The TV was having issues the entire time with the picture freezing for 5 seconds at a time. Then the rite stopped, so we had to get new batteries. Other that that, it was great, 👍 including the breakfast.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days. As someone who travels alot, I'm happy to give this hotel and staff a GLOWING REVIEW. The hotel is so clean and the staff is absolutely AMAZING!!! I've never seen a maid staff work so hard and take souch pride in doing your job at a level way above and beyond. ( Seriously these ladies are dripping sweat everyday) I took the time to speak with many of them one on one. Everyone was just lovely. I would 100% recommend this hotel. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

Coming to the end of a 12 day stay and I can honestly say this has been one of the best hotel experiences I have had to date. I have been welcomed by Everett in the mornings with the complimentary breakfast. He takes the time to welcome guests and make sure their breakfast needs are met. He cares about guests and it definitely shows.
I'm sure I haven't interacted with all of the hotels employees, but specifically Emily, Myriam, Tim and the managers have been extremely helpful and caring of my specific needs when a room cleaning mistakenly disposed of a few of my personal belongings. The way the situation was handled was EXTREMELY professional and better than I expected. Thank you all very much for being the great people you are. The pool was quite chilly but clean. Kids won't be bothered by it at all I'm sure.lol
The people that are working here now make you feel like family. Thanks for a great experience 10/11/22.

I am pleasantly surprised by this gem in a small town. Check in took maybe 2 minutes - the gentleman who checked me in was professional and incredibly friendly. The property is spotless and clearly well managed. My room is sufficient with 2 queen beds with excellent sheets and lovely duvets. Did I mention spotless? The housekeeping staff must be top tier because everything is perfect. The showers are well designed and well stocked - did I mention spotless? Oh - and a full breakfast buffet in a dining space that was... you guessed it - spotless! I definitely recommend this location. I'm visiting from out of state.

We flew to IL from PA for a family wedding. We got to the hotel early (about 11am) and we were exhausted. We took a chance and asked if our room was ready….it was not, but they were kind enough to give us a room that had just been cleaned. We were so thankful. Everyone was so kind, especially Emily at the front desk. The room was super clean and the gym was great! My only complaints would be that I would have preferred a tub instead of standup shower, the pool wasn’t heated and there wasn’t a hot tub. But other than that, we would absolutely visit again!!

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay this past weekend. We were visiting friends in Crystal Lake and the hotel options were few and far between. Im used to higher end hotels with work travel but Hampton Inn was selected based on others reviews and it lived up to them. Rooms were clean and accommodating. I was impressed by the digital key access and no need for front desk check in or check out with the app. Really easy. My husband used the gym and they even had an peloton! And our family used the pool-although small it was a perfect little pool session for our visit. By far, I think the free breakfast was the best part. Everything was clean and organized. Make your own waffles? Really great stay. Oh and there’s a bar/restaurant in the same parking lot which is super convenient for a dinner option. I will definitely consider Hampton Inn in the future.
