I always received top notch service at a reasonable cost from Carlton Auto Repair. They complete a thorough review of your vehicle before calling you with the service they believe is actually needed. Several times I suggested repairs, and they have correctly told me that those repairs could be safely deferred. They deserve their 5 star reviews!

I love taking my vehicles to Carlton. They are so friendly and I can trust them to shoot straight with me, not recommend work that isn’t necessary, and do it with excellence. I had been a long-time customer of another local shop but lost confidence in their commitment to these things, so I made the switch to Carlton and am so glad I did.

I had a check engine light go on and took it into to look at. They were very communicative and professional while looking over my car. They also noted that my tires needed replacing and even suggested going else where to save money, but I let them do it. I love them and trust them, so happy to have a mechanic I can trust to be honest about the best choices for my car.

Hey Hey! For 30+ Years I've been trusting Carlton. They've always been great. Fair, reasonable, and a pleasure to work with. The need for an occasional repair or maintenance is unavoidable, but knowing that Carlton has my back takes the edge off and even adds a silver lining to each need. I get to see my old friends, and I know they'll take good care of me without taking too much of my money.

What a great experience! Bob quickly figured out the problem and he worked with my schedule so that the work could be done. The price was much better than what I would have paid elsewhere and I truly appreciated his honesty. Carlton will NOT have you pay for service you don't need. Such a rarity these days!

I called the minute they opened at 8:00am. I explained that there was a grinding sound coming from my rear wheel and it was locking up. They said they would have time to look at it that afternoon. I dopped off my car and waited for a call back after inspection. They performd a very thorough inspection on all four wheels, brakes, etc.. and determined that the back brakes needed to be replaced. I authorized the work and they had the car done before 3pm that day. They did an incredible job at a great price. The car has never braked better and the ride is quiet and smooth. I will definitely use Carlton Auto Repair for all my auto repair needs.

I trust them implicitly. They are great mechanics and they are thorough. If something may need addressing they let you know, but not pressuring you to get it done. They are genuine and truly care about the service they are providing.

More than once I have brought a car here for a full checkup and they've given me the green light to take it home without trying to upsell me on a single thing. When repairs are needed, they do them fast and for a reasonable price, and they always call to discuss first. They are the best.

When my check engine light came on, I called Carlton. We are long time customers and would not trust taking our cars anywhere else. The best customer service and auto repair service there is!

Outstanding, honest service...
I was referred to Russ and Bob at Carlton Auto about 25 years ago. They have serviced many cars owned by our family. They are not only competent but honest and fair in their dealings. Recently a dealer service department suggested an expensive repair on my car. Carlton actually repaired it for a fair price rather than simply replace parts for an outrageous price as suggested by the dealer service department. Don't hesitate to use the fine services that Carlton Auto offers, you will never be disappointed!!

I went in not knowing what was wrong with my car, but it was randomly not responding to any key fob or key in the ignition. We would jump it, but it would die right away. I took it in to Carlton (they fit me in on short notice after school, as I am a teacher) assuming I needed a new battery. However, they checked the charge and knew it wasn't a dead battery, so they didn't charge me for one. In fact, they didn't charge me for anything, since they thought my problem was a malfunctioning trunk latch. I was very impressed with their honesty and expertise! Definitely going back!

Have had my car there twice recently, on totally unrelated issues. They were able to diagnose the issues & correct/repair right away each time at fair prices.
They also checked over some minor issues I asked them to look into & did not try to pressure me into anything extra. (Tire pressure sensors are not critical!) :)

A trust-worthy business is a treasure these days, and Carlton Auto is one! I appreciate their honest appraisal of what my car needs, and friendly help in taking care of any issues. I recently took in our 2003 van for an oil change (after about 18 months of light use) and suggested that maybe the tires should be rotated. Russ determined that the better tires were on the front, so did not recommend rotating them - saving me that cost! Building trust is a sure way to build business; thanks, Carlton Auto!

Carlton Auto Repair was originally recommended to me by the person we bought our house in Wheaton from. I’ve been getting my own, and my kids’ cars, inspected and repaired there since.
The service is friendly, prompt and I have never had an issue. Having some automotive knowledge, but not being a gear head, I have to rely on the mechanics being honest, and thus far Carlton Auto has never given me reason to doubt their expertise and recommendations with respect to necessary repairs.
I can only highly recommend Carlton Auto Repair to anyone that needs help getting their vehicles checked and fixed.
As a bonus, locally produced honey is for sale. How could one possibly say “No” to that.
