Green Bird Inn

This hotel was perfect for what we needed. Our ac went out during a road trip back to Colorado and we needed a cold place for our 4 animals to hang out until night fall to continue our drive. Green Bird Inn was recommended to us by the local fire department and they were incredible. We were in a room within 10 minutes and the price was incredible even with the pet fees. The rooms aren't anything fancy or new but that's not why you book a room here. It was what you need and is clean and tidy. Would stay again and highly recommend!

This is a perfectly nice place to stay. Safe, comfortable bed, long hot showers with good pressure, tastefully done modern decor. Bring your own shampoo and such. It's available, it's just not anything I would purchase for myself. It's always a wonder for me, why do folks flock to almost triple the cost chains, when there are nice locally owned next door?

Clean room, no stains on carpet, friendly service. We felt safe. Family of 4, young adult sons and 2 parents, got two adjoining rooms. Both rooms were very nice . Everything we needed.

If you are reading this and wondering whether to stop or not. You must STOP! You will not regret it. In todays end stage capitalism you can't find businesses that actually seem to care anymore. This place changed that in Vernon, TX. We had left an awful hotel in Wichita Falls, TX. We gave this one a shot being right down the road and wow. The double rooms had queen instead of full beds and the rooms were in emaculate shape. All the amentiites promised were functioning and functioning well. They are one of the few to offer shampoo, conditioner, and soap at no extra charge. They offer free breakfast and are reasonable people. This is my new 5 star standard

The honesty and integrity of this owner is unparalleled. He was so kind and accommodating my mishap. I stayed here on a cross country trip and left a very valuable item in my room by accident. I contacted the owner the following day and he had found it and secured it in his possession. He even went above and beyond, and personally facilitated shipping of this valuable piece and insisted on not taking any compensation. I was so impressed by his kindness and honesty, I’m so thankful for good people. 10/10 would stay here again!!

Stopped here for the night, location easy to access right off the highway with a good dinner place next door. The hotel service is friendly and the rooms were very clean and tidy. Air conditioner kept the room very comfortable and noise around was hardly any, I appreciate the big parking area too.

I was very impressed with this place. They have done a lot of nice updates to it. It was comfortable. Everything works good. The customer service desk is friendly. Close to a gas station and fast food. Quiet area safe area good parking I will return again there whenever I passed through for work. Keep up the good work.

Place is phenomenal, from the service (very kind owner) to the cleanliness and care with which the hotel is run. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a comfortable stay for a very reasonable price.

Very basic and very clean, right off the freeway. Perfect for staying the night during a road trip when you don't need the amenities of a 5 stars hotel. Will stay there again.

Very comfy bed, clean room, they are pet friendly, and the front desk lady was so sweet and check in was very quick. They do offer military discount. Very affordable and rooms exceeded expectations. There is a little breakfast joint across the street that you HAVE to visit for breakfast. Wonderful food and customer service. Highly recommend this hotel

This is a great place to stop for the night. Rooms are very clean, bed very comfy. My room was a non smoking room and had no smoke smell. Room equipped with microwave, small frige, coffeemaker, hair dryer. They supplied me with mini shampoo, lotion and soaps. There was someone in room next door to me but walls were thankfully well insulated. The neighborhood was a little sketchy but had no problems. Breakfast was offered in the morning and consisted of cereal, muffins, toast, hot choc, coffee etc. Nice. I would stay there again.

This is one of the coziest little motels I've ever stayed at and I regret not spending more time here. To start with, this was the lowest priced place to stay in the area which sincerely undermines its value. The lady at the front desk was incredible a d she more than justified the price before I saw the room! She was kind and motherly which made me feel more comfortable with the whole process. Despite this, she was also very professional and got everything taken care of effectively and efficiently.
I usually get pictures of the room, but I was so tired I just dropped my stuff off and passed out on the bed. I woke up a few hours later, got a proper shower (the water ran hot fairly quickly), and snuggled into bed. The cold night was impossible to feel in that cozy bed (though I had warmed it up by sleeping on it earlier).
Breakfast was typical motel faire with orange juice and milk in cartons/jugs in the reception area and prepackaged danishes and cinnamon rolls available to grab and go. For other amenities, there's a pool that was closed (due to it being winter) and they had ample parking both in front and back of the property.
Overall, 5 stars for the pricing, comfortable reception, clean rooms, cozy bed, and ample amenities.

We have been traveling for a couple of weeks and stopped here. This is very clean!! That's my number one priority, beds are comfortable and have nice sheets. Hot breakfast and great coffee!! Parking lot is even clean. Very quiet, will stay again if in the area!! Thank you Green Tree!! Highly recommend!

This is one of the best budget hotels I've stayed in. Rooms were CLEAN and comfortable. Service was prompt and friendly. Beds were comfortable. Everything was in good working order. Would highly recommend.

Very nice motel. Single floor, can park at your door. Ice machine works, so does vending. Right next to highway, but never heard the traffic.
Management is nice, friendly.
Rooms were clean, bed was very comfortable. No CLC, no pool, no lobby coffee right now.

Great Value! Although the room could use some updating, for the price I couldn't ask for more. The parking lot was very well lit, but the dark curtains in the room prevented that light from disturbing my sleep. There are plenty of places to eat in Vernon, and a good assortment of other stores for your last-minute needs.

Fantastic place. Well worth the price and stop. Renovation was done beautifully. Pillows and mattress comparable to the Hamptin Inn or Holiday Inn, for half the cost. No breakfast currently, but the CEFCO around the corner has everything including a Huddle House.
I recommend staying here if you are passing through or just wanting to take a load off.
I left my quilt my mother made and when I called I couldn't finish my sentence and they had it up front for me.

Late at night we arrived and we're greeted with a smile and he quickly got us a room. Comfortable. Clean. Great price. Perfect place to get sleep and get back on the road. Thank you.
