The Garden Cafe

A small town meet & greet type of restaurant. The food was made in restaurant, not bulk bought. The foud was good, what you expect and want from a small town restaurant.
This is a type of place where friends and family gather, share memories and good stories.
The staff was friendly the prices were a bit high, but they are everywhere.
I will return.

On our way to Nashville, we considered our lunch options and opted to stop at The Garden Cafe rather than a fast food alternative. I am so glad we did! There were plenty of options for vegetarians and the meat and sides my husband ordered were delicious. The service was 5 Star! The value and flavor of everything we ordered was top notch. I wish we'd saved room for one of the numerous desserts but there was just so much food, we filled up! Check this place out! It's a gem!

Good hometown cooking for the meals and very friendly and good service. The restaurant is pretty clean and is easy to get a seat.

We had the cheeseburger platters and it was great. The catfish meal is awesome. They do have pretty good specials running each day too.

Feels like home. Great food, great service. I know why my Dad eats there all the time.

New here from Nashville. Only our 2nd time eating here but both times were great.

My wife and I stopped here for breakfast today for the first time. Wow! Everything about the experience was great. A++, would eat here again!

Love this place! Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Good variety of foods on the menu. Portions are generous. Great prices on everything, even better on the daily specials. Food is all homemade and absolutely delicious. Try to save room for dessert. They have a wide selection of sweets, too. Will definitely return soon to The Garden Cafe!

The chocolate gravy over fresh baked biscuits was a stretch for me until I tried it, then wow very tasty. Omelet was perfect with all produce fresh and perfectly cooked. Great service from Riley and the rest of the girls. Glad we drove 10 miles out of our way to come for breakfast.

Great food, friendly staff with southern hospitality,clean environment and love how the dining area is decorated, definitely will be coming back here to eat when we visit relatives near Cookeville

They served 18 old bikers very quickly and kindly - not an easy feat!

We really enjoyed our meal here. It's a nice, family restaurant with perfect portion sizes. When I say perfect, I mean it's the amount a normal person should eat and not feel bloated or the need to take something home. I had a fried tenderloin sandwich that seemed to be home made. Obviously the tater tots weren't, but they were fried perfectly without that old oil taste some places have. My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich with turnip greens, both cooked very well. I hated to turn down the freshly made and still warm naner pudding, but we were both pleasantly full.

We'll be back again and again I'm sure of it and update this as needed.

First restaurant we've tried since we moved here a week ago. It was very good and the staff were very nice. Will definitely come back.

This little place is a slice of Heaven conveniently located right on highway 111. There is daily specials as well as menu items. They offer anything from salads, sandwiches to hpmestyle cooking and a great selection of fine deserts. Plenty of parking and easy to get into for elderly. The portions are not huge enough that most would need a carryout box but I feel the portions are just the right amount and it probably is one of the reasons the prices are very reasonable. You have room for dessert 🍨 as well and don't leave feeling miserable from being too full. The restaurant dining area and restrooms 🚻 are very clean. Lastly I will comment on the wait staff. Those girls are absolutely 💯 percent wonderful 👏. Very attentive, nice clean appearance , very friendly and I feel the smiles 😃 are genuine and not just the fake waitress smile some people put on in places. They all seem so approachable and warming. This place is one of the areas best kept secrets if you have not been there. Oh,,, I forgot to mention they have very accommodating hours. They stay open through evenings unlike most mom/pop diners. Give them a try and maybe I will see you there !
