Dixie III Restaurant

My wife and I had dinner at Dixie III and we enjoyed it. I don't know what the original building was, but it reminded me of an old Reid's House.

We were there kind of early for dinner, so there was no crowd. The service was prompt and the food was excellent. The portions were large. We both ate for around $20.00.

We most definately will return and I hope you try them out too.

Update: Sadly, I have confirmed that Dixie III is closing on September 9, 2021, because the owners are retiring.

I absolutely love this place!! Hot, fresh, southern home cooking. Prices are great and portions are large. I have been going here for as long as I can remember. My parents brought me here as a child. Country style steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, cherry cobbler, and broccoli cauliflower salad are my absolute favorite!!

This place was fantastic! The food tasted great, the price was reasonable, plenty of parking and seating. This place does get busy so the service after the food comes out drops off a bit. I had the white fish special and my wife had the baked chicken. Both were great! The chicken was well flavored and not dry at all. The fish was fantastic! Our side we're also amazing! We both had the baked apples, I also had a salad while she had Crowder peas I think. Highly recommended! Staff was very friendly and courteous. This place is very popular with the locals, but worth any wait you might have.

Just amazing food. Down home country comfort food at a good price with the MOST incredible wait staff in Asheboro. We have our favorite, but even when she (Michelle) hasn't been there, we have NEVER had a bad experience.

Food was good and served hot! Excellent fries and onion rings. Service was exceptional. Stopped for lunch while traveling. First time visit but will definitely be there again the next time we make this trip. Great food at an excellent value!

This is my favorite place to eat! The place always has a lot of business during meal times so others seem to agree. It's not fancy on appearance but the food is absolutely delicious! Been going here for over 15 years and never had an off meal. The service is always great too. If you want a good, country cooked meal then this is the place!

This place has amazing seafood! I have just moved to NC and have been searching for a good seafood place. It has been disappointing until my boyfriend and I drove past Dixie III and, on a wing, decided to try it. The seafood platter is HUGE and has yummy extras that aren’t mentioned on the menu. The tarter sauce taste a little strange though. Most seafood is $10 give or take $2. Excellent service. Hulk smashes the overpriced seafood on the coast.

We went to this restaurant based on the reviews and after a long visit to the Zoo today! This is the best food we have had in some time! The staff was very friendly and our wait time was not long at all! The price for the food was very good! It’s sad that we live 3 hours away and I wish we had a place as awesome as near us!

This place is great. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and great food. We had 4 people in our group - 2 burgers, 1 cheeseburger, and 1 chicken salad sandwich. All were fantastic. OK, cut to the chase - if you go for only one reason, make it the onion rings. You get a lot for a single order. They are not over cooked, not greasy and the have a light breading that does not weigh you down. Go there, mention my name and they will say, "Who"??

Dixie has the best food anywhere and at prices so affordable i don't know how they do it. We both had a meat and three vegetables, plus we shared an additional vegetable, two teas, and bread. $23.01

I had the fried chicken (white meat) with green beans, coleslaw, pickled beets and corn bread. Absolutely fantastic and it only cost $7.50. Authentic home cooked meal in a charming diner. They aren't open for breakfast which is a shame.

Hard to find this genre. Home style cooking, SOUTHERN style. There's a good reason this place has flourished through good, bad economy. I really respect that they close on weekends for family. The Davidson's have done a lot to give back to the community. Keep putting GOD and Family first and God bless.

We absolutely loved this place! The waitress was so funny and pleasant. She definitely made our dining experience so enjoyable. The food was awesome!!! I highly recommend this restaurant.

They Fry Flounder In Corn Meal, The Way It Should Be Done But Hard To Find. The Fresh Cucumber and Onion Salad, Potato Salad & Peach Cobbler Made For A Delicious Plate! Wish I Had Taken A Picture. If You're Are Tired Or Don't Like Noise & Hustle Bustle Then Call Ahead And Go To The Take Out Window. Reasonable Prices, A Great & Dependable Mon-Fri Gem!

We stopped here on our way home from the zoo. We saw it had good reviews and gave it a try. Excellent food at great prices. The inside was dated but was clean. Next time we go back to the zoo, this will be our go-to place to eat dinner.

Love it. Classic menu I don't eat a lot of catfish but their's deep fried is great (corn meal batter- best texture ever) Some of the best BBQ sauce around (Classic Western Carolina Style). Solid southern sides- turnip greens, fried squash, fried okra, and the best hushpuppies I've ever had. Lovely staff that treats you just like family. don't let the price fool you, just get in there

Good home cooking the oysters are the only seafood I really like and they are awesome the other fish you may like but there specials and vegetables are very good and the service is fast and friendly give them a shot I now eat there a few times a week

Best country cookin place in Asheboro or in the area period -- This place has been in operation for decades and literally takes me back to my MEMAW'S home cooking -- Wide range of food on menu -- the corn. Read and country style steak melt in your mouth -- side such as green beans cabbage Cole slaw pintos etc... round it out

The best family oriented down home country cooking in Asheboro! Staff is friendly and fast. If you like fried okra then you will live theirs. It's like fresh fried okra you would make at home!!

I’ve always had friendly service in a timely manner. The food was good the prices were good. An outstanding restaurant.I think the tomato soup is the best.
