Grits Home Cookin’

Shout out the good folks at Grits! Rolled in there with a group of 13 Cub Scouts after a rainy camp out. They were very accommodating in taking care of us, moving tables / seats around and such. Food was very good. I ordered the Shipwreck. Would recommend for down home cookin’ and small town hospitality.

Excellent local place. Not fancy like other places in Waxhaw. We had a delicious breakfast. Pancakes were the fluffiest and lightest we have ever had. The waitress, Ashley treats everyone like family. She is incredibly friendly and sweet. Prices are fantastic. We can’t wait to go back!!!

Very small town feel, comfortable and welcoming and the food was delicious! Can't quite put my finger on what made it so delicious so I'll just say southern charm has its unique flavor ☺

This little gem is tucked away but it's definitely worth the drive. The food is wonderful in the services over the top.

Goodness gracious, everything I've had here has been phenomenal. Today I had the patty melt with a side of potato salad and they were both amazing. I did not have any leftovers, if that says anything. My 9-year-old had the grilled cheese and they were nice enough to give him peaches as a side, even though it wasn't on their menu as a side. He loved everything as well! The ladies working here are so nice and very sweet and they checked on us multiple times to see if we needed anything. It was nice that we were able to sit outside and eat. Grits is such a cute place to eat some delicious southern food! We will definitely be back soon.😊

First time eating here! Food DID Not disappoint! That cheeseburger all the way with slaw and chili puts Wendy’s Carolina classic to shame! My kids really enjoyed the delicious chicken tenders not to mention the fries were completely on point! Will definitely definitely be back regularly

Superb cooking. The best hamburger steak. Okra and green beans cooked like grandma's. The country fried steak was enormous and the peas and snaps also brought back grandma's home cooking. Dessert and drink, too. 10 per person.. great tasting food and a grat value too. Loved it!

Awesome restaurant sitting on the edge of the end of the world

Food is great, eat here you will not be disappointed. Located in the middle of nowhere, can claim without competition they are the best food around lol. Really though, awesome place. Check it out.

You walk in and look at a chalkboard for your menu. Usually I become a little skeptical of places like this but my fears were allayed by the happy waitresses waiting to accommodate me on any order. Everybody seems to know each other giving it that happy family feel. The food is always well done and if there is any problem they will fix it free of charge. I cannot compliment their great food and service enough!

I've been wanting to try Grits for quite some time and finally stopped by and got breakfast on my to work. So glad I did! The best breakfast I've had in the area! The grits were so creamy, perfect consistency and the eggs-wow! Fluffy and perfectly seasoned. The sweet gal who waited on me was so pleasant and kind which I sure appreciate. I'll be back for sure. I highly recommend them for breakfast (I'll try lunch soon and review after 😁) Can't beat the prices either, $4.26 for a FULL breakfast! 👍👍

OK, so passing through the middle of no where at lunch time, and see a sign that said GRITS! Always catches my attention. I love true country diners and this place exemplifies that. Small, but neat, clean and great food. I only wish I had one of these near my home. Courteous, Southern service with a smile.

This is a great little local restaurant - the food is good, prices really reasonable, and the service was friendly and efficient. My son in-law wanted country fried steak and they told him it would be about 10 mins and that's about how long it took - had my 4 grandchildren with me (ages 3 -10) and they were all happy with their food and full when we left! I can handle Styrofoam plates but not crazy about plastic silverware and the dinning area is small but that is the only minor complaints - we use to live in Monroe but my daughter just bought a house about 3 miles away and it is now the favorite breakfast place!

fantastic spot! The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food is extremely reasonably priced especially for the quality. I fully endorse their awesome pancakes.

Small local business. Excellent food made to order. Our server was so sweet! Paper plates and plastic utensils don't take away from this hidden gem! Definitely our new spot.

Great little restaurant with Southern style home cooking. My favorite is their Mushroom Swiss burger, you won't be disappointed. Very impressed with the quality of service!
