Great hike. Took orange trail for about 2.5 miles from parking lot of Bryum Hill. Pretty level. Enjoyed the river views and the beauty if the area. If your first one the trail be prepared for lots of beautiful spider webs with their owners. Suggest taking a walking stick to help avoid web and spiders in your face. We did not see any slithering friends but definitely saw tons of places that would make perfect homes for them.

We did cross a tributary of the Haw River at one point but the water was very low so we stayed dry. Advise crossing at all of there is a heavy rate of flow as it's clearly a swift moving spot when water is high. We did see some frogs and a turtle!

Best place to take a hike and hangout in the river. I can even let me dogs run free because it is not too regulated

Beautiful trail! A little rugged but has very pretty views of the river and isnt crowded at all. Will definitely come again

This is an easy trail with places to stop along the way to enjoy the river and play in the water. It hasn't been too busy which has been nice.
