Babylon laundromat - washateria

The published description of this washateria states that it "strives to offer a clean environment with well maintained equipment." Well, I can vouch for that. I've never worried about dropping my clean wet (or dry) clothes on the floor while transferring them to any of the machines – all of which were well maintained and frequently updated. The place is immaculate, the staff people are positively adorable, the bright and cheery facility is in a wonderful neighborhood, and the owner allowed my well-behaved dogs to accompany me inside while I worked at my laptop and got my chores done. A true home-away-from-home for me, Babylon will remain a high point of my unexpected and sometimes lonely stay in New Orleans through much of 2021.

This is the average un-staffed laundromat. Everything seems to work fine. It's a little pricey, $4.50/single load, $6/double, and up to $11/yuge. There is a ATM that gives $10, and a quarter dispenser, and the double load and larger machines will take cards or quarters, the single load washers and the dryers are only quarter operated.

Went in for a quick bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and portion sizes. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Entree and had enough for two meals. The food was seasoned perfectly and the taste was amazing. I will definitely be returning!

It's spacious and clean. There's a change machine (2), soap machine. Plenty of washers and dryers. Restrooms 🚻 too. There's a restaurant next door as well as others nearby. Also a Starbucks and a great bakery. Lovely neighborhood. We got coffee and ordered to go next door.

Best laundromat I've found in a long time! The machines actually clean your clothes! The store was spotless as was the bathroom. It is a little expensive, $4.50 for a small load, but no complaints!

Take some small bills, they couldn't even break a $10....

Super clean. Exceptional service. Consistently tasty and large portions! Falafel and gyros sandwiches easily split between 2 people. Lentil soup wonderful. Hot mint tea more like true middle,eastern tea

This is a little place to dine that is owned by a small family. The food is Mediterranean food. The shuarma plate is the best I have had in the city. The service is great and the environment is very friendly. If you looking for good Arabic food then this is a great place to go.

Food was incredible from beginning to end. The fresh baked bread and pitas were enough to fill me up. The beef shawarma was tender, juicy and flavorful. The om ali was fantastic. Our waitress Laura was fabulous and was never M.I.A. She was there with what we needed and wanted . Will return with friends 😄

As a middle eastern, I had Mediterranean food in so many places around the world. And I find that Babylon Cafe is the best place I've even been to. I loved their home-made bread, Baba ghanoush and for desert, their Om Ali and Turkish coffee. like their food, their service is exceptionally great.

Clean laundromat in a cute neighborhood. I recommend going here over other laundromats in different neighborhoods, even if it means going out of your way.

Here's what to expect based on my experience:

I used a front loading high efficiency washer. The cycle costs 4 dollars, 4.50 for super cycle. FYI Super cycle is for things like jeans, towels, heavy blankets. It's coin operated. They have a change machine that converts 1s,5s,10s, (probably 20s, cant remember for sure) into quarters. There is no ATM to my knowledge. For the dryer, it was 1 quarter for 4 minutes. Large and front loading. You can set the temperature for high, medium, or delicate. 30 minutes for a heavy blanket was ample time. Dont overload your clothes for the washer or dryer, and you'll be fine.

There is a wifi network, but I'm not sure if it's available to customers. Ask the attendant. She's on top of things. There is a coke machine there for 1.50 that accepts credit card. The bathroom is clean and is shared with the restaurant next door. They also sell single serving detergent through a coin operated machine. There's folding tables for your clothes as well. Wheeled transfer baskets too. There's some seating available, inside mostly and a few chairs outside. It was very humid when I entered, but the AC eventually kicked on and it became comfortable.

I had a blanket that was too big for my washer at home. I'm glad I went here.

I've been washing my stuff here going on two years. They offer great service, very clean equipment, and affordable. Matt the manager will even do your laundry if you need to save time. 5 stars

Owener stayed late to make sure are clothes got dry while me and my brother was at a hospital very much appreciated. Also returned money that I left in my pocket. Thanks abunch

Amazingly fresh food. I had the gyro salad and it was enough for 2 people. Definitely recommend. Great service too.

Clean! Friendly caretaker, next to Catalinos a great new South American eaterie!! Great healthy food. Dump your clothes in a washer and grabbed lunch!

Washer went out of order and locked my laundry in. I messaged the owner via the message option on google and he was there to fix it within 5 minutes. Great customer service. Props to the owner

Clean, pleasent wait staff, type of food on the menu was really good for my first time, good moderate prices.

Clean facility with new machines. A couple of tables so you can eat while your clothes are washing. No tv is a big plus.
