Phenomenal shop to enjoy some delicious Cuban food. It was constantly busy but the service was impeccable, they made you feel at home and the food was amazing. The prices are beyond fair and I'll definitely be back.

True staple and gem in Tampa for awesome Cuban sandwiches and bread! The Obama Cuban is a must have with every visit. Although there’s usually a wait and it can be chaotic, the staff is very kind and ensures a good dining experience!

Comfortable atmosphere with some vintage touches - the pictures tell a lot of things! The cuban sandwich was the best sandwich I ever had, the bread was phenomenal... And the coffee was very good. You must not leave without having one of their soup offerings! Yet their price stayed almost the same as before the great inflation..

Food was absolutely delicious, our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and had pretty nails lol.

You never know when you’re gonna run into while you’re there. We talked to a customer named “Mingo” who was funny and such a pleasure!!!

Authentic delicious Cuban food. The service, although wonderful and attentive gets 4.9 stars only because everytime I go there the place is so busy. The prices are great for the amount of good food you receive. I never leave there hungry or unsatisfied.

West Tampa Sandwich Shop is a staple in my life. When I want a Cuban I go here. No place in Tampa compares to their Cubans and trust me I’ve tried! The “Obama” (honey) Cuban is what I get most of the time, but I’ve honestly never had a dish here I don’t like. Going here they treat you like family just seat yourself, order your food and enjoy 🙂 food come out super fast you won’t be waiting long

Authentic as it gets. I’m from Miami and some of the places there cannot compare to this. The workers work very hard. I ordered as much as possible to give a thorough review. The sandwiches are a must have. Be prepared to have your braces brackets break on the crunchy Cubans. I broke mine lol. It was worth it. The rice and plantains were perfect. I even ate them the next day and they tasted even better than before. The bacon and egg sandwich was a must have. 5 stars for being a real small business and inspiring me.

My friend recommended me to try the Cuban sandwich here. I got here early morning 7am and there were few people sitting in the restaurant. You could see the staff busy working. The cashier was friendly and I ordered Cuban sandwiches and espressos for myself and friends to go. My friends and I enjoy both the sandwiches and the espressos.

Probably the best Cuban sandwich shop in the entire state.

I came 7am Friday morning, an hour after they open, to find a loud and chaotic scene. Workers running around seemingly trying to catch up but there were few customers. Kids getting sent off to school, a frantic pace and customers waiting around trying to be noticed. No cheery dispositions at this hour. Likely a late start to the day.

The Friday morning gang of brothers that meet and congregate were in full swing talking about the latest events and tales of great food recently eaten. I had my bacon sandwich and started my day after a brief delay.

I love it when product meets expectations. This shop has an excellent Cuban Sandwich, for another treat ask for the Media Noche, a smaller version of the cuban on a soft semi-sweet egg bread. Either can be ordered with lettuce and tomato.

WTSS serves breakfast and breakfast sandwiches. There is a long and tasty list of sandwiches. There are also some lunch items like black beans and rice. They close early, 3pm and will be closed for the next week (March 27 - April 3) for vacation. They are usually very busy but food came quick, eat in or take it with you. Highly recommend.

So I'm homeless and the wonderful people the work at this fine astablishment have been feeding me for about 3 years now. The whole place is filled with love and amazing food!!! Why wouldn't you want to experience this wonderful heartwarming restaurant for your self? They have helped me tremendously. And always do it with love and care. You don't have a good reason not to go and enjoy the food and coffee and give those wonderful human beings great tips and great reviews because of the greatness they spread to others less fortunate

Fantastic little West Tampa gem with a great Cuban breakfast sandwich. Get the egg, bacon and swiss version. By the way, the Coco Rico soda is a very refreshing choice.

Make the breakfast sandwich over the top by ordering the large ($1.50 more at the time of this review) and combine the egg and bacon together from the two halves and top it with the bread that has the melted swiss. If you're still hungry you'll have two pieces of buttered Cuban bread.

Other sandwiches are also on the menu; whatever you order make sure it's pressed.

The best Cuban around. Miami has nothing on West Tampa Sandwich shop for sure. As a matter-of-fact their breakfast is excellent too.

see pictures to get the vibe of the location. great customer service. portion of food v. price is really good. parking was easy but I am not sure where others park when designated spots are full. lots of pictures to look at inside while you wait for the quick service. a must go if you do not want to spend a lot for breakfast.

We always enjoy our trip here and recommend it to everyone who is hungry for a Cuban and/or delicious food! We greatly appreciate the reasonable prices, too. Great food + delicious food + reasonable prices = Happy Customers!!!

Best Cuban Sandwich in Tampa hands down. Best atmosphere and staff too, every time you go there you'll be treated like family. Love this place.

Unbelievably simple but tasty Cuban sandwiches. The coffee is just as good. Atmosphere is authentic diner style. The women who make the sandwiches work so hard. Call ahead to get your sandwich for take out, but if you dine in service time is still decent. Usually a line to get sat or order out but we'll worth the wait.

It's a hole in the wall but I hear it's one of Tampa's old restaurant. Portions are great and the egg and cheese sandwich was delicious. Parking may be a little difficult, but I care about the food. Enjoy

Great piece of West Tampa history! It's easy to miss it if you're not looking for it. Parking is at a premium and if you get a spot at the restaurant you need to go play the lottery! But, not too worry because there's a vacant lot 1 block South of the sandwich shop that they have as overflow parking. The walk is refreshing and helps to walk off that full feeling.

This place has everything you want in a Mom & pop local meeting spot. The locals pile in to meet daily for a cup of delicious cafe con leche and Cuban toast for dipping in the coffee. At first glance you will probably have to search to find a table in this tight, but comfortable little sandwich shop. But, don't be intimidated, find your seat and prepare to be delighted.

Their breakfast special, "The West Tampa Breakfast", is a filling bargain. Comes with eggs (I don't remember how many eggs they claim to give you, but I had to have had at least 3 scrambled eggs on my plate!) any way you like them, choice of meat between ham, bacon or links, Cuban toast, 2 pancakes, cup of grits and a cafe con leche. They serve their cafe con leche old school by bringing you a cup of steamed milk along with a cup of the espresso coffee and you mix together and add sugar to your liking.

Our server is always smiling and never stops running from the kitchen to the dining area serving all kinds of delicious Latin fare. The Cuban sandwich is the favorite among the patrons, but they have a huge menu varying from breakfast items to Cuban specialties.

This place definitely focuses on getting you fed and quickly I might add. Taking out time we are usually in and out within 45 mins. We never feel rushed to leave as many, like myself, enjoy savoring the delicious cafe con leche after a meal.

Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. It will not disappoint!
