Modern Dental: Dr. Ronald F Jacob DMD

In my own personal opinion Dr Jacob's is probably the best dentist in Palm Coast. You know what you're getting into before any works is being done. The staff are very open an honest. As a denture wearer. They made me the best set of teeth I've ever had. I can eat apples, corn on the cob. Something I haven't been able to do in over fifteen years of wearing dentures..

My first experience with this dental facility was awesome! I've not ever had such detailed x-rays taken, and both the assistant and doctor were very informative and took time to explain what was going on in my mouth. They are also not quick to just fill cavities, as I have had experience in the past, if it's not really needed. I have some issues with a waiting period for my insurance to fully kick in, and they were very helpful with information and preventative care with some issues that could become severe before insurance would cover it. Thanks so much, guys!

A professional office. Quality service. No nonsense, and they tell it like it is. No pressure to have additional services performed. And excellent consultation for the first visit. They also got me in for a cleaning along with the x-rays and photos. I commend the dental hygienist, who cleaned my teeth. The best cleaning I’ve probably ever had.

The office staff is very nice, accommodating and helpful. Dr. Jacob and his Dental staff really work very well together to make me feel comfortable and have a positive experience. I have had so many great experiences at this dental office! Doctor Jacob and the whole staff are exceptional! A friend recommended them to me when I moved to this area and I am so grateful that she did!

I was able to obtain 2 new patient appointments for my 9 & 12 yr old within 2 weeks. Both appointments were easy to complete online paperwork and upload insurance cards, made check-in quick & paper free! Our hygienist was personable, understanding & accommodating. She worked so well with Dr.Jacobs together they explained and visually showed what they found, provided treatment plan in steps and we were scheduled for routine visit by the time we made it to check out. Dr.Jacobs was relatable, educational to both ages & developed long term treatment goals. Three separate visits and I can say each time this team is well oiled and we are very impressed & thankful!

I could not be more pleased with my experience with this dental group. Every step of my experience was positive from the people at the front desk to the dentist and his assistant. They were kind, they listened, they were gentle. I have found my dental group.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Dr. Jacob and his staff! Everyone is so KIND, and attentive! I haven't been to a dentist for TWO YEARS, until going to Dr. Jacob this week - because I'm TERRIFIED of dentists! Arlene cleaned my teeth today. She did an EXCELLENT job, and was so gentle, but thorough.

We were looking for a new dentist and found Modern Dental because they take our insurance. We got lucky! The office is great! From the receptionist, to the hygienist, to the the dentist, everyone was friendly, helpful, professional, and made us feel comfortable. The office is well equipped and clean. Staff is very nice, so patient, & gentle. I have TMJ & Fibromyalgia. It’s difficult to do dental work, pain and anxiety filled usually. Not here. Everyone is great!

After having an emergency to repair a tooth that I cracked, I was welcomed at the office by the staff. Dr Jacob did a wonderful job and I hope to see him again for the Future Care of my teeth. Thank you staff and thank you Dr Jacobs.

(which was not my experience in other dental offices in Palm Coast). Let’s not forget to mention I had the BEST cleaning ever from Arlene. She was amazing. From the moment I entered the facility and was greeted cheerfully by the front desk, to the state of the art X-rays by Arlene and the thorough cleaning by hygienist Gigi, I experienced respect and professionalism. Dr. Jacob examined my teeth and mouth along with the X-rays and spent time explaining his findings. If a visit to the dentist could come close to being a pleasure, this was it.

I have now been to the office three times and have referred a few friends. The office is clean and the staff is friendly. Dr. Jacobs is kind and honest, and great to work with.

This review is as a new patient in this office, so I am reviewing based off of a singular experience.

I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment to fill out new patient paperwork that was ready for my arrival (which scored points for being well organized). After a painless check-in, I was taken back to the exam room which was again well prepped and clean, not to mention "modern" as the business name implies. The only "old" technology that remains in this office is the age-old swing-arm bitewing x-ray machine. 14 snaps later and I could clearly see the digital images of my teeth. I was then taken to what appeared to be an advanced panoramic x-ray which was efficient and once again communicated the digital image to the exam room. Those two tests I have experienced previously, but this office also takes digital photographs of the bite surfaces of each tooth (with a little camera that looks like a wand. The value of this is that the staff and dentist can show the patient what they see ... it was fascinating and ingenious. I really felt like this office and the staff deployed technology and conversation to truly educate about the proposed treatment plan rather than just expect you to take them at their word. I found it to really help me develop an objective trust early on in the process of being a new patient.

The Dr. Jacob was kind, direct and good at offering options to the treatment plan. While his physical examination of my teeth was mere minutes, I do feel that I had a thorough assessment of the current state of my dental health.

The assistant Uri also deserves special mention here. She was excellent, efficient, kind and funny. She kept a great pace which is probably why my appointment was actually ON TIME. Speaking of timeliness, while I was waiting for the hygienist to have my teeth cleaned, I could overhear the front desk staff calling patients with later appointments letting them know that the office was running AHEAD of schedule and offering to take patients sooner. When was the last time you heard of an efficient medical practice of any kind, I ask you? Could I have found a needle in the haystack?

The hygienist, Lisa (I think I recall that correctly) was also a positive contributor to the overall experience. She took a bit more to warm up, but she was a good educator. Of all parts of the office I felt this area was the most stressed. I have heard that there is a shortage of dental hygienists in Palm Coast, so I know they are all working hard to meet the needs of the patients in the community, so I will say thank you for the efforts and I hope you get some relief or at least a little rest and relaxation to recharge a bit.

I wanted a new dental practice, and I think I've found it. Modern Dental, you did well!

I went as a new patient because my husband and I were going to Greenberg and we disliked the hygienist, she cleaned our teeth in 5 min. So Dr Jacob was recommended by Medicare Advantage. We liked the staff, and was very happy with Dr Jacob. He explained everything, gave us options for treatments, and gave us a written proposal so we could figure out timing since Medicare only pays $1,500 per year. We really enjoyed the whole experience.

Arlene is a very experienced and
knowledgeable technician.
She explains everything before proceeding and does a very professional job, as well as being cheerful and friendly. Dr Jacob has the same attributes. It is easy to see that these folks really care about their patients. The girls at the front desk are also always cheerful and assist in any way possible with insurance and billing issues. I highly recommend this dental practice to anyone...I have had nothing but positive experiences here.
