Laba Dry Cleaners

tl;dr: Laba is a gamble- a sure bet!

Recently I was in town for my sister's wedding and needed dry cleaning done on a tight schedule--done in one day. I brought a Suede suit jacket I had inherited from a man who had the suit made in the seventies here and had it dry cleaned on a Thursday. Laba is the only place in town with facilities on site the other folk outsource for instance to Jacksonville. For the others a Thursday drop off meant a Monday pick up. For Laba I came back after 3:30.

Because of the copious negative reviews I was hesitant, but I decided to gamble. I went in with my kids and the jacket. The lady running the front was the only person I encountered. She was friendly and spoke unaccented English. Not sure what all the fuss is about from the other reviewers. I dropped off around 9:45 am and came back in the afternoon. They charged 8 dollars and change and made my jacket look like a whole new garment. I was very pleased and showed up to my sister's wedding looking like a good brother and not a tramp from the railroads.

I recommend Laba for your dry cleaning needs in the area especially if you don't want to wait over the weekend for your cleaning.

I've been using them since 2009 when I moved here. Never have I had ANY issues with anything I've brought them (dry cleaning, ironing, alterations, etc) it specifies cash only right on the window. I mean, you are paying for a service that you are either unwilling or cannot do for yourself, so the bad reviews talking about them bringing stuff back to fix alterations that were already done, leads me to believe that they did not explain correctly and now want to nitpick every little thing. There are a lot of entitled people in this town.

I do business with them every week and have not once had a single problem. The other bad reviewers on here don't know what they're talking about.

English is not their first language, but if you have an ounce of patience you're guaranteed to get the best service for a great price.

Very competent and efficient business. I believe the other 1 star reviews are for other reasons that do not have to do with the business. There are two sides to every story, I reccomend you see their service firsthand before you knock Laba Dry Cleaners.

Biggest POS place ever! I hope they read some of these online reviews for them. Bad attitudes, bad business practices, and a lot of unhappy customers. Avoid at all costs..

Why is 0 stars not an option? Disgusting personalities, inconvenience of time and somewhat legal robbery. My parents requested expedited dry cleaning on a suit for a service tomorrow and I assume they let a toddler do it. The suit was literally wrinkled.. My parents were frustrated but left because of time. They called in hopes of speaking with a manager for a refund or at the very least to prevent from happening in the future. On the call they reached some incompetent, unapologetic, insulting idiot. My mom ended the call only to get a text from a different number calling her out of her name. The number was blocked and clearly we won’t be going back. With that management, operations and a 2 star review I doubt the business will be open much longer. Hopefully it closes sooner than later. Good riddance!

Edit: Because I'm somehow not able to respond to your statement. Liars? Watch your tone, you're suppose to be a professional remember. Also if someone orders a rush order that just means they don't have time to argue with you about a wrinkled suit that you were not able to fix. The call was to contact a manager or owner to rectify it while they were on their way to an event. And don't be too cocky.. you're a 2 star rating. It won't be long.

I HAVE NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE HAVE EXPERIENCED SUCH DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR FROM A BUSINESS OWNER!!! If I can leave no stars I would! That man working there is the rudest pos I have ever encountered. My mother went in here to check on her dress that she originally paid $130 for. She went in for a second time because she needed something redone on the dress because it has not met her expectations. She said the woman that did the alterations has made it worse than it originally was so she wanted her to take a look at it again. Mind you she already paid for the service and left a tip as well! She goes in today to check on it and the Russian man at the front desk appearing to be in his 30's or 40's who is the owner son turned her away and yelled at her to take her dress or he will throw it in the trash. Cursing at her and telling her there are cameras and to get out. She comes home crying so I demand to go back to ask him why he was so rude to my mother! I barely got any words out and he says "oh another one" and walks away and yells to "get out! Get out or I'll be calling the cops". As I walked out, my mother approaches and the man shuts and locks the door in our faces and calls my mother a p**sy in Russian. I CAN NOT believe this business is still standing especially after taking a look at other reviews. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU'RE LOOKING TO GET YOUR CLOTHES RUINED AND TO GET CURSED AT BY THAT POS HUMAN!!!! THESE PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GIVE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IF THEIR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!!!!!

Absolutely horrible. The ladies are fantastic but the psycho case loser in the back needs mental health. Screaming, cursing and condescending for absolutely no reason. Asked a simple question that required a simple answer. Instead you get berated. Even the lady up front apologized for his behavior. Stay far away from this place. It’s actually dangerous.

Had three dresses altered. Specific instructions given at time were 41 inches for all dresses in length when finished.
All three were 41 inches when I measured them at home.
The woman who was there actually wrote that on slip.
On top of that charged $20 a dress for a simple cut and hem job. No overlocking on hem. Very shoddy. Plenty of other alteration places to do business with.
Do not recommend this place at all. Pretty disgusting to charge for such bead work. They must think we all don’t know anything about sewing. That’s taking advantage of people for shoddy work

If could give zero stars I would!!! Have been customers for years, dropped of 2 garments (one had alterations, the other just cleaned) on one day and 1 garment (cleaned) on another day. This cleaner has a cash only policy. I picked up the single garment I dropped off to be cleaned and I also wanted to pick up the garment that I had alterations on; that was dropped off with one that was cleaned. I was advised I could NOT take the garment that had alterations but had to take BOTH garments that day, even though each garment was individually itemized on the receipt, I was advised that I could NOT pick up just one garment. I advised the clerk that I had that amount of cash and because this is a CASH ONLY business, I would have to go get more cash to pick up the other and I had a time crunch. The clerk called the owner 'Mike' who advised her I could not pick up the garment by itself. The next day I went in to pick up both garments and Mike the owner was there, he was RUDE RUDE RUDE when questioned on this policy and told us not to come back again.... no worries buddy.... YOU ARE THE WORST DRY CLEANER IN PALM COAST WITH ABSOLUTELY ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!

Really wish I had read the reviews prior to coming here. I needed a zipper fixed on an outfit that I really Needed for an event that I was going to out of the country. I expressed the importance of needing the outfit when I dropped it off. They did have the outfit Done by the next day however they neglected to tell me that they took cash only. They close at 5pm however When I arrived they appeared to be close prior to 5 o'clock. I knocked on the door and finally a gentleman arrived. At no time with my interactions with them did they tell me about the cash only policy. The gentleman directed me to an ATM in the same plaza. When I came back with the cash he was gone. My calls went unanswered. And in fact I don't feel the number is even a real number. I was never able to get my outfit And there was nothing I could do about it. Full disclosure when I came back and looked in the window I saw "Cash Only" taped on the counter but no sign. Just felt it was extremely bad customer service to close down Knowing I was coming back with the cash he requested and I was going to give a tip.

After paying $165 to clean a few coats and suits and a tie and a shirt and alter about 5 suit jackets, it was realized nothing was done properly. The coats still had a smell. The alterations were not done. It wasn't until we went back to calmly explain about what we wanted to have done that the owners raised their voice and became highly upset and said they are not doing anymore. Then said talk to the TV since they have cameras in there. No respect for a customer at all. They never touched the cloths.

This is terrible place!!!! The owner's son who owns this business was the rudest person I have ever met. He cursed and yelled at me in Russian because I wanted to know when his mother could take at look at my dress again to make some changes to the alterations. I could not believe the language he used and the service that I recieved. They are not profesional and when you understand the Russian language you would understand how vile these words are. Do not ever go here!!! Make these people go out of business!!

I would actually give this place a score of minus 10 if possible. I called numerous businesses to locate a dry cleaning facility with the ability to DRY CLEAN a man's sportcoat within 1 day; this was the only place that indicated they had the ability to dry clean a garment within 1 day. When I arrived to pick up the garment, I was asked to pay then the male person behind the counter (owner?) pulled the garment & when I asked if I could check it out prior to him putting the plastic over it & he started yelling at me that he was too busy & that if I wanted to check the item I could do so after he bagged it; because he did me a favor (don't know what the favor was since I paid for a service I never received). When I did check the garment it was obvious that it hadn't been dry cleaned at all but instead was merely pressed & bagged. The jacket smelled of body odor which was why I was having it cleaned. When I said that it hadn't been appropriately cleaned the male started screaming for me to leave the store & then a female came from the back of store also screaming. These are crooks & customer service & honesty is apparently something they lack. STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU NOT USE THIS BUSINESS.

Hi. We drop off my soon to be wife wedding dress get it back 2 weeks later with more stains on it and these. Guys says we took off 20.o.o off Bill because of the stains this guy is a rip off I would never send anyone there ever this place didn't even wash the dress so I just have him 80.dallors for nothing worst service I have ever got
