Blackstrap BBQ

Awesome first experience at Blackstrap. Sat at the bar and was greeted by a super friendly staff. Good atmosphere and energy for a beer and some food.

My brisket was a little dry so looking forward to trying it again before ruling it out. Their special, poutine, was actually amazing. Can confirm as a Canadian.

I have travelled all across America and have visited many BBQ restaurants, this is by far my favorite. Who knew that Boston has sensational BBQ? The food was just sensational, and was only outdone by the service. Melissa waited on us, and she was an absolute delight, making sure that all of our needs were taken care of. The restaurant was spotlessly clean. The owner was working while we were there and he came over and chatted. He’s charismatic and enthusiastic, and his passion for food is clear to see when you look around the restaurant. Don’t think twice about visiting this lovely place!

This BBQ gem will have your mouthwatering the moment you walk in and will make you want to take some take out even after you’re done. With its Rustic all American vibe coupled with amazing and friendly staff, this place is perfect any night of the week. The wings are spot on EVERY time and the specials are delectable. I had the spicy chicken Parmesan sandwich which I could not put down!
P.S. if you’re a cornbread lover like me, you’ll be well surprised at how moist theirs is

Best BBQ in the greater Boston area. Love the atmosphere- the jukebox is on point every time I go. Service is great, everyone is friendly. Oh and best BBQ ever.

Best BBQ in town! (And probably the surrounding towns) my wife and I agree that the wings which are smoked and then fried I belive are the best wings world wide. They always have specials and they are always good. I don't believe I've had anything I haven't enjoyed. Food is always hot and quickly leaves the kitchen. Good beers, good cocktails and very healthy pours. Friendly staff and live music if you are into that. I have only one criticism for the place and that's that they need a rail for your feet at the bar. Other than that it's all around a great place to eat and drink. ( I do not give out 5 stars all around unless they really deserve it)

If you like barbecue this is the place to go! I’ve been coming here once a month for several months now and plan on doing the same in the future. I always have the onion rings and a few pints of the local craft IPA while grabbing some food to go for my wife. She loves everything on the menu but her favorite by far is the crispy pork, ginger scallion lo mein. They also have a full bar for mixed drinks. There’s plenty of street parking as well as a small municipal parking area right across the street. I’ve never had a problem finding parking. Just a reminder that they only accept cash.

HIDDEN BBQ GEM!!! Incredible food and affordable prices. We ordered the bbq plates each as you can choose one to three meats, two sides, and a cornbread. I had corn and bacon salad, mashed potatoes, shredded bbq chicken, chilli, and burnt ends of brisket. I’ve also tried creamy corn, ribs, and the Texas brisket. Everything was cooked to perfection. To be honest one of the best restaurants I’ve been in the Boston area. Worth the drive if you’re staying closer to the city.

Great atmosphere, extremely friendly and fast staff, awesome food options. They also had really good live-music. You should definitely give this a try.

It's easily my favorite BBQ restaurant I have had the pleasure of experiencing and i have been to a lot of BBQ spots in these United States. I have been going here since it was a small take out spot and they never disapoint. Service is always excellent, food is always top notch and cocktails are superior. After all these years I have never had a bad experience. I highly recommend it

Today my friend and I went for a late lunch at the Blackstrap. It was a first time I have to tell you it was wonderful, waitress, and bartender. Stephanie was outstanding. She made the best margaritas I have ever had and I’ve had them in many places. Terrific. Also, the food was excellent. My favorite was the cauliflower appetizer. It was outstanding, simply delicious the cornbread as well we had the Rianda. What did we have chili which was very good the baked macaroni side and then after that we ended a meal with a with an espresso martini. We had a wonderful afternoon, especially for two older women and I’m sure we will be back soon will recommend it highly

Small town BBQ in the old center of Winthrop, was delicious, had a great atmosphere great to see them expanding in this current era. It seems like a little hole-in-the-wall at first BUT that's how you know it's going to be good. 👍

Stopped in on a late Sunday morning to find a welcoming place with a great menu and bonus live music. Amazing espresso Martini's, witnessed a colorful mimosas flight poured with love for patrons. Only giving 4 stars for the food because we shared a sandwich plate- great portions and flavors. The coleslaw was runny but edible. Will be delighted to try again when in the area.

I'm new to the area but went to this place off of a recommendation from a friend in Virginia. He wasn't wrong. The food here is phenomenal and the bar has a great atmosphere. I highly recommend the catering for any events. They are very easy to work with and cater any sized event. They were able to put together food for a party of 12 the day of with only 4 hours notice! All the food was prepared perfectly to the point that my 4 year old ate the most green beans I've ever seen in one sitting. I will continue to go here and recommend this place highly to anyone.

The memphis dry rub was amazing-- the right amount of seasoning that didn't even need a sauce to accompany it. With that said, we did try several sauces with the brisket and our favorite was the sweet bbq although the Carolina was good as well.

The menu at blackstrap is impressive. There are so many delicious options that you'll keep wanting to come back to try something else.

I recommend it because the place is very nice, and the employees are very attentive

Pretty blown away with this place, I couldn't tell if we just ate at a BBQ joint or a tapas joint. To be fair we didn't order any BBQ but plenty of others did and it smelled amazing. Our meals were excellent, we had a Papusa, shrimp Rangoons salmon salad-all.the current specials of the day. I want to go back, real friendly service and atmosphere, what a cool spot.

This is a great place, the food is wonderful.
I love the live music on Tuesdays, Andrew is great & entertaining.

I truly cannot praise this place enough.

If you have a love of good barbecue, this is where you want to go. Full stop!

Exceptional pork and brisket, clean and friendly atmosphere, brilliant and professional staff, and the best collard greens you are going to find this side of the Memphis in May festival!

I dunno when next I'll be in Boston, but I plan to make time to get back here.

What a great find, The atmosphere is fun and casual. The food is very good. We had a sampling of fried pickles, 2 ribs and 2 pieces of fried chicken thighs.
