Have you ever read "Fried Green Tomatoes at The Whistle Stop Cafe"? If so, then this place will far exceed your wildest dreams when it comes to BBQ. The only thing missing are the fried green tomatoes! We tried the chicken, pork, brisket, ribs and burnt ends with sides of Mac and Cheese and cornbread. Everything, and I mean everything rated a ten out of ten. The train passing by was the icing on the cake. Cash only and go early to avoid missing anything on this menu.

Food was so good, I will be back! Train went by while we were there and they have this thing when a train goes by you run and sit in a bar stool and the bartender draws a number and the person sitting in that number bar stool gets a free drink. I thought that was pretty fun 😁

What amazing gem! My husband and I stopped in for lunch today and were thrilled with the experience. We ordered the smoked wings and brisket with sides of shady corn and red skinned potato salad. The house seasoning on the wings was well paired with all the house sauces. The corn was unique and savory fantastic. The potato salad was on par with the very best homemade. The brisket was as tender as one would expect from a gifted BBQ place. The service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was charming. We will be back as often as possible. Highly recommended!

Decided to try somewhere new. Bartender was lovely, atmosphere was very inviting. Now to the best part. THE FOOD! Delicious. Decided to try what was available. Smoked Chicken, brisket, pulled pork, and poutine with a side of mac and cheese. Not one thing disappointed. Poutine was a meal in itself and definitely going to be back for more. Smoked chicken was juicy and full of flavor. Briskit fell apart had so much flavor. Definitely going to see about catering in the future!

Cash only place, but there is an ATM inside. Wonderful service and amazing food! Highly recommend the chips and dip, pork belly, and poutine. Poutine ended up being enough for at least 4 different meals lol. Very welcoming vibe. Hubby is very intent on returning👍

Brisket was bomb, every single side had flavor, the homemade pickles were legit, cornbread was a hit and that spicy bbq sauce I got me one for the home fridge. If you are in the area IMO one of the best options around. Tip my hat to everyone involved in the grind that is Good BBQ.

We visited over 4th of July weekend. I absolutely love the shady corn!! Nothing disappointed. We ordered the meat by the 1/2lb because who doesn't like some leftovers for snacks!

A true gem in Adams county. Locals and outsiders alike should take notice of the service and quality of food offered at this establishment.

I walked in this afternoon ~1:00 PM. I sat down at the bar and the waitress told me she would be with me shortly. As I looked around I could tell that there was a passion for BBQ in this establishment. The decor and vibe is just right for Adams county.

The waitress brought me my water, menu, and sauces. She proceeded to inform me about the menu and what was/was not available for ordering today. (Sounds like the deep fryer was out of commission. No big deal, I came for BBQ. As a consumer I appreciated the candor)

The menu itself was not hard to follow, but in my opinion could be simplified even more. I opted for the 1/2 chicken dinner for 12$ and am glad I did. (They guy next to me said "if you don't mind me asking, what did you get?" It just looked good!) The dinner came with two sides, a slice of cornbread, pickled onions and sweet pickles . I chose Cole slaw and Akers corn for my sides.

Before I got my meal I asked the waitress, (who was bussing, bartending, and waitressing all herself) if they had a "shake a day". She said they did. (If you don't frequent Wisconsin, shake a day is a good habit to get into ;) look it up on google. ) The waitress came back with the dice and informed me of the house rules for shake of the day. "Three rolls, no farming" Won a free drink on the first shake. The poker chip in the picture is my drink token.

When the waitress first brought over the sauces she told what each of them were. Alabama sauce (combo of horseradish and Mayo) , Mustard sauce (had a nice base of yellow mustard which I like, but not too overpowering), and House BBQ (seemed like a ketchup based sweeter sauce, would be nice with fries). She then asked if I liked spicy, I told her absolutely. She went back in to the kitchen, brought out a bottle of another sauce, and told me it was a sort of sweet and spicy Nashville hot bbq sauce. She proceeded to tell me it's sweet on the front end but will sneak up on you a little bit. All of the sauces were well put together, yet simple, and tasty.

My chicken was very nice, I could tell it was fresh. Had a nice smoke to it and seasoning was just enough. I would get it again.

Coleslaw was very simple nothing really, good or bad, stuck out to me. Added a little spicy bbq sauce to it and that was a nice touch.

Akers corn was very nice - basically creamed corn with peppers and some other stuff, and would absolutely recommend it to others.

Overall, my experience was pleasant. Good Chicago style BBQ. Pretty cool to have a former executive chef for Sweet Baby Rays on Castle Rock Lake. Thankful for the experience. Hope to be back again soon.

Emily and Amanda were amazing. As the restaurant got busier, they stepped up and met the challenge. They handled our group of 13, all other tables and even a few malcontents with speed, ease and grace. Signed, Number 6.

Have driven passed this place numerous times & often wondered about it. Then kept seeing it advertised in the local paper so decided to go. OMG! Food was fantastic! Our waitress Emily was a real sweetheart & explained the ordering process & answered any questions we had & made good suggestions. Had pulled pork & beef brisket with sides of yummy corn, coleslaw & baked beans that were to die for! Can't wait to go back to try other menu items.

Brisket was juice and full of flavor, coleslaw was not overwhelmed with Mayo, sausage was rich and spicy, and the drinks were honest, and the waitress was just great.

Detour off the Interstate. Then order the brisket poutine. Just do it. I meant to take a pic, but by the time I got the camera out this was all that was left.

Great Barbecue food! So glad this is in our town. Everything I’ve ordered has been delicious. Stick with this place and ditch the Bear’s Den.

Chef Mark has created absolutely delicious food here. Not only do I think the food tastes great, it’s kiddo approved! The homemade sauces have soo much flavor it was hard to choose which one to use! We had pulled pork and macaroni and definitely joined the clean platter club!
