Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego North/San Marcos

When we first began planning our wedding, one of our priorities was finding a hotel close to our venue (Green Gables Wedding Estate) for our out-of-town guests to stay. We had a lot of family driving in and so it was important that the hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and that it had amenities like an included breakfast. We found the Residence Inn San Marcos and immediately they were accommodating in helping us set aside a courtesy block for guests to easily book. One of our guests had a misunderstanding with how they were being charged, and the Director of Sales, Bryan Thornhill, responded to our email while he was out of the office to let us know it was being looked into. The issue ended up being a misunderstanding on our guest’s part, but Bryan and the Residence Inn team provided a level of service that really eased the stress of securing hotel reservations for over 30 of our guests. They went above and beyond with little things like putting out a sign welcoming our wedding guests. The included breakfast the next day was awesome, especially considering so many guests were unfamiliar with the area and were hungry after a late night. We heard from so many guests that they had a great experience and that’s what was most important for us. We would definitely recommend staying at the Residence Inn San Marcos for future events because they made it so easy and made us (and our guests) feel special. Great experience at Marriott. I recommend this residence to any person who wants a clean and comfortable place at an affordable price. The guy front desk is extremely talented and helpful. I should give more than 5 stars because it was a great experience.

Outstanding service. Beautiful, well-maintained facilities.

One concern, Cook top stoves are not very effective.

Location is great. Shower is great. Really high water pressure. Staff seems great so far. Room is pretty good. No oven. But full size fridge, stove top, some basic cutlery, 1 frying pan, seems to be 8inch, 1 stock pot, 1 quart pot, 3x knives.

No early checkin. AC is weak on my side of the building. Took multiple hours to cool down the room. I could have been doing it wrong..but typically I turn AC to 68 and it gets to 68. At midnight it was still 73. During the night it did get down to 65…hopefully it stays that way.

Breakfast is what’s expected. Boiled eggs, breakfast sandwiches, sausage. Better than some.

They have a grill anyone can use as well

So far, so amazing. We have a suite with 2 queens and a sofa bed for 2 adults and 3 kids. There is so much space and the room feels clean and luxurious. The furniture and decor are tasteful and seem high quality. There is plenty of lighting and outlets for charging all our devices.

Complimentary breakfast was managed beautifully. Later in the day, they even offered a complimentary happy hour type of gathering with free food and beer and wine.

Someone was using the exercise room when we checked it out. They had cardio machines, a bench and dumbbells. It was equipped with cups and a water dispenser and towels.

If it was warmer, we would have hung out outside by the pool. Tastefully designed outdoor space for lounging even if you don't want to swim.

One of my kids was running a fever the first night and the staff immediately brought an extra blanket. There's an option for them to stock your fridge with staples (eggs, milk, etc.). When we got back from being out, housekeeping had made our beds and switched out our towels, as expected. But they also ran the dishwasher so all the dishes were clean and ready to use when we got back.

There seems to be good communication among the staff. Makes me feel taken care of.

I would stay here again for sure.

Beautifully, spacious rooms with great kitchenette. Social areas were great with the pool and spa, billiard room, outdoor grill and fire pit area. Complimentary breakfast was well stocked and maintained. Staff was incredibly friendly. We'll definitely be staying here again in the future.

The environment of this hotel is very friendly, and the location is very convenient for me! If I have the opportunity to come to the United States again, I will still want to live again.

From the front desk to my room I felt welcomed. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. My room was perfect. It was actually better than what the photos online showed. I felt like I was in a nice little one bedroom apartment. I would definitely come back to stay.

Well worth the price. Above what we expected and the staff was marvelous, service was great and breakfast was very good. Our bathroom sink was slow draining so we told front desk and it was fixed in no time at all. Very clean and attractive furnishings throughout the hotel.We had the senior suite which
had lots of room to move around in and relax. Was nice having a computer desk.
We 100% recommend staying here and we plan to return on our next visit to San Marcos.

Location has quick access to the freeway, dinning, and entertainment. The rooms are better than some apartments I've seen (both in space and layout). The service was excellent. Unlike some hotels, which are only good for sleeping and showering, there are enough amenities here to keep you comfortably occupied throughout the day.

Great day at ocean side. Young lady at the front desk was great. She was awesome, she help us out with our reservations. We got in kinda late food options was limited because of the time we got in. Gave us a few places that was still open. Told us to try In-N-Out because I never had it, being from Indianapolis. Overall stay was great.

This is a great hotel, with friendly staff, many amenities and located adjacent to a shopping center. It's a very quiet and clean environment and have never had any negative experiences during the past 7+ years of my stays here. I travel for business and enjoy the option to cook my own meals in my private kitchen versus eating out. There is a short walk to the grocery store or other dinning. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Residence Inn to attend my cousin's wedding at a nearby venue. The staff at the hotel were very nice and pleasant. The lobby had a cozy outdoor fire pit and a lounge area with a pool table. We booked a studio room, which had a full kitchenette and living room area. The bed was very comfortable. The room had modern looking granite counter tops and tiling in the bathroom. The night staff was extremely friendly as well. I recommend this hotel.

The room was excellent! It had full amenities such as a stove top/oven sink garbage disposal, dishwasher, full size fridge, microwave, small 2-3 person dinner table, 2 tv's one in the main room and bedroom. This location had a gym, laundry mat, full pool and jacuzzi. The staff were very helpful. They allowed my 2 year old son to call them in the phone just to play. Full breakfast included that came with eggs, Canadian bacon, veggie scramble, spinach, cheese, fruit, yogurt, cereal, bagels, waffles and juices.

This place is awesome. There's a little kitchenette stocked with any and all cooking necessities, a comfy seating area with an extra pull out mattress for the kids and a nice little desk area to work at. Everything is cleaned well and looks great. Our stay here has been very comfortable and I don't want to leave!

Exactly what I was expecting. Quiet and friendly service. Right off the exit. Very safe.

My family of four came to stay here after our house was crushed by a falling pine tree. We arrived with what we could quickly grab and two dogs. The staff was so gracious and accommodating, especially with our older dog who really really struggled with staying in a place without a doggie door, if you know what I mean! The free breakfast was very welcome at a time when it was all we could do to keep showing up for our respective jobs. The breakfast hit all the right spots, with kid cereal and oatmeal and fresh fruit and eggs and sausage or bacon and waffles with all the toppings! And of course fresh coffee! The evening Mix on weeknights usually featured appetizers substantial enough to make an evening meal out of. The kitchenette in our suite had all the essentials and the laundry room came in very handy! I would highly recommend this as a good value for a family in town for fun but also for refugees from disasters who are staying there on the insurance company's dime!

Great stay, fabulous amenities, best hotel-stay breakfast I had on my very long road trip. Dog-friendly and delightful.

The hotel and room were clean. Hotel staffs were nice and the free breakfast was good for being free. Ample parking. The hotel staff accommodated my request.

Chill spot right off the highway. Great access to restaurants and bars. Has a fire pit and outdoor patio as well as a billiards table. We got the room with a little kitchenette. Has a stove top with dishwasher and refrigerator. Couch is a pullout but the cushions are just as comfy. I'm sure the bed is ok too but I drew the short straw.
