I have been wanting to go here for quite awhile and never made it. Moment I walked in the atmosphere was exceptional and warm. I ordered the jagersnitzel,spats, and Gurkin salat. The snitzel was ginormous and the gravy made me feel like I was in Germany again. Definitely try it out you won't be disappointed

Excellent cuisine. I use to go there every time I travel for business to San Luis Potosí. There was music live, my guests enjoyed too.

The food was delicious. They had a family reunion show up. They called and left a message on the answering machine the night before. So they were shorthanded. Our server literally threw my water down and kept walking while my water kept on sliding. I'll try to go there again because the food is that good.

Great restaurant for those who like German food. A little off the beaten path but certainly worth the visit. Prices are very reasonable. Be sure to check their website to confirm their hours of operation. Worth the trip for a great meal!

Went to check out this restaurant because of its German cuisine. Have a plan to bring a good friend here who is from Germany to get authentic German food. Can’t wait to go back again, the food was delicious. Ordered schnitzel, German potato salad, and Spoetzl. The German potato salad wasn’t quite up to par, so they were happy to replace it for me with the red cabbage which was out of this world. The service was extremely friendly and I felt like I was sitting in a friends dining room. They chat it with me throughout the whole time since I was the dining room wall. I will be back very soon.

One of the other diners described it perfectly: it's like a secret fishing hole. So good that you don't want to share. And just like that fishing hole it was a little bit of a challenge to find for someone from out of town.
Arriving at the grounds you aren't sure if it's a private camp or a German alcove but follow the road all the way to the back and look for the signs. The area is similar to what I'd imagine a rustic village would be in Germany. Simple buildings and interesting decor.
The meal was excellent. Probably the best meal Ive had in Toledo.
My party was greeted promptly and given the option to sit outside or inside. The inside was fantastically decorated but we chose outside. Basic glass tables,chairs, and umbrellas. Definitely set up for the more heavy drinking crowd. But perfect for the day. A nice breezy warm afternoon with just the right amount of shade from the trees.

We ordered drinks and a sausage sampler to split. There were 3 types of sausage. Knockwurst, weisswurst, and one other. All 3 were grilled with just the right amount of char but not enough to ruin the flavor.

For our main course I chose the jagerschnitzel, spatzel, and German potato salad. It was all fantastic. The gravy on my schnitzel was a good balance of tart and savory. The schnitzel itself was browned perfectly.

For dessert I had the carrot cake. Not too sweet not overly spiced. The icing was that good mixture of cream cheese and sugar so that it balanced the sweetness. My fellow diners had the German chocolate cake but I tried to warm them that German chocolate cake is almost more of a coloring agent than a flavor. They were expecting more like an American chocolate cake that's so sugary you can only take two bites.

Overall it was probably the best place I've eaten at in Toledo and will definitely be back any chance I get.

Service here is good..the atmosphere is that of a classic german restaurant..the food is traditional german food and good portions of it as well. Also must note the giant pretzel is amazingly good...and giant. Comes with a cheese sauce and 3 types of butter. Highly recommend checking this place out if in the area and enjoy german food.

The food portions are very generous. The service was great and the food was nice and hot. I would definitely be back.

Very interesting and great food!! Cozy area that u wouldn't think the drive would take u here when u never been here. But 100%worth it!!

Portions are MASSIVE. Come hungry. Everything is tasty. I recommend getting the sampler and trying a little of everything to decide what you like. Definitely get the beer cheese. Doesn't matter what else you order, get it anyway.

Came with my fiancé for the rib special and it sure was special! A half rack was more than enough for dinner and leftovers. The amount of tender, fall-off-the-bone meat was outrageous! Loved the sides, all tasted homemade with genuine German flavors. I can't recommend this place enough.

The go to place in Toledo to eat/drink German food and beer! The Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier was amazing, the cloudier the better! The Jägerschnitzel was also onpoint...The environment makes you feel like you are in Germany.

We had a wonderful time and have enjoyed every visit. The food is always on point and of course you can't go wrong with a dunkel. Thank you to the staff for an enjoyable night out.

We were 2 of 4 people in the place for a late lunch, so it was hard to judge the atmosphere but the decor was cool.
