Fantastic place to go to if you’re into physical retro media. CD’s, LP’s and cassettes from artists you’ve heard of and never heard of. Stacks and stacks of old and new records. The front of the building is a guitar store/museum. With several guitars signed by famous musicians. Great place to visit when you come to the Rochester area.

The name says it all. Absolutely loved this guitar and cd store! The staff were great, they had a huge selection of cd’s and guitar, the place was HUGE, and the place was clean. We at least spent 2 hours at this place and got a few picks and gear from here while we were in the area. They also have amplifiers, keyboards, ukuleles, and much, much more. Their signature wall near the cd’s was sick as well. It’s worth checking out.

I suspect if you're from this area (or not, it's kinda famous) and a musician you probably know this place, but for those who aren't in the know, it's quite an experience.

It's not for those who need a sanitized corporate experience. Literal piles of musical instruments just lumped together all over the store, on multiple floors. They have quality stuff an advanced musician would love. Embark on an archeological mission to dig thru piles of equipment looking for some old vox or silvertone hiding at the bottom of a pile of Archemedes' favorite midi controllers he traded in on something else.

And, theres a huge record store on the bottom level with the same aesthetic.

Def a destination if you're a musician. Quite a bit of synths, rack gear, and drums as well as guitars.

House of guitars is legendary, so if you're in the area you HAVE to stop in and get a Tshirt! My daughter found a red LTD she had to have. We were in the store for a long time, she made several trips to the amp room to try out guitars. The staff is super cool, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Must stop destination when in Rochester. Spend time in the vast record shop. They have some great vinyl finds. And the owner was fun to talk to. We spoke for at least thirty minutes and he gave me a nice tour overview of the store.

Wow wow wow! Probably the coolest music store I've ever seen. Incredible selection of guitars. Drum department was decent with a good selection of lower and medium priced drum sets. The record store was overwhelming! Meet Armand! Nice guy

The House of Guitars is not only a national treasure, it’s a musician’s and music lover’s temple. Amid the controlled chaos, there piles of vinyl, CD’s, and vintage recording formats from the sixties through the present. And guitars, amps and professional recording gear and software.

Armand and his brother’s life work is legendary. Irondequoit is blessed to have House of Guitars.

Attached is a photo of one of many little gems and souvenirs you can find in this legendary museum, store, music school. Some of the souvenirs are signed by artists of your favorite song.

Don’t forget to pay her a visit every once in a while. I expect the collectibles and souvenirs from the House of Guitars to keep their value, if not significantly increase over time.

Armand, hats off to you. Congratulations on 60 years of rocking on Earth.

Must visit! Great place, classic atmosphere. Basement is messy but that is part of the charm. Staff is great and super helpful. Huge selection of music, shirts and instruments. Check out the signature wall.

A Rochester institution. Some musicians freak at the idea of the guitars touching each other behind the plexiglass, but I find it charming. Used prices can be a deal, but anything new is what you’d expect. I certainly hope HoG never goes by the wayside; it’s too fun to poke around in.

Love this place. Locally owned and respected throughout the world. Went in for a mic stand part and picked up a book, another unique idea for another gift and saw a bass guitar signed by my favorite bassist. Thank you for staying open and viable through all of this. Employees were wearing masks, keeping their distance and if course, very helpful.
Buy local!

P.S. Oh yeah, picture in the back expansion has a shot of the crowd waiting for Who tickets at the front door. I'm in among them!
