This is a lovely little shop. They have a great selection of items for your pantry, household (laundry, cleaning, etc.) and personal care. The staff is friendly and helpful and the products are clearly selected with care and attention (organic pantry items, clean and chemical-free household and personal care products). Love the scents for dish soap, hand soap, body wash, detergent, etc. It’s a pleasure to shop here. Simple Bare Necessities has made it easy and fun to reduce waste in my house and I’m always finding new ideas when I go to do my regular refills.

Lovely little store. Has so many essentials. I get my olive oil, oats, cleaning and bath products here. Employees and owner always super helpful. Bring your own containers or they have a supply people donate. We go once a month to stock up. Feel so good to shop here.

My absolute favorite place to shop! Mikaela and her team are so kind and helpful. The selection of products is amazing, in fact almost all of my health and beauty aids are now purchased there. I feel great knowing I am helping the environment by refilling there. The peanut butter cups and dried mango are our favorite snacks, and I can’t live without the lemon lavender hand soap. It is always a good day when I stop by!

This shop is a dream! I always love coming for my household refills, to find new sustainability products, and now to thrift for clothes! The shop owner is a sweetheart. She is super knowledgeable about all the products she sells and about sustainability just in general. She always answers all my questions happily when I stop by. Her upgraded space on the second floor is gorgeous. I love that she partners with local artists. This shop is exactly what I’ve been looking for for quite a few years, so it’s great to see a local business thrive into something actually needed in this area. Will be back soon!

What an amazing shop! I love being able to bring my own container & buy what I want, knowing that's 1 less container in the landfill. There are so many sustainable products available & even great gifts! The owner & her team are so passionate about zero waste & it shows!

I absolutely love this store. The selection of bulk items, beauty and home products is incredible! Every time I go I find something new. This is why I always bring an extra empty container because I inevitably find something I just need to bring home. The staff is so friendly and will help you with anything you need. If you haven’t stopped in yet, get over there!

I AM SO EXCITED THERE IS STORE LIKE THIS IN SUSSEX COUNTY! I love the zero waste and bring your own container approach. I can’t believe how inexpensive some of the items came out to be! They have pantry staples, spices, oils and vinegars as well as cleaning supplies and this is just the greatest store !! I will definitely be back!

This place is awesome. Bring your own reusable containers or use theirs to bring home everything from laundry detergent and deodorant to spices, nuts, pasta and flour. This is the way the world should work if we have any hope for the planet. Spread the word!

I always walk away feeling good after buying from SBN. I'm grateful this exists in Sparta. I will keep supporting so I have the option of doing the right thing for the environment. (Today, I bought pine nuts for making pesto. Next time, it will be dried fruit or spices.)

Simple Bare Necessities is a TRUE gem, and one of my new all-time favorite spots. I moved to the area in November, and Michaela (the owner of SBN) has created such a positive, community-focused environment that makes me so excited to come back every week (I am ALWAYS thinking of reasons I need to go back!!) I am so passionate about living sustainably, and SBN makes it so easy and fun - I am SO glad SBN exists and that it is making shopping sustainably affordable and accessible to the communities of northern Jersey. Plus, SBN has the cutest sustainable swaps (the retro tissue boxes make me smile), and I feel like I'm having fun shopping there, even though it's for basic (or should I say Bare!??) necessities :) 110% can't recommend SBN enough - we need more shop owners like Michaela in this world.

This place has such a wide variety of products! It’s so well organized, staff is friendly and helpful. I’ve gotten multiple products, their laundry detergent is great and the dry shampoo is the best I’ve found.

I have orders shipped from time to time and they always arrive promptly and correct with all the natural, low waste products I need! Love this shop, keep making a difference! :)

This is my favorite store in all of Sparta! It's my first stop for gifts, for treats for my kids, for basically anything. I always love that I can find unexpected sustainable versions of items that I normally used to buy. Also, buying things like floor cleaner and countertop cleaner in bulk has been surprisingly easy and saves me a lot of money. Thank you for existing! I love this store so much!!!

I. Love. This. Store. Not only is it a place with purpose and an amazing cause, but the products are spectacular. They truly prove that you don’t need to sacrifice on quality and function to be sustainable and earth conscience. Refilling is also so satisfying and fun, which seems odd because I don’t think we generally think of shopping for laundry detergent as fun, but it is at Simple Bare Necessities. I also love the people, the owner, is kind, brilliant, and believes in this cause with every bit of her and it shows. I trust the products she has chosen to fill her store with because I know she cares about the products being safe and good for you as well. All of the wonderful people she employs and surrounds her store with are fantastic. I can go on forever but truly, if you haven’t been, you need to!
