ERA Team VP Real Estate & Vacation Rentals

I just recently rented a property in Ellicottville for a family gathering. I had family in from out of town for a ski trip. Carrie was such a great help in sending along properties that would fit our needs. I feel that she went out of her way to help us and to also take care of an issue that I was having with HomeAway. My out of town family just loved the home that we chose, which was in walking distance from the main drag and the Tops Market. The house had 4 bathrooms and many bedrooms giving everyone the privacy that we needed. The property itself was perfect for gathering with a nice large kitchen overlooking an even larger dining room. I would definitely call on Carrie again if I have a need in Ellicottville rather than going through an aggregate site. Thanks Carrie and team for all your help!

Stayed in the Koby Chalet last weekend, arrived on Thursday night and went out for dinner. During the 4 hours while out, it snowed a good 5"-6". Upon returning to the Chalet, we tried getting up the drive and got stuck half way up. BTW...all wheel drive vehicle with new snow tires. The car got stuck against the snow bank and that was it, we tried shoveling out, but with luck. Got inside and called the ERA Teams emergency number...3 times. This is a 1-800 number call center, didn't have a clue but said they would get hold of someone and that someone would get back. No one got back. I called first thing in the morning, and said they would try to reach the snowplow contractor. In the mean time I had a service come to winch me out...cost $280. I presented this bill to the ERA management and was told they would not cover it because it was weather related...REALLY? I observed the neighboring properties drives were plowed. In the 4 hours we were out, other snowplow companies were servicing their clients. I spoke to the Rental manager who I found to be dismissive and would not take responsibility for anything to do with this. When I asked who was responsible, she said the plowing service. I told her I didn't sign a lease with them, I signed a lease with ERA and keeping access to the property is a fundamental expectation, which fell on deaf ears. I was told by the manager she saw pictures and "...she could have backed out and I'm a woman." OMG
I am closing on a property this month and discussed with ERA Team to be the rental managers of my new property. After this experience, I strongly recommend not using them for property management or renting through this agency. I get the heavy snow fall, but I would have expected the rental agency to cover the winch charge considering the circumstances and the inconvenience. What if I had arrived at 10pm. to find the driveway not plowed? Call the BS emergency number and wait?
When you pay over $2,200 for a weekend, and the rental agency takes no responsibility for it's subcontractors, not good business.
