Not a hotel review but a review of the grounds by a guy who used to live nearby and really enjoyed grabbing a coffee and being on some grass in a nice quiet spot. It’s a good place to wile away some spring weekend hours and if you can squeeze your way into the hotel a bit there are some fantastic old seminary halls and rooms to explore

Charming hotel in a former monastery. Don’t expect super fancy. They didn’t completely gut renovate it, so you still have some of the charm of the original rooms. The lobby is really just a coffee shop and the check in process is a little awkward at the kiosk, you’re kind of in the way all the time. But I prefer this so much more to the alternative.

Absolutely fabulous hotel in a great location with staff that will make you feel like family! A must stay while visiting NYC! We enjoyed walking the High Line and we received free passes to workout at Chelsea Piers!

4.5. Great hotel in the heart of Chelsea. King room was adequate with lots of charm. We purposely stay here for the location and ambience. Check in/out was a breeze. They held our bags for a few hours after check out. The coffee bar in the lobby had excellent coffee for a decent price. The outside cocktail bar was delightful with lots of seating and typical expensive Chelsea drinks. In room A/C worked well, road noise was present but we brought a white noise machine and it helped. We will stay here again.

Unique, olde worldy place. Large rooms. Quiet. No room service or restaurant, but still a lovely place with superb beds and several outside areas.

Stayed here on a work trip and had a lovely stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was plenty large for my 4-day stay.

The best part of the hotel has to be the front dining area with the matching, social media-friendly pink flower front arch and British double decker bus.

Just a shout out to the manager and customer service team at the The High Line Hotel. My wife and I had a two night stay planned this week. Unfortunately our dog became ill and we needed to go home suddenly. They were kind enough to refund us for the night we didn't use. Thank you so much! (BTW the dog was very happy to see us and he seems to be covering from his issue.) We were sad to leave because it's such a special hotel--great rooms, great service, great location. We'll be back soon!

I spent my anniversary with my fiancé at the Highline Hotel and we had an amazing night! Check in was a breeze, the lobby and entrance was decorated so nicely and the staff was friendly. We had drinks at the lobby bar before going out to dinner and the manager, Juliana, gave us local recommendations.

The bed was SO comfy we didn’t want to get out of it in the morning and the room was so spacious especially for a NYC hotel room. Great location, views of the highline and a quick walk over to Chelsea Market.

In the morning, we stopped at the coffee bar, Intellegentsia, and I had the most delicious latte (avena latte, highly recommend trying)!

10/10 would stay again, it’s also a nice touch that there are cute dogs in the lobby most of the time ◡̈

This is an amazing property on historic grounds. The place has been outfitted and maintained with a lot of original period items. A wired, dial telephone, antique desk and lamps, woodwork, windows, etc. Oh, and what seems like the original elevator from a century ago. But this all blends with modern comforts. Disappointed that there was no in room coffee, and no complimentary coffee in the lobby either - they do have a barista you can buy from though.

The courtyard is a sanctuary in the hustle and bustle of NYC. Get your laptop, grap a drink from the cute coffee shop and have a relaxed work day here.

The friendliness of the staff put this experience above the expected, beautifully appointed, well located stay. Our room over the courtyard with its grand, old sycamore tree was luxuriously quiet. If you love rugs and antiques this place is worth a night's stay. Loved the stamp embosser, and don't miss the grand hall before you leave. Could have been Hogwarts!

The bar outside the hotel is a fine place to relax with a strong drink with friends. Tucked away in a lush green patio just off 10th avenue, with easy sights and scenes of passing New Yorkers - including Sandra Bernhardt, who was strolling by as we left. With the red London bus permanently parked along an outdoor wall, blasts of the AC from the lobby, and colorful flowers blooming around smiles and laughter, it may be one of the finest offbeat oasis’s in the neighborhood. You will be paying Manhattan hotel price points, but you’ll also feel a savory warm buzz in comfort and style. People watching spot galore. Try the “Interstellar” cocktail to climb the atmosphere quickly.

Older hotel but done well. No extras but everything you need to have a great stay. Good coffee shop in the lobby and wonderful outdoor space if the weather cooperates. Outdoor bar is nice from 3 to 11.

One of my absolute favorite hotels in the city and I have tried most of them. The rooms are so precious and the furniture is stunning. Also maybe the comfiest bad I have encountered period, They provide the coziest robes and slippers, amazing coffee to greet you in the morning. Really gorgeous building in a great neighborhood. Oh and of course the staff was fantastic, especially the guys at the coffee bar.

Stopped in for some cocktails to escape a hot NYC afternoon! Easily accessible from the high line, we didn’t manage to get a seat outdoors but they do have lots of outdoor seating as well as indoor near the lobby bar! The only downside is the lack of restroom facilities in their lobby. There is one all gender restroom, so prepare for a line up!

The Highline Hotel was so fabulous! It's a beautiful building with a delightful coffee bar that turns into a fabulous bar in the evenings! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The location is great, and there are so many shops and restaurants within blocks (The Chelsea Market was our favorite!). I would highly recommend!

The room was clean and the service was great. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The corner room was spacious with plenty of natural light, but unfortunately too close to the noisy streets. From what I heard, the garden facing rooms were quieter but also smaller.

Fantastic stay! This hotel is absolutely charming. The staff is hardworking and helpful. I walked through the pretty front court yard and was warmly greeted. There are not formal porters milling about to fawn over you. The space is historic. It is spotless. The room (47) is magnificent. I highly recommend and I can’t wait to return.

Very cool hotel right in the heart of Chelsea. Very friendly staff. Rooms are smaller than average, but if you like the style, it more than makes up for it. Really like the coffee shop come cocktail bar in the lobby. Would be nice to give a discount for guests given there's not tea or coffee facilities in the rooms. Will stay again for sure.

Fabulous hotel, great location. Comfy bed and spacious room. Lovely garden bar and surrounds. Good location, quite a few eating options close by, short walk to markets and restaurants. Love the styling in the rooms and hotel...great place to stay, would stay here again!
