Hillside Cemetery

I wish I could leave a positive review but deciding to place a memorial at Hillside has been nothing but a disappointment. For months on end, I waited for cement to be placed after being told it would happen multiple times by the city clerk. Expecting it to ‘finally’ be completed, the headstone was delivered to the site only to find it was still nothing but a pile of dirt - this resulted in the headstone being placed in the grass away from the plot….And there it has sat for months. They finally put the cement down a few months ago but never put on the headstone. I’ve called the city multiple times, been told they “would do get it done”, then given the “I don’t know what happened, they must’ve missed it” excuse. I’ve directly spoke with an employee working here at the cemetery and had him make contact for me. Still nothing. This is not a large cemetery and we have waited all spring and summer with an incomplete site.

People are already dealing with grief and loss - the last thing they want to add onto that is a dismissive city cemetery that doesn’t properly communicate, respect the dynamic of a timely transaction or the family who’d like to finally see their loved ones memorial in an even acceptable state. This is a mess that needs to be resolved.
